Snow Days

Well good morning! We've got another wintery, snowy day here, but that's alright. Gives us all something to talk about, lol. Heading off for a haircut a little later this afternoon, and am looking forward to it. But before I go, I need to get cleaned up and wash my hair...you know, it's like brushing and flossing before you go to the dentist! My stylist Mary just laughs at me. And other than getting my hair tweaked, I've only got plans to play in the craft room today - Woohoo!

I've got less than five hours before Inspired By closes, so I'd better cut the chatter and get a move on.  And I'm also joining in at Addicted to CAS with a second card. Let's take a look, shall we?

I was definitely inspired by the cacti, especially the one on the left front.

All the images are Hero Arts stamps, and the sentiment is from Studio L2E. A bit of Copic coloring and a chunky frame created with a couple of MFT rectangles. Oh, and a green base just because I wanted to.

Next up is my griddly card:

About a hundred years ago, my friend Geri gave me a bunch of patterned papers. This is one of the scraps I have left. I've been hoarding saving it for that special card. A teal base with that special grid paper, and added to that is an MFT "wish" cut with a bling for the 'i.' The "big" is from a Li'l Inkers set. Can you believe that's all? Overall, a pretty EZPZ card, and I like the way it turned out.

I've got to run now, I can hear DH beginning to stir, and I need to get his day started before I need to pop out. You all take care, and as always...

It's hard to imagine 'snow days' when it's so hot here lol. How cool is your framed cacti Bev and I can also see why you were hoarding the design paper, it's a classic and it was worth the wait!

Two fabulous CAS beauties, Bev! Great job squeaking in on time with that challenge AND getting squeaky clean for your haircut! I bet it felt good to get out of the house. Been snowing all day here and the spring on the garage snapped. I'm way to short to scrape my van windshield with my credit card!

Ahhhh, I got my hair cut on Monday and it looks soooo much better! Cute, cute cactus card! I don't know what it is about cacti and succulents, but they do make the cutest stamps. Your card is very fresh, even if it is a little bit prickly. Cool CAS birthday card, too! Gee, the grid paper sure makes it easy to line up the letters, doesn't it? Never thought about that. My grid paper is all on the back of wood grain papers, though, and I'm not about to give up an inch of my beloved wood grain. I wish big that I had your skill with CAS cards!

I love a good green and your base fits the bill, Bev, and looks good with that prickly cactus. Your grid paper is perfect with the block lettering and that little bit of bling. Thanks for sharing that card with us at Addicted to CAS.

Well we are in winter aren't we Bev?! Yes, snow here too, then freezing rain so got up to everything all iced up. I don't mind the snow, but could do without the freezing rain and ice! lol But the next day it got in the 50's and melted that ice away and shrunk the snow. I am totally loving both of your cards! That cacti card is so fabulously CAS and I adore it! I have a cactus stamp set and haven't use it yet! Yes, it is in the Mt. NBUS pill as is a lot of my stuff. Will have to keep this window idea in mind when I finally get around to using it! I also love this "wish big" card! That grid paper is amazing and I love the color of the card base. Such a big impact this card gives!! Love it! Hugs, Brenda

That's such a fun cactus, Bev ... the colouring is fabulous (some of those promo Copics p'raps?) ... love how you kept it playful and whimsical with the chunky frame! Do believe I also have a little snippet of this grid paper from Geri (LH1 I think) ... it's brilliant with the bold sentiment ... love that little sequin flame! Hope you're staying warm and cosy, my friend ... sending you some of our sunshine! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

I do the same thing - it's like I don't want her to know that I'm not good at doing my hair!! I've even re-washed and dried if it looks awful. (I really hate the hassle of hair!!) I'm saving the "wish" to my inspiration file. I just got that die - and the grid look is so perfect for my son who is in school for physics/math! I love the soft look of the cactus - the bit of blue surrounded by white is a lovely look!
