Fuzzy Brain

I've got a major case of fuzzy brain today, but I know exactly why. It's drugs. Had a pretty nasty migraine yesterday so I took my rescue meds and now it feels like I'm slogging through knee-deep molasses. So rather than blather on, I'll just get right to my card for today. I made some little chickies to play over at The Paper Players Challenge. (Marcia, the yellow polkies are in your honor!)

Here's my take:

Sorry about the photo. Brain is just not working well enough today. So I started with a black panel for the base, and added a large scrap of yellow polkie dotted paper from my stash. I have a set of Studio Calico tag dies, and thought that they would fit the bill nicely, as well as use up more of my scraps, though why the scrap drawer never seems to get any emptier I'll never know! The cute little chick is from TT, and I used some Ziggies to color the three of them. The sentiment is from an EH set. I added some yellow and white baker's twine and three bitty yellow nonpareils to cover up the white tags' holes. Should there be an apostrophe after the "s" in tags? See...fuzzy brain...*sigh*.  Anyhoo, I'm off as I need to get a few things done. You all stay safe, and as always...

Waiting

I'm just waiting here for my friend Jen to stop by. Yes, we'll both practice safety by wearing masks and keeping apart, though I'd sure like a big squeezy hug...I guess we all can relate to that at this point. However, since I'm trying to get a post in, I think I should get to it. I made this card a day or two the fellas came to refinish my bedroom floor. Had to wait for the dust to settle before I could uncover my computer and start crafting/blogging again. The floor is gorgeous, and I'll show you the finished product in an upcoming post. I'm trying to sneak in before Less Is More closes for this challenge. It was DT member Sharon's birthday, and we were to CASE her card (gorgeous, btw!):

Here's my interpretation:

The gingham snippet is from the scrap file. The flower stem is from WF, colored with Copics. The sentiment is from SSS cut with a ME die and popped up. The wavy dies are LF. I liked the way this turned out. Maybe I'll make more...! Hope this finds you all safe and well, and as always...

Got My Mojo Workin'

Muddy Waters, one of my most favorite blues singers in the history of forever, recorded "Got My Mojo Workin'" way back in 1957. Here's a rendition of it from 1966, if you're interested. Nothing like the blues! Hope it works, otherwise, just head over to YouTube... Anyway, my card making mojo has returned, at least for the moment, and I'm working it for all I can. Let's see the cards, shall we?!

I'll only show you two of the cards I've made, as I don't want to scare you away! The first one will head off to Color Hues Challenge, and the second will make its way to Seize The Birthday.

Our "Toppings" option this time is...

Very clean and simple. A creamy/ivory base with a center WPlus9 die cut panel, stamped with a Verve sentiment in Altenew Antique Gold ink, and cornered with Paper Smooches leaves.

I pulled all of these papers from my scrap files, and since the"toppings" at Seize the Birthday is to use your scraps, this qualifies. A TE polaroid die with a scrap of yellow polkie dot. That adorable gnome is from Simply Graphic and the computer generated sentiment was cut with a ME die. I might make another one of these, and use an itsy bitsy pompon to top his hat. Hope your day is filled with delights, and I'm off and running now. As always...

TwoFer Challenge # 32

It's wonderfully cool here on this fine October day. How's your Fall going so far? I love the cozy feel of Fall, and all the things that go with it; chili, sweaters, pretty leaves, the World Series, and of course, staying in the warm house making cards! Today's the day for a new Twofer Card Challenge, too -- a perfect time to break out your stamps and play along with us! This month's challenge is:

I think silhouettes make such pretty cards, don't you? Here's what I came up with:

My first card is a (no duh!) 'thinking of you' card. And my second is a (double no duh!) birthday card. Two different designs for two different occasions using the same stamp, in this case.

This one starts out with a plain white panel on a green variegated base. I stamped the Technique Tuesday image, and an accompanying sentiment in CP Twilight ink, and done. Pretty CAS, and as you well know, I do like my CASness.

For this birthday card, I cut the center with a MB die on a white panel. The base was brushed with DIs in girly colors and the silhouette, along with an additional flower and butterfly, were stamped in black on top of the colors. That's a Verve sentiment. Another pretty darn EZPZ card. But effective, I think.

Please say you'll be joining us in the gallery. Head on over to The Twofer Challenge and see the cards the other members of the DT have made, along with those by our lovely Guest Designers. You'll find tons of inspiration there! That's it for me today, and I'll see you at Twofer. And as always...
