Have You Seen It?

I wanted to open today's post with a question and an endorsement. Have you seen it? Have you seen Kara (from Bright Hope Creations) has a brand spanking new YouTube Channel? Well, she does, and mm-hmmm, girl can color with Copics. Need tips and tricks? Need to see how it's done? Head over there. Very, very cool. Have a little visit, and then come back - I've got a couple of cards to share with you this morning.

Two cards, four challenges. The first card will play along at Seize the Birthday, and Time Out. Card number two is off to SSS Wednesday Challenge, and The Flower Challenge

Here's the first one:

I do love the retro look of that bathing suit. Like the Barbie dolls way-back-when wore. I can see some cool white framed sunglasses with green lens' and a big picture hat, too... For this I used an aqua base and some aqua and black sequins. The image is from Photoplay, and the sentiment is from HA. I cut the panel with an MFT wonky framed die, then added a slender black panel to highlight everything.  Black, white, aqua. I like the way this works together.

For my second:

This set by C9 was one of the stamp sets I received for Christmas. Someone who knows my taste well thought I should have this (ok, ok... I gave myself a present...). I played with it a little, but really not until this week have I played with it. For this card, I started with a B&W striped paper from MFT and once the flower was finished, I cut the white panel with a LF border die. I added a Verve sentiment and some yellow sequins. I really like this one, and I hope you do too. Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!

Oh my goodness, Bev, you are THE BEST! I'm so humbled that you would do this for me! Thank you, thank you! Your cards are both brilliant! I can see Barbie wearing that suit in classic 50s style! Perfect combination of the b/w and aqua! Such a gorgeous effect with your spotlight coloring of that beautiful W+9 image! The curve and pinstripes really set it off beautifully!

I love Karas colouring and was so excited to see that she is now sharing her tips with us at Youtube, and I agree her videos are amazing, I have already subbed! And now on to your cards which are always amazing, I agree that bathing suit is awesome but it's that flower bouquet with just one coloured for a highlight which truly has my heart today!

I do love watching Kara color. I don't have Copics but that doesn't matter. It's just fun to watch an artist at work.

That bathing suit is perfect, Bev. I do remember my daughter having a Barbie with a suit just like it. I love the yellow, black and white of your floral card. I must say that it is a Concord and 9th stamp because I have the same one. Thanks for sharing it with us at The Flower Challenge.

Now isn't Kara a star for sharing her awesome colouring talent, Bev ... and aren't you a sweetie for sharing her news with everyone! Retro swimsuit ... well, hello gorgeous ... I'd love to have a swimsuit like this, never mind Barbie ... and those colours are just delicious ... perfect with the cool stripes! You've showcased that C9 bouquet beautifully with the pops of buttery yellow and those slender pinstripes ... what a fabulous card! This set has been in and out of my basket so many times ... after seeing this, I think it should have stayed in! Delighted to have you playing along with us at Time Out, my friend! I love your take on the retro challenge! My mom always had an aqua kitchen when I was growing up. She said it was a cool (as in temperature) color. Hot climate, no central air, and she spent a lot of time in that kitchen. The suit looks totally retro. Yup, reminds me of my Barbie dolls. And, ohhhhh, the yellow! You were very nice to yourself at Christmas. I have loved that stamp from afar. Can't have everything, tsk tsk. So gorgeous and fun!
