College Hoops

I am so thankful for College Basketball. Hours and hours of hoops played on TV, with DH completely entranced by "his" teams. Let's see if I can remember a few of "his" teams. Well, there's Georgetown (got his Masters and PhD. there), Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Marquette, Gonzaga, Arizona, Arizona State...Today's games will keep him busy, and let me craft the day away in here!

I seemed to have been on a card making roll. Made a slew of them, and will show you three of them. Bear with me...

Card No. 1 will play at CAS(E) This Sketch, Card No. 2 will head off to SSS Wednesday Challenge and Freshly Made Sketches, and Card No. 3 will go over to Inspired By.

Still with me? Hope so... Sorry. I was compelled by otherworldly forces to make cards and post them here. I'm being held hostage in my craft room by my own creativity! Don't send help; send chocolate!

Found some greenish bluish paper in the scrap files, and went with it. Added some sequins, which in real life have more of that aqua cast to them, but photograph in the pink range. Go figure. The sentiment is from PTI.

I hit that scrap file again, and came up with this floral piece. LOVE it. Now I have to find more patterned paper...hahahahaha! The green paper is from SSS, and the sentiment is from Studio Calico. I have about 3 layers of thickerer cardstock so it sits nice and high. PTI rainstones.

I used an old piece of MME paper cut with an Altenew frame die. SU newsprint paper. Paper Smooches leaves, a few pearls, and a PTI sentiment. I did use some ME Winter ink (oh how appropriate...) on the frame. But that's about it.

As long as College hoops are on, I will continue to craft. Thanks for visiting, have a great weekend, and as always...

BEV! so happy you had some crafty time, and John had his sport to keep him occupied - sounds like the best of both worlds.
I'm also happy that you've chosen to play cards with two of my favorite challenges - he hee - all three beautiful, my friend. Seems like these pretties indicate that you, too, are ready for a little green, and some flowers!

Sports do keep the men busy don't they?! I know it does Bret-he loves his sports. Glad DH can keep busy with all the College Hoop games and you get to craft the day away! Win, win! Love the sketches and love your take on them Bev. The soft greenish/blue paper in your first card is so pretty and calming. Love the gemstones too, they are always hard to get a good photo of. Card 2, well I'm just in love with that pattern paper! So vibrant, so springy! The green celebrate die is perfect and I can see it has dimension to it, then there is the rainstones, so perfect on this card. Yes, this one gives me spring fever! lol Your last card is so cool looking! I love the newspaper print paper layered under that die frame, the the leaves on top and I adore the calming color combo. Well done my friend!!! Can't wait to see what else you come up with on future cards! Hugs, Brenda

Well, Bev, lucky for you that March Madness lasts all month! I see a frenzy of crafting in your future! I'm with your husband, I like Georgetwon (having gone to a Jesuit college myself, I'm partial to the Jesuit school teams!)...I hope he enjoys the games and all of his favorite teams!

Your cards are just fantastic! I love each and every card, and the way you used your scraps of pretty patterned papers is so inspiring! (Why don't I ever think to do that?) I especially love the bright florals onyour second card and the die cut sentiment...so festive and pretty!

Happy crafting, Bev...enjoy March Madness and thanks also for your nice comments at my blog, you are such a faithful supporter and I appreciate it so much!

If I remember basketball championships correctly, hubby will also be entertained the whole month of March, right? Whoot!! Miss you! Enjoy your Sunday! Hugs, Darnell xxoo

It's amazing how you can hit a 'scrap pile' and come up with this floral beauty, it would be hoarded in my house for years lol. Love them all Bev!

Sports definitely have that effect - it's the shiny thing to dangle in front of men and it always works. I'm glad you got some time in your craft room - you need time to refresh, right?! I hear you on the sequins - I always hesitate when I'm thinking about putting iridescent sequins on a card because I know it will create a photography headache. I love your bright, cheerful floral and the pretty green sentiment on the FMS card! Thank you for playing along with us!

March Madness is on it's way which means a LOT more crafting time for you, Bev, so get ready. This past Saturday of crafting netted (no pun intended) some wonderful cards, clean and simple and perfect for their respective challenges.

All are very pretty. I wish I would remember to hit my scrap pile more often. I save everything but I never go back to it... I really like that patterned floral paper you used on card 2. The colors coordinate beautifully with that gorgeous shade of green. Thanks for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I hope you’ll join us again soon ~
