Twofer Challenge #11

Can you believe it's November already?! Have you started getting ready for Thanksgiving yet? Do you host the dinner, or go somewhere? We host those of our children who can come, and invite friends and neighbors who are unable to go to their far-away families. I love cooking for this holiday most of all. This year, I will have to delegate more or I'll get yelled at (heart issues) by my family. I'm hoping some of those little ones can come a day early so we can all bake pies together. They've taken a vote, and decided that we need another flavor of pie, too. Lemon Meringue. Going with Pillsbury pie crusts this year to cut down on the work. There should be flour and sugar all over the kitchen by the end of pie day, lol! Here's a photo of the apprentice bakers from last year:

Aren't they adorable?!! The face on that little Avie...

However, it's the Twofer Challenge you've come here to see, isn't it? So let's get to that, shall we....

Chances are you still have a Thanksgiving or Christmas card to make, so here's a great prompt for you...And, if you play along, you'll be TWO cards ahead!! I had fun with this one:

Together:

Separately:

I used a Memory Box wreath stamp and die set. For my first card, I stamped a full-sized panel, and colored the wreath with Copics. I added several small blings, and a strip of polka dotted paper. The sentiment is from Uniko. For my second card, I stamped the wreath onto a scrap of white and colored it with Copics. After die cutting it, I split the wreath and used it as garland on the blue base. The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled. Had to add a falling blossom just because.

We'll be taking a break for the month of December, but check back on January 10th to see the first prompt of the New Year! Right now, head over to the Twofer Challenge blog so see what the rest of the DT and our Guest Designers have made... And after that, join in the fun!! Enjoy your Thanksgiving celebrations, and have a very Blessed Christmas! And always...

Your cards are so sweet Bev and so are those little cuties in the photo. I already know that there will be flour everywhere and lots of giggles, have the most wonderful Thanksgiving my friend x

What a fabulous crew of apprentice bakers; I can only imagine alllll the fun, giggle and chatter (plus a shenanigan or twelve) that unfold in their pie-making ventures. The results must have been wonderfully delicious - and I'm sure that this year will be a repeat performance!
Beautiful 'traditional' colour wreath in your first card, framing one of my favourite Uniko sentiments. The same wreath, transformed into a garland, is ever so pretty, especially with the little snippet under the sentiment. A duo of delight!
Wishing you absolute joy as you prep for your Thanksgiving gathering and feast. I think we're long overdue for a catch-up, so let's make plans to make that happen!
Hugs, love and misses,
~c

Melt my heart and make me jelly! You are so blessed to have all those grands, Bevie! Won't you share a few?! I'd love to have a pie day with them, too! Please take updated photos this year to share with all of us after the fact! Getting premade pie dough is genius, but you've chosen a hardish kind of pie with the lemon meringue! I've had both successes and abject failures with that one! It's one of the Mister's faves so he scarfed down the bad ones just the same, lol!

Your sweet wreath cards are really divine! That wreath needs to go in my wreath drawer with my other dozen wreaths, many of them NBUS ... okay, maybe not, but I sure do love how airy and feminine it is! I love the crisp red and green against all that white and adding the polka dotted paper (which looks just like ribbon!) was inspired! And just WOW for your lilting birthday card with the garland of flowers and the perfectly placed flower "bling!" Love them, love you, missue! ❤Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful cards Bev!! How clever to fashion a wreath into a spray for your birthday card! And the red in your first card contrasting against the white is just plain stunning. Bravo!!

I love seeing your adorable grandchildren!! I envy you my friend : ) This is going to be an exciting year for us as many of the Mexican children we adopted into our family will be with us for the holiday. They are working about 8 hours away in AZ and will make the trip on or near Thanksgiving. Also our oldest grandson who is doing his graduate work in New Mexico 2 hours away will be coming to celebrate with us!! My cup overflows.

Have a wonderful happy dancing weekend!

Can I come and make flour-y mess on pie day too, Bev? Those littles are just so adorable ... how much fun are you going to have directing these little apprentices ... and keeping your kitchen clean!! Love that fresh, bright, festive wreath ... so delicate with the tiny sentiment ... and perfect with the polka dot pp! Brilliant call to add that tiny tumbling bloom on your birthday card ... such pretty swags ... and so delicious in 'your' colours! A swoper twofer! Missing you, my sweet friend! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

Two FABULOUS wreath cards Bev!! I love anything red & white, so you stole my heart with the 1st card...just beautiful! Love how you used just a portion of the wreath for your birthday card too and especially the one fly away bloom...that kinda stole my heart too!! The real stars of this post however are the grands...how adorable are ALL of them! You are one lucky grandma to have that many to love on!! I would love to be a fly on the wall on pie making day...oh the fun and laughs you're going to have!! Enjoy every minute of it and can't wait to see pics too!! :0)

I'm completely smitten with the wreath stamp and die set you used. Two very different cards and each so pretty! Cutest little apprentice bakers, too. Bet they've grown a lot since last year. Good luck with all the baking. The crust is the most time consuming part of pie baking, so Pillsbury will be a great help!

What a fabulous duo of cards, and I just love the unique way you chose to use your wreath for the birthday card! It's a genius idea and I love the CAS look! The first card has an entirely different look with the red flowers on a white background, and I love the sentiment in the center!
Wishing you hours of fun with your young pie making helpers! Lemon Meringue is my favorite pie in the whole world too. Oops! Sorry, I didn't mean to drool on my comment - I just couldn't help myself :)

Oh, you are going to have so much fun with those sweet helpers! Would love to be a fly on the wall and watch you all! Hopefully you'll have some pictures to share after Thanksgiving!
Your delicate wreath is so adorable! Love it in festive red with the polka dot paper! And to cut it apart and make a garland out of it is really genius! Thanks for the inspiration!
Enjoy your favorite month and all your company!

A gorgeous twofer, Bev! I remember that beautiful yellow wreath swag oh so well from our time together. Your red Christmas wreath is a beauty too - wonderful coloring, Bev! God bless you for your patience with all those cooks in the kitchen. You know me, I would've bought the pies from Costco and just played games with the kids. At least your lemon meringue won't go lemon me-wrong like it would if I were to make it.

Your apprentice bakers look like a very helpful bunch, Bev! They are so sweet and look keen to bake sweet stuff! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends ... and do take it easier this year. I worry about you!

Two fantastic cards, Bev. I LOVE this beautiful wreath and you have coloured it to perfect with both cards. Makes a beautiful Christmas card with the pretty red flowers ... and so pretty as a garland to celebrate a birthday. Very creative and clever, Bev! xx

I am in desperate need of more Christmas cards so this challenge is perfect! I just hope I can carve out some time to play along. There never seem to be enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I'd like. I love how you took the prompt and created cards for two distinct events...that's the power of inspiration I tell you! And as for Thanksgiving I will be going to my sister's house for the day. Many years ago I used to host for my parents and my in-laws but time and circumstance have changed that. Now I just show up with some turnip and sit down to a lovely meal!

What a sweet wreath stamp that you've also turned into a garland, Bev. I'm so sorry I never got a chance to play this month. I'm sure those cuties are a big help making pies. And it makes it more fun too.
