More Normal

I must be getting back to a more normal me. I'm in the craft room, I'm commenting more, and I'm writing blog posts. DH is doing 'well-ish.' He'll never be 100%, but he's walking and doing things for himself again, so we'll take that! Did I tell you I got a cleaning lady? With the old ticker giving me the honking fits, I had to make some changes. Since finding Iryna, my house is clean, and she's given me more time to spend in here than on cleaning projects. Yippeeeee!!!!!! So I made some cards. Imagine that!! One is for the Inspired By Challenge, and the other is for CAS(E) This Sketch.

That soup looks delicious. Perfect cold weather food. I was inspired by the colors, the sprig of herbs, and the 'white space.'

I found this ancient piece of leafy patterned paper in my paper tower and went with it as I didn't have a white-ish woodgrain. The green polka dots are SU, and the orange cardstock is just scraps. I used an RC tag die, a few sequins, a Pinkfresh sprig, and the sentiment is a sticker from dear Darnell

My next card is nearly a one-layer card:

I started out with some Gina K. kraft. It's the best, I swear. I used a Stamp Market polka dot stamp with VersaMark and love the way it looks. I trimmed the panel down ever-so-slightly. The arrows are from C9, stamped in navy blue, and the sentiment is from HA stamped in red. EZPZ. Good for a fella, don't you think? Might make more similar to this to add to my pile....Anyway, hope you're having a great weekend, and as always...

"More normal" sounds marvelous! Great that John is stronger and Iryna is meeting your cleaning need, so that WE get to have more time with YOU! Your soup inspired card is delightful; love those warm, comforting colours! Your arrows-and-polka dots card..swoon! Crisp and fresh! I need some 'pretty' kraft; the cardstock I have - even though it's Neenah - is very dark! I'm going to see if 'local retailers' have access to order some Gina K papers; definitely intrigued!
hugs, love and misses,

Wonderful cards and I wanted to drop by and thank you for visiting my blog. I have a lot of challenges in my life at the moment and don’t get around to visiting as much as I would like, so please excuse me. But this is when I notice when someone had made an effort to come and see me, when I know what a tough time they are having. I am glad things for you are improving and long may it continue. Hugs Sandie xx

Oh Bev, it's soooo good to see you out and about so much more ... how brilliant that Iryna is working out so well ... and prayers answered that John is doing so much better ... long may it continue! A souper duo (sorry, couldn't help it!) ... that sweet little herby sprig is delicious against the warm yellow/orange ... and erm ... polka dots ... need I say more? Talking of polka dots ... the tone on tone ones are perfect for a masculine card ... the arrows are deliciously graphic ... and I love the pop of red in the sentiment! Miss you heaps, my sweet friend ... big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

Wonderful to see you having more craft time, Bev. It's great that you have Iryna to look after the chores and you take more time for yourself, and of course, John. Glad that he is doing better. Seems like life is definitely getting back to a better normal!

Sweet cards. Love the first one with the inspiring soup. I have a butternut squash in my fridge, just waiting to be made into soup. Yum, yum! Not only delicious, but a gorgeous colour. Love the sweet tag with the herb sprig. Your polka-dot card is so fun ... agree, would be great for a guy. xx

LOVE the squash soup card. I am trying to do that card at the moment and finding it difficult. I cannot get past the bowls to the colors! LOVE the second one with the arrows. Sorry to be so late visiting, my little friend! I love your takes on these two challenges and expect to see you in the winner's gallery! You've given a lot of thought to all the elements and relayed them perfectly on both! Of course, it's wonderful to hear the lightness in your voice now that your life is less stressful because of Iryna. What a difference a cleaning lady makes! Long may she clean and long may John do well-ish so you can continue to play with us!! Love you and miss you! Hugs, Darnell
