Unicorn Love

Personally, I think unicorns are sweet and magical, and just right for five-year-old birthday girls to love. And if paired them with rainbows, well... the girl is in heaven! My sweet little Avie turned five last month, and we sent (well, Amazon did anyway) her all things unicorns and rainbows. First she unwrapped her blue hoodie, in a cute rainbow-unicorn print. She did what most kids do when they get clothes as gifts...she tossed it over her shoulder and moved along to the fun stuff, lol!

Yep, that's it right there on the floor. She liked her headband much better!
The card you're about to see isn't the one we sent for her birthday, but unicorns will always remind me of Avery, so I had to tell you this little story. Plus, a fun photo of this granddaughter will make you smile, I'll bet!

Here's what I made for the current Ellen Hutson Challenge. It's a sketch:

Here's my unicorn card:

All in pastels. The sentiment and unicorn are EH stamps, and the scalloped circle die is from MFT. All the panels are from my scrap drawer, and the sequins were a gift from Ardyth (thanks!). I colored the unicorn with Copics, and the horn was done with an ancient gold pen. The panels are popped up with fun foam. Pretty sure this is going to little Kaylin for her December birthday. And I'm pretty sure she'll love it! So there you have it, and I need to get on to doing bills (yuk). Or....maybe I'll do a little commenting! Yeah! That's the ticket! As always...

The only thing cuter than this card, is that darling Avie with her Unicorn headband! Could that face be any sweeter? I don't think so!

I had to laugh, Bev, because Avery looks much cuter in her unicorn headband than I did in the unicorn hat a friend put on me at our Circle meeting this morning. I'm sure glad she didn't take a picture of me. I love the mix of colors on your card.

How adorable your sweet Avie, so stylish with that fabulous unicorn head-band! That is one ultra cool gift, as is the hoodie, which I'm sure she'll be wearing day after day after day! It looks mighty snuggly! Can't believe she's already 5! FIVE! This growing up stuff...sheesh!
Crushing over your sweet unicorn card, pretty in pastels. Love the unicorn's 'pose'...she's gorgeous and she knows it, especially with her fashionable mane, long lashes and golden horn!
Hugs, love and misses,

Ok, Avie first, Bev ... what a sweetie she is (rather like Grandma) ... and so adorable in her unicorn headband! D'you think we'd have looked as good at the LH in such sartorial elegance? Don't know 'bout that! Your card is adorable... love how the pastels in the panels are mimicked in that luscious mane ... and how magical is the gold horn ... Kaylin will love it! Miss you, my lovely friend ... big hugs, Anita :)

What a sweetie pie, looks perfect in her unicorn headband (could just picture my Sophie looking just as happy). Unicorns and mermaids are everything at this age. Wonderful card too, I really like those colour panels keeping the card quite clean looking with the beautiful unicorn at the bottom.
