Directions

I picked up my craft room a bit today, and found the directions that my grandson Carter wrote on 'how to make a card.' Verbatim:  "Paper. CUT paper in drecly in half. FOLD on 41/4." The rest of the page is blank, and I'm thinking he got all too involved with the actual card making process to write anymore. I sent a big bag of paper crafting goodies home with them at Thanksgiving, enough for Carter and his sisters, but he specifically asked for "that white paper, Grammy." I think I'll send them a little card to see if they make and send one or more in return!

And once again, I'm behind in looking at, and commenting on your blogs. For that I apologize, and hope to get back to some sort of normal soon. You're in my thoughts, however. It's just been crazy.

I'm in the craft room while the (Ahem) NFC playoff game is on. Not mentioning teams, but the team I follow has green and gold colored uniforms. No one can blame me for jinxing the game! Anyhoo.... I've got a couple of cards to share today. First one will make it into the Muse 100th Challenge, with Michele Ferguson's debut as part of the team, and it happens to fit into CASology who has very coolly I might add, teamed up with dear friend Darnell and her NBUS Challenge #3! While time has been tight here in the craft room, there was no way I was going to miss these challenges. I've missed so many this past week, and as you all well know, just HAD to at least play in a couple of my favies. I'd like to find the time for more crafty exercising today, but unless I shut up and move on, that won't be happening before chores start nagging me (again). So getting down to it:

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Michele's Muse card is at the top, and it's a CAS wonder. This is the card I made:

Started with a Michaels white base and topped it and popped it up with a panel of that lovely linen-textured cardstock from the sweet Anita (thanks, my dear friend!). I die cut a circle with my W Plus 9 circle, and then die cut two hearts with my RC dies. So far, nothing NBUS there...But the stamp is! It's an AE sentiment done up in ME's Smoke and Coral Burst inks. EZPZ Lemon Squeezy! Oh, and a dash of WoS on the hearts, too.

Next I want to add to my gallery, Brought To You By. You have all been so kind to me, encouraging me, and uplifting me when most needed, and this is one way to give a little back. Today's card is brought to you by Ardyth. You all know her, you all love her. She's the Queen of CAS. It was a real struggle for me to pick one among the hundreds of stunningly amazing cards in her galleries. Just one. Ack!!! I went back and forth between several dozen, "put it away" for a day, then went back to try and choose. Finally, I picked this one... It's brilliant, and I love it (of course I love ALL of her cards...lol). Please stop by her blog (Maskerade), say hi, and peruse at your leisure. You'll be as delighted and amazed at her creations as I am! Oh, and can I add that she's a fantastic person IN REAL LIFE?! I've had the honor and pleasure to meet and spend quality time with her, and think the world of her. And without further ado...

MASKerade: Muse #75 - Thanks so much!

And she inspired me to make this....

Ardyth just inspires so many of us doesn't she?! Take the time to go and visit her; you'll love what you see!
Happy dances everyone!

Green and gold are doing amazing well, aren't they?? It's on in my house too even though the Broncos failed miserable! LOVE the card instructions. It seems so natural to us, but I used to run a cardmaking group of noncardmakers and they needed Carter's instructions each time we met!

What a wonderful group of cards. I love the scalloped heart and the one little pop of color. Love the two hearts overlapping - the linen cardstock adds just enough interest! Ardyth inspires me too - but have you noticed that you can copy her card exactly and it still doesn't look as nice as hers - she has something special!

I can't believe you're not watching the game. I'm with Kim. Since my Broncos lost (and no, I'm not from Colorado) I'm rooting for GB. Anyway, back to the cards. I love your take on Michele's card, and you didn't mention it but she encouraged us to use a song title or lyric for the sentiment. Did you know? Or did you just happen to do it? Love your CASE of Ardyth's card, but making it your own. I hope you can get back to crafting and blogging soon. We miss you.

Both cards are wonderful...love your Muse card, those hearts are so sweet.
Awesome take on Ardyth's card...really love your color and sentiment choices!

We're not talking about that game...not thrilled with either team that is Super Bowl bound. Think that the two of us must have been crafting for the same challenges at the same time. Love how you were inspired by Michele's fabulous card and the inking on the Ardyth inspiration...swoon!

Love your grandson's directions...too fun!

Please tell your grandson that his directions helped me considerably Bev. ;) I love your take on Michele's card so much--CAS gorgeous and your 'Brought To You By' Ardyth inspired card is perfect!

Your grandson is a real peach. I hope you post a picture of the card he makes for you. Both of your cards are just wonderful. And, no wonder, as you had incredible inspiration and added your own talent, right? Love the simplicity, especially, of the card for CASology. Thanks so much for playing along this week.

Love those sweet grandkids...such a cute story! Also loving your card, Bev - I have a few songs running through my head, wondering which one was in yours? Thanks so much for sharing with us at Muse, and superbly CASEing Ardyth - a feat in itself!

Bev, both cards are quite lovely! You were inspired by two very lovely ladies and their cards, and you've made them both your own in your own lovely way! It's funny, I just bought that sentiment set, too...it's in my pile of NBUS! I love how you paired it with two very pretty hearts. And your thank you card is wonderful with that bold, black frame! Well done, Bev! Thanks for joining us at CASology this week!

Aww, that is so awesome that your grandson was making cards with you and was writing down the directions on how to make one, too cute! I'm anxious to see if they send you a card(s) back too. lol Michele encouraged me to enter the Muse challenge too. I love your card Bev! Perfect CAS card! And I also love your CASE of Ardyth's card, it is fabulous! I agree, Ardyth is the queen of CAS and I adore all her cards too. I love how her mind works and wish mine worked that well. lol Hugs, Brenda

Well, shucks, ma'am, what a lovely surprise to come here and see not only your beautiful take on this week's Muse (I love that it has two hearts!) but all sorts of lovely words about me PLUS a fantastic case of one of my cards (which, as I recall was a CASE of someone else!). Thanks so much for your friendship - I treasure it! And thanks for playing with us at Muse this week!

Oops, and CASology! (and I'm sorry that the Packers lost - my sister said it was sad to watch!)

Oh Bev, how fun are Carter's instructions ... I'm certain he'd rather just craft with Grammy that write stuff down! Oh Happy Day ... what a perfect song-sentiment for those delicious shimmery hearts set into that linen CS ... such a gorgeous card (thanks for the mention ... you're so, so welcome!) You did such a great job choosing one of Ardyth's awesome cards to CASE ... and then did another awesome job creating your take on it, it's simply gorgeous ... the blended background has me just staring! Hugs to you, sweet friend ... bisous, bisous, Anita :)

Love your muses and your "resultses"! That game? What's one to do? Forget it ever happened and count the days til summer😄

Ah, nothing like those grands! I love what Conner wrote for directions! I'm sorry I'm so late getting to this entry in my NBUS Challege. (I didn't quite get through all the CASology ones before it closed.) It's wonderful for all of us to see we aren't alone in how much unused schtuff we have lurking about!

I am in love with your MUSE card. Period. I think it should have been in the winners, if you ask me. It's truly CASlicious and totally reflects the inspiration IMHO! Thank you so much for entering it in both challenges!

Can I just say, also, that you NAILED your CASE of Ardy and that's not an easy thing to do! I mean, n.a.i.l.e.d.!!! You need to hang that one on your wall!

I hope you have a great day and thanks again, my friend!! Hugs, Darnell

Darnell said...

Ahem, so you KNOW I have trouble with people's names, which is why I'm always using nicknames. Let me know, won't you, if Carter minds if I call him Conner? Thank you.

Geri said...

First of, apologies for being so far behind in commenting!

Sweet Carter (aka Conner) has us all swooning over his sweet note!

Your MUSE card is absolutely stunning! And I agree with Darnell that it should have been in the winners circle!

Your CASE of Ardyth...shut the front door! It could not be any more perfect! Your inking is stunning and I love the sentiments that you chose - nice pairing of script with block!

I am in Geri's corner...just a bit behind in my commenting. Just so fun my sweet friend. Love your NBUS card, so sweet with the pair of hearts, just beautiful. And you case of Ardyth's card...AMAZING and I am sure Ardyth is just so flattered, this is fabulous.

Hello, my friend..if anyone needs to apologize for late commenting, my hand is raised high! I'm here now, giggling at Carter's very CLEAR instructions on how to CUT and FOLD precisely! How cute is that! What a gem...and how heart-warming to know he's immersed with creativity, just like is awesome Grandma. Your cards...swooning, my friend, full-fledged swooning! The first is CAS-ilicious stunning (I spy linen paper from Anita); the second, jaw-dropping beautiful! WOW to the nth degree!
