Happy Sunday

Well, the weekend is winding down, and it's been a beautiful one here, weather-wise. The sun is still shining, and with all the rain we've had here (last week...), the grass has greened up nicely. Did a few things outdoors today, but then while I was weeding the roses, I had a PING! Since the Cue Card went up at CASology, I've wanted to play. I think my recycle bin is half full of poor attempts. Until this one. This one worked. It's for our granddaughter Melissa, who has just completed her first year at UW, and is about to embark upon a summer long tour with a Drum & Bugle corps. She's on the drum line. And she's good...really good. We will miss her, of course, but know she'll make new friends and impress them thoroughly with her talents. So this one will go to her. I know she'll make a huge splash!

After fretting over this all week, my "showable" card was pretty easy to make...

I used 'Dream Orphans' computer generated font. I found a free clip art file that looked like water splashes and printed it on a transparency sheet, trimmed it, and cut a frame with my Cameo. It's popped up to give the water some depth. Then I added three white sequins next to the 'H'. And that's all it took. It looks sooo cool irl. I think it might be one of my top 20 favorites. Sure hope your upcoming week is full of happy dances!

Well you made a splash with your card. What a neat idea. I'm so far behind on challenges, homework and everything else. Maybe I can get straightened around this week. Or do I need to garden to get a pin? ;)

I had to check and make sure this wasn't REAL water you trapped in a shaker ... hahaha!! This really turned out well, Bev!

This is THE BEST CARD IDEA EVER!!!

Seriously beyond amazing and brilliant! This is exactly the type of card that a card magazine needs to snap up!

Like Kelly, I also thought that you actually trapped water within a plastic bag!

The mother of all pings, without a doubt!

WOW!!!!!!!!

Genius! Bev, this is awesome ... I've just sat and looked at it for ages wondering how you got that watery effect ... so cool, so stunning ... and sooo refreshing!! I see your Mr Mojo returned with bells and whistles on, my friend ... my Monsieur Mojo is still AWOL, so the paper bin is very full ... again! Anita :)

Printing on a transparency - you're brave. What a great idea for this card, though. And one day I'll have to drop in to see your fireplace ;) I so love art deco.

Missing her will be challenging, but think of the reunion when she comes home! so many stories to share, and so many big squishy hugs to give! Your splash card is brilliant x awesome x amazing! Printing on transparency = super cool! What an incredible "ping" and I know Melissa will love this, as do I!! Hugs~c
