New Year's Resolutions

I don't do them. Period. For me, resolutions are just specific set-ups for personal failures. So I'm not making any. Ever. What I do consider, though, are small ideas and changes that I feel I can manage most of the time. Ideas or changes that if I need to, I can skip a day or two, or modify as necessary. For example; I need to lose weight, but regular dieting and exercise are more than difficult in my case. Migraines factor into it. I'm one of those "lucky" migraineurs with oh, about a million different triggers, and many of them foods. No citrus, no juice, no seeds, no beans or legumes, no berries or cherries, no onions, no peppers, most fruits are out as well... You get the drift. And who can do the whole morning exercise routine thing when you wake up with a doozy headache! But if I build in flexible, then I can manage. What's with all this meaningless blathering you might ask? Well, over at CAS-ual Fridays, they've seemingly read my mind. A WORD that we hope will direct us. So I've chosen "Smile". I do smile. But I want to smile more about things that would normally make me crazy. And if I manage to do so with half of the things that would normally put me in a "what the heck????!!!!!" mood, that's way better than nothing! Darnell's got it going on at her blog too, check out her link here. Poof (or pooh...) to the things that get me worked up.

Kept it all CAS. But went with brights:

EZPZ. An MFT stamp using Ranger embossing ink and powder. Copics and Sharpies to color. A few snips of brightly colored cardstock from my scrapbox and that's it. Hope it's warm where you are. Happy dances everyone.

I LOVE your word! YES! Sometimes we just need to let go (poof!) and smile. It can change everything, and all it takes is a little muscle movement! Your beautiful, colourful card symbolizes your perfect word, perfectly!!!

I am right there with you on resolutions...I'm terrible at them and it adds more pressure. I don't need more pressure...I manage enough of that one my own :) My word would be relax....started looking for a stamp with it on it, but got distracted! I love SMILE! Perfect....your card is so happy and cheery.

I think smiles really would change the world, and throwing in a laugh or two wouldn't hurt. The bright colors of your card make me smile. And so do a few happy dances. :) :)

Words to live by Bev. I had planned on a few resolutions for myself this year but hesitated to call them such. I like your idea of small ideas and changes. That I hope I can accomplish and I hope you do too!

Bev...I love your word! It is something I do almost all day and laugh too and loud, my family will not go the movies with me because of that, but I don't care, it is their lose. I have to agree with you about resolutions, I don't make them either. I find 3 words and go from there, mine are complete, thrive and positive, so much more for than making goals that I will not keep. Sorry to ramble on...now for your amazing card and it is so true, one smile from anyone can make so many amazing changes and I will always think of you now when I smile, so what a fun way to make the world a better place. Wishing you as many migraine free days as you can get!

I'm sprinting in (darn computer) to catch up with your AWESOME, dazzling, bright, cheerful card! Your resolution has had an influecne on me: I'm grinning from ear to ear with what you've shared! And your post: yes, yes, and yes! A good finger-flicking poof, combined with a wide smile just makes everything brighter - and you, my dear friend, bring a smile my way every time I think of you!! Hope you're safe and warm, enjoying some crafty time, free from YKWs. I'm joining Geri in calling winner, winner on this showstopper!! Hugs~c

Bev, this looks like something you'd pick up at a Hallmark store to be put in a frame! Looks like you had a great time coloring. Good luck with your word in 2014, love your attitude. And, thanks so much for joining the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

I'm laughing aloud. Before I even got to the part where you mentioned Darnell - I was thinking how good you are at "poofing"!! You would have to be good at it to be able smile through everything!

Aren't these Sunny Day Doodles stamps so much fun to color??! I got one of the sets when I did some guest posts for them. I don't think I would have ordered it on my own just because I'm not real sure who I would give these cards to. But now that I got a chance to play with them - I'm watching the MFT releases for more!! They are SO much fun. I love your bright primaries and I love the shading on "world"!
