Twofer Challenge #36

Before I get to the current Twofer Challenge (which you'll love btw...), I was wondering if anyone else is as tired of winter/snow/cold, and the Corona virus as I am? I'm waaaaaay more than ready for in person visits to my local coffee shop WITH girlfriends, sandals, an entire day at the salon complete with a haircut, mani and pedi, and a trip to the garden store. Maybe even some traveling to see family and crafty friends. And now, of course, I hear my mother's voice in my head going, "Make the best out of a bad situation," and "This too shall pass." So I guess I will, and it shall. Sometimes a girl has just got to whine a little, lol! Maybe instead, I should "wine" a little, hahahahaha!

But what you really came here for was The Twofer Challenge, wasn't it? So without further ado...This month, it'a allllll up to you. As in a stamp/die/stencil of your choice, and using the Twofer rules. Two different cards for two different occasions, using the same stamp/die/stencil on both cards. I'll show you mine in a minute.

My choice was chickens.

And here they are individually:

Both cards use the EH Good Egg set.

For my birthday card, I stamped a panel of chicken wire using a very old Market Street stamp, and then added an RC frame in green around it. I stamped, colored, and die cut Mrs. Chicken, and gave her a 'happy birthday' from HA inside a LF speech bubble. EZPZ.

For the Valentine, I used Mrs. Chicken again, but added a Mr. Rooster. The tiny heart was from an ancient punch, but as I don't read hieroglyphics, I can't tell you who made it (that's how long I've had it!). I used a SSS heart to make an aperture in that happy and bright patterned paper for those two love birds (hahahahaha!). And then I computer generated a sentiment. Bam! Done!

It would be lovely to see you in the gallery this month. And don't forget to stop by the Twofer blog and see what the other DT members have created. Sensational! Also this month, we have as Guest Designers, Nancy Littrell and Klara. Thanks for joining us Nancy and Klara! See you all in the gallery, right?!! And as always...

Well, isn't Madame Poule looking all perky in her squeaky clean enclosure, Bev ... good thing she's got that grass frame around it ... a little bit of garden is good for everyone! Your two love-heart birds make the cutest couple all surrounded by those bold polka dotty spots ... and what a brilliant sentiment ... clucky indeed! Yep, so ready to lead a normal life again ... instead of this abnormal one we're going through just now. As you say ... this too shall pass ... one of these days! Missing you, mon amie ... big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

Oh how FUN!! I love your chicken wire stamp and now I want to dig out one I have had for years. I love the slight coloring and your green frame. For the second card, I adore that sentiment. The red pattern paper is perfection with that little heart cut out of it.

And I agree. I am over winter and Covid. My life has been somewhat normal as I have been back to work, in person at a school since September. However, I miss my friends and just going anywhere at a whim. I am not comfortable, still, doing any of that yet. Big Hugs Bev!! This too shall pass!

For a minute there I thought your mom was my mom Bev..."This too shall pass"...hahahaha!!! Yep, same thing she told me, 'cept starting to wonder if it's true??? Sure does seem like forever since the world was "normal"...ok, ok, we won't even go there, but you know what I mean?!! RIGHT??!! Anyhoo...your chickens are positively delightful Bev!! The chicken wire is the perfect background for Mrs. Chicken (she IS married, right??) and I love that green frame too! Your 2nd card is just as sweet as can be with the two of them encased by the dsp heart, and that sentiment just couldn't be any more perfect!! Fun, FUN cards my friend!! Take care and stay safe!! Lots of hugs!! :0)

Haha I love the Valentine sentiment, its right up my street as I'm allergic to overly soppy mush lol... Great CAS birthday card and very girlfriend ready, its clean and fun :)

I'm very over Covid Bev but sadly it still rumbles on here in UK, its sometimes very hard to feel positive when there is so much doom and gloom around and I miss seeing people have fun, being together instead we're all social pariahs :'(

One day eh and oh... my hair, really, there are no words for that mess!

Despite everything I hope you're keeping well, take care, stay snug n safe x

First of all, you are not the only one to be tired of winter and Corona. There are the same feelings on the other part of the world too. :-)
But I'm here to tell you, that your chicken twofer is fantastic. :-) Super cute birthday and fabulous Valentine card. I like the motive of chicken you've used for to create those cards.
Hugs, Sonja

I am feeling very very lucky to be here in Australia where crossed fingers things are sooo much better than what you are experiencing, so I'm sending big warm Summery hugs your way, and to your cute little chickens too!

Your chickens and rooster are such fun, Bev! Love the chicken wire and how the pair make a perfect Valentine! Hopefully we're on the way to things being more normal! Meanwhile sharing our cards online is a wonderful distraction!

I just love your fun chickie card designs, Bevie! I really need that frame and am trying to finger out RC, but it's too early for my brain. It's perfect around the chicken wire and you remind me of how many of those convo bubble stamps and dies I have ... NBUS, of course! And your romantic card of woo is adorable with the love birds and your clever punny sediment! Love the pp, too!

It shouldn't be long before you are vaccinated and that will bring new light and life to your world ... not to mention springtime and daylight savings which will also bring light to your world. I find that always helps because sunshine is so rejoovinating. I had a lunch yesterday here with two girlfriends and it lasted four hours!! So just be patient a little longer!! Love and miss you, Darnell

I am with you Bev, I'm sick of it all! Had a week of very nice weather and that just made my cabin fever/Covid fatigue worse because I know it is going back away. But Spring is just right around the corner, we just gotta be patient I guess. But I tell you, I'm so ready that I'm even ready to get out on the mower to mow! lol

Your twofers are adorable! I love the birthday chic card, the chicken wire is so cool, love that frame, but mostly love that chic! A fun birthday card for sure. Your second card is perfect for a Valentine or even a fun anniversary card. Love that clever sentiment you made, love the heart cut out and love Miss Chic and Mr. Rooster with the heart between them. Such cute, cute, cute cards! Hugs, Brenda

Cute cards. And yes, it is getting to me too. I rarely leave the house... I miss two things the most. My family, of course, and getting together with my crafty friends to craft!

Oh Bev, I love that punny sentiment. It cracks me up! The chicken wire background is a great pen for the chicken on the first card.
