Twofer Challenge #24

Well here we are in February already. Time is just flying by, isn't it? I've got a pair of "sweet" cards to show you today. This time around, The Twofer Challenge is all about the fruit! My Twofer cards have cherries on them. And wouldn't you know, when I looked for cherries in the produce department the other day, not a one was to be found. I made myself crave cherries while I was making this pear pair. I love cherries, don't you?! There are so many ways you can 'do' fruit this month -- so come on and play along!

Here is a photo of them together:

And here they are individually:

For my first card, which is a congratulatory card, I used two papers from a 6x6 pad called, "B-Side," by Basic Grey; the pink abstract base and the black and white square. The sentiment is from SSS and those cherries are MB dies. I used an ancient piece of subtle, self-adhesive glitter paper, which is so old, the adhesive part doesn't work anymore, lol! It didn't photograph all that well, but it truly is in the same color family as the pink patterned paper.
Card number two is a birthday card, and is pretty darn CAS. A scrap of polka dots in red, Doodlebug I think, and then scraps of red and green for the border and the cherries. I added some Glossy Accents to the cherries, and they look so fun irl. The sentiment is from Sunny Studio.

Be sure to stop by The Twofer Blog and see what the rest of the DT has created and leave them a little love. I guarantee that you'll adore their cards, and will be craving something delicious as well. And don't forget to swing by our Guest Designer, Sonja's blog to see what yummy cards she's created, too! See you in the gallery, and as always...

I love cherries and I also like them in chocolates! Beautiful CAS cards and so very pretty with very different designs and I had a little chuckle about the self adhesive glitter paper no longer being sticky! x.

Two really delicious-looking card designs, Bevie! When is cherry season? April? Well, never mind, you have made it cherry season on your blog with these yummy cards! I love how you made the cherrries tumble through your square panel on your first design and the polkie-dotted panel on your wonderfully sweet second design! Both brilliantly QACAS! Miss you! Hugs, Darnell

two great cards, isn't if funny when you find stuff in your stash and so old that you have to be even more creative with it :) I have a Cherry stamp, great encouragement to use it :)

Do I like cherries?? I spent all my summer's as a kid on my grandpa's cherry farm in Old Mission Peninsula, just north of Traverse City which is the cherry capitol of the world! And sweet cherries don't come out till late June, early July in Michigan (if you want the best!), so that's probably why you didn't find any in the produce aisle. There's always frozen, but it's just not the same, is it?!! But anyway, I digress...your cards are totally sweet my friend! I love how you kept both so CAS and yet so striking AND FUN at the same time!! And you know I LOVE me some polka dot paper, so there's nothing not to love about both cards Bev! Hugs. :0)

I do love cherries and now you've got me craving them, too! I believe I have some dried... in a trail mix... Not the same at all! How pretty these cards are! You really made those dies work for you. I especially adore the birthday card 'cause it's so clean and simple and it has polka dots!

I love cherries, especially in pie Bev, but they also look good on your sweet cards.

These are both great cards using one of my favorite fruits. Cherries are so good for you and we don't have a very long season for them so I have to grab them while I can. I think that polka dot paper in red looks great with the cherries.

Positively mouth watering, Bev ... and wonderfully sweet! These are both scrumptiously fresh and CAS ... and have me longing for cherries ... flan, pie, cobbler, chocolates ... any which way really!! Miss you, my lovely friend ... sending big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

Cherries are one of my very favorite fruits so I am smitten with your cards, Bev! I love the cool way you displayed those cherries on a square of texture for your congratulatory card. Those cherry colored polka dots and vibrant green on your cherry birthday card reminds me of a cute little dress (that would get dirty in a hurry). We pick the tart cherries in Door County and Gene makes his own maraschino cherries out of them!

What fun twofer cards Bev! I am loving those cherries and yes, I love to eat them too. Never in our grocery store until the spring, so then I will buy the frozen ones from time to time. And even they aren't available all the time. Anyway, that cherry die is awesome! Loving the paper on the "celebrating you" card, it is cool looking and the cherries look great on it. The second card is indeed CAS and I love it too! That pretty polka dot paper is fun with the narrow green stripe. Then the cherries hanging below it with the sentiment is perfect. So cute! Hugs, Brenda

I love your cherry cards Bev and am impressed that you got the Glossy Accents out and gave the cherries on your second card a nice shine - and all without the kind of swearing and crossness that happens here when I can't get any out! (Or at least you didn't mention it!) I love the colours you've used and I don't know why, but cherries always go beautifully with polka dots but they go pretty well with the abstract paper. Vicky x
PS SO impressed by your rafting even if there weren't rapids involved!
