Twofer Card Challenge #18

Well hello there! Summer is in full swing, and those lazy, hazy, crazy days are here. It's time for beaching it, wearing your sandals, and enjoying all that this time of year has to offer. How are your flower beds? Mine need a bit of weeding, but all those buds and blossoms make me smile each time I step outside. Keeping that in mind, our prompt for this month's Twofer Challenge is:

You should see my neighbor Michael's garden...simply stunning! Glad we live right next door to each other; and I'm able enjoy the fruits of his labor all Spring, Summer, and Fall!

Let's have a gander my Twofer:

The first is a 'Get Well' card, and the second is a 'Thank You' card.

A tiny garden. A garden in a pot?! This is where my mind took me for this first card. The front panel is a pink and white "polka hearted" paper from LF. There are a couple of gray scraps to frame the center panel, and the flowers are from SSS's Wild Beauty set. As is the sentiment. I drew in the stems and leaves and colored the blooms with Copics. Pretty EZPZ. (I liked this design so much that I actually made several for various occasions! Won't add the photos though...)

While I left the front blank, the inside has a great big 'thank you' from a WPlus9 set. I really didn't want to detract from that flower garden! The sky and grass papers are from my scrap files. That's a LF fence, and the grass die is from MFT. I did die cut a sun, but since I wanted the focus to be on the flowers, I removed it. All the flowers are from the same SSS Wild beauty set, and I colored them with Copics.

So there you have it. My gardens. I can't wait to see where your minds take you! I am really looking forward to your cards in the gallery. And stop by the DTs blog to see what they've made, too. Now I think I'll go make a margarita, grab the chaise lounge and look at Michael's garden...hey, it's much more fun than actually weeding mine!

Bev, I am loving how your garden grows. The pink card with those wild and darling blooms is an eye catcher. The rest of the wild bunch looks fabulous straining to get past that picket fence. Lovely set of twofers.

Aw, polka-hearted! How sweet is that? I love that pp for the side panels of your pretty pink bouquet, Bevie! This is bound to cheer up even the most sickiest person! I love the composition and think you did an awesome job drawing the stems and leaves! As for your thank you card, you have perfectly captured Michael's garden on the other side of your fence! You should give him this one the next time he helps you out. Again, perfect pp for this and great job coloring your garden with your Copics!! Hugs, Darnell

Last time I saw Michael's garden, the grass was brown and we were still getting snow! I'm loving your two gardens! So cool how you selected the one flower to use on your hugs and kisses card. I love the vertical flow you created. Your flowers behind the fence makes me think that you really did use Michael's yard for inspiration! I'm sorry I missed you this morning. I was taking Elle for senior portraits.

Two fab cards with that flower image, Bev! Especially love the row of flowers behind the fence!! My neighbor has a lovely garden too - I'm sure it pains her to look at my simple grass yard.

The lovely simplicity of your first card warrants multiples, Bev. It's such a great design. I'm loving that white picket fence holding back the colorful blooms on your thank you card.

I love your sweet flowers Bev! The first card is so sweet with the heart paper. I can see why you made multiples to have on hand. The second is an adorable garden with your picket fence and all different blooms. So cute! xx

From where I'm sitting your garden is growing fabulously well Bev...and you even have polka dots and polka hearts that just make them both that much more FABULOUS!! LOVE the design layout of your 1st card and can see why you made several with the different sentiments...when you've got a winner it's a good idea to capitalize on it!! Your 2nd card is SOOOOO bright and cheery and must look just like Michael's garden, hmmmm?? And I love that DSP you used for the grass...how perfect is that?!! Two lovely, lovely cards Bev! Have a great weekend my friend. Hugs. :0)

Pretty gardens, Bev, and while I do love the design of the first card, I adore the scene of the second! Very pretty, and it kind of takes you away into a happy dance of the heart :o)

Happy Margarita-ing!

What a delightful pair of cards with all those colorful flowers! I just love the tiny hearts on the first one that perfectly compliment the flowers, and the entire garden of flowers growing over the fence on the 2nd card is just perfect for summer! So sorry about your orange roses, but I had the same thing happen to my peonies! I planted red, white, and pink ones, and the 2nd year they all bloomed in pink!

Hello, Bev! I'm late to visit as we've just returned from a week away. Lots of catching up to do! You're so good with the Twofers and these cards are perfect examples. They couldn't be more different and they're both just as pretty and cheerful as can be. My garden needs some attention now that we're home. It's a beautiful day and I must get out there! Hugs!

Your two garden cards are lovely! I really like the vertical one. I have this stamp set too and the flower you chose is my favourite from the set.
