I had a few cars in my stash of stamps, but they didn't call my name. I went through the list of wheely-thingies in my head... Cars, trucks, Ferris, color, steering, of fortunes, bikes...well you get the idea. Nothing struck my fancy. Then I remembered an older PTI set with an airplane and knew it had at least one visible wheel! Yep. That was just the ticket for me! See for yourself:
And individually:
This little airplane definitely has "wheels." For the birthday card, I have to tell you I was so inspired by another blogger, Andrea Tracy-Tucker. I just had to CASE one of her cards, which you can find on her blog here. I used all scraps for this card, except for that pretty plaid. That was an ancient 12x12. All MFT dies except for the leafy thingy around the circle; that's a Little B. There are three gray enamel dots, a bit of twine, and done.
For the second card, I grabbed a green polka dotted scrap for the hills. The clouds are LF scalloped edges and the 'flying by...' is also from LF. The sun is from Hello Bluebird, the plane and his banner are PTI, and I did some Copic coloring. I added dots around the clouds just because. And there you have it. One stamp, two different designs, for two different occasions.
Sure hope to see you in the Twofer gallery. Do come and play! And as always...

The birthday card reminds me of one I made a long time ago, Bev. I may have even had the same DSP. It's a great masculine card in its style and color. The other one is colorful and fun. I love that you used polka dots for the grass. And all those different companies played so well together.
Both are lovely cards but I really like your congratulations card. The way you have created the clouds and the ground are wonderful. The 2 layers for the ground and the spotty paper really give a sense of texture to the ground and the detail of the little sun shining in the sky is just great xx
Two wonderful cards Bev!! Love your first card with the offset panels and that lovely plaid. The airplane is just perfect with that little wheel at the bottom. :) Your Congrats card is a fun scene with the patterned paper and the sunny skies. Lots of bright colours! xx
What a cute little plane, Bevie! I love the offset layering on your birthday card with that gorgeous color of plaid and how you've added the twine and bling. The spiffy circular focus pocus finishes your great manly card! Your congratulations design is cheery and colorful with the fluffy clouds and sweet pop of yellow sun. I love the dotty hills and how you flew your sediment behind the bright orange plane! Thinking of you and sending hugs, Darnell
great idea using a plane. I think I need one for some masculine cards :)
Plaid, and polkas in one post?? Be still my heart! Just darling - and that plane is totally new to me, and just as cute [and perfect-wheelie!] as can be, Bev.
You know, if you hadn't mentioned the twine, I might have thought it was the rubberband we used to use to wind the propeller! lol

Oh I LOVE the simplicity of the first card with the fun plaid!! The second card you created such a fun, little scene with an ORANGE plane!! Such cute design!
I love the list you ran through your head. There are a few of those I sure didn't think of! See how creative you are? Ultimately you certainly came up with two cute cards with the airplane! The birthday card is great for a guy and the congrats card could be masculine, too, but it's so cute it could go either way. There's a lot of sunshiny cheer in that card!
What a great scene for your congratulations card. Clouds and grassy hills - perfect to see in an airplane ride. Pretty plaid paper for your birthday card.
Two FABULOUS cards Bev, and I had to chuckle when I saw what you used for "wheels" as I just pulled this stamp set out to make a tag for my grandson's birthday...guess our great minds are thinking alike! But anyway, love the simplicity of your 1st card and all the wonderful color in your 2nd card!! Well done my friend...love them both!! Hugs. :0)
This was a wonderful way to use the plane in two very different cards! I love the masculine plaid card - it has an earthy, organic look to it. Your congrats card is bright and fun with your dotted hills and orange plane. I hope you're getting some rest and that you had a good Mother's Day.
That is a cute little plane, Bev ... you've given it a delicious masculine vibe with those cool aquas and greys ... and that fabulous background plaid! Your colouring on it on your bright, vibrant congratulations card is awesome ... such a brillaint, layered, polka-dotty little scene ... and so fun! My apologies I'm so late coming by ... the tunnel of life has taken over everything for the last couple of weeks and I'm just coming out the other end today!! Thinking of you both and missing you, my sweet friend ... big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
