Twofer Challenge #7

While I've been mostly absent, I took a few minutes throughout the last Twofer Challenge to peek at all those wonderful tree cards. You all have such amazing talents!! Congratulations to the winners and the Honorable Mentions! Hope to see you in the gallery for this challenge, where the prompt is, "Beverage." Oh so many choices! I almost went with a beer bottle stamp, but instead chose coffee for my cards (big surprise there, right?!).

Here they are photographed together:

And separately:

The card with the chevron panel is actually a birthday card for a dear friend, while the second card is for my friend and hairdresser who came to my house to give me a haircut when I couldn't leave DH for an hour to go to her salon. I've used a vast variety of stamps and dies on these cards, and the list is as follows starting with the top card:
Doodlebug chevron paper, MFT wonky frame die, PTI cups, Verve sentiment, MFT hearts.
And the bottom card:
Hero Arts green cardstock, unknown gingham paper, Verve sentiment, PTI cup, Poppystamps leaf die, Mama Elephant scalloped border die, MFT scalloped circle, and a WPlus9 circle die.

Now...if you haven't popped over to the Twofer Challenge Blog yet, I'd encourage you to do just that! My teammates have once again really smashed it out of the park, and you'll be amazed at their creations. And be sure to check out our Guest Designers, Bonnie and Marianne, too! Once you've been inspired by all the lovely cards you find there, I hope you'll play along! Just make two different cards for two different occasions using the same stamps and/or dies. Don't forget to photograph them together when you're ready to pop them in the gallery.

(You can skip this next part if you want...)
In case you've been wondering, DH has been dealing with some health issues since the first of the year. At nearly 81 years old, these things happen sometimes. He'd been losing strength in his legs, and after three angioplasties in his lower legs, which helped his circulation, the strength continued to decline. About six weeks ago, he literally collapsed in a chair and couldn't get up. After a trip to the ER, and a four-day hospital stay, he's been in a rehab unit rebuilding his abilities. Our house was pretty well set up for his using the walker, but it needed to be tweaked a bit. So that's what I've been doing in between driving to and from the Rehab Center and spending time with him there. I finished all the big projects and he did well on a home visit with one of his Physical Therapists in attendance. She was pleased with our 'set-up,' and with his maneuvering around the house. He should be home in a few days, and once I get him into a good routine, I hope to be back much more in blogland. But for today, I need to go spend time with my sweetie pie. Take care, and ...

Oh my, rainbow chevrons, Bev ... what a simply splendid and downright happy background for those sweet heart coffee cups ... and that sentiment is just too cute! I love the freshness of the crisp white and green in your Twofer ... the gingham is delicious ... so pretty with the scalloped stitched border and frame! It's positively reviving! You know you're staying in my thoughts and prayers, mon amie ... big hugs & bisous, Anita :)

First of all, I hope your sweetie pie does get home with renewed strength and energy, which will make it easier for you. I send my hugs and prayers, my friend!

YOU smashed these cards out of the park! They are both so bright and bold and perfect for summertime! I love all the elements of both designs, which are easily CASEable so they are going in my folder. I happen to have some of that rainbow chevron paper and quite of bit of gingham ... Mwah!! Hugs and love, Darnell

Love these bright and happy cards, Bev! The bright colors on the first card speak "celebrate" to me. The crisp green and white of the second are cool and crisp! Hope your husband is feeling better very soon.

That rainbow chevron background makes my heart beat faster - it is so delightful! As is the whole card! Your friend must have loved it! How sweet of your hairdresser friend to come to your house for a cut! I am sure she enjoyed this lovely looking card - love the fresh color theme of green and white!
I have to say it again - your hubby is so lucky to have you! Thinking of your both and wishing you much strength and patience! Hugs!

Two very sweet coffee cup cards Bev. Love the bright colours of the first one with the chevron pattern in the back. And your second one is so pretty with circle aperture and leafy sprig. So happy that you had a bit of time to play in your studio ... I'm sure it's a good stress reliever when you have time.

Sending love and healing thoughts to you and your hubby. I hope he is home really soon and life settles into a good routine quickly. Love, Loll

Two absolutely wonderful coffee cards, Bev. I love the patterned papers that you used to show off the cups. My prayers are with you and John as he makes the adjustment to home after being in rehab. With you by his side things will go smoothly I'm sure.

I sure hope all goes well with getting your DH home and both of you can get some rest. It looks like neither of us has posted anything since the last Twofer Challenge. I usually take it slower in the summertime with the kids being home more. Your cards are both wonderful! Your bright chevrons and sweet gingham give your lattes two very different looks!

I just love the papers you chose for both of your cards! The chevrons are so bright and cheerful and I love the little heart on the coffee cup too! As for #2, I just love gingham in any color so that card just won me over right from the get-go! I love the curvy border and scalloped circle with the stem - it all works beautifully together! Thanks for taking time to leave me a comment with all that's going on in your life! I wish your hubby well and I certainly hope you're taking care of your own health issues as well! Sometimes when it rains it pours doesn't it? Sending healing hugs your way for both of you :)

Sending prayers for you and hubby and for his return home. It sounds like he has everything he needs when he gets home. I love these cute cards. That chevron paper is lovely and so fun for a birthday card, I think you friend will be so happy with it. Treasure your hairdresser for coming to your home, she is a jewel. I am a pushover for gingham paper and this is such a gorgeous color and both cards are designed and laid out so great.
