It's almost like watching little ones grow. When some of my favorite challenges celebrate a 'birthday,' like
Less Is More, I wonder where the time went! These days, my craft time is more limited than it used to be, but I knew I wanted to play along at LIM in order to wish them a very happy birthday. I've seen so many fun cards in the gallery, and had to make a little something. Four of my grandchildren, all in the same family, are percussionists. They come by it honestly, as their parents are too. They've also played piano, violin, viola, and guitar as well. A musical family to say the least. A while back, a dear friend RAKed me with this cute Avery Elle set, and I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. This birthday celebration is the perfect time to break it out! Thanks,
Darnell!!
Happy Birthday, Less Is More!
As mentioned, this is a set from Avery Elle. I used a star from a N&T set, and gave the drummer a striped shirt with a scrap of patterned paper. I colored the cymbals and the edges of the drums with some ancient silver and gold gel pens, and used Copics to color the rest. To add just a dash of dimension, I cut the panel with an MFT circle die. And that's it. Happiest of Birthdays, Less Is More! As always...

Definitely looking very suave in his striped shirt!
How absolutely perfect for your musical family!! I love the bright star and striped shirt that you've added to the image. I've got music flowing through my family too with piano, hammered dulcimer, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and baritone - but not a single percussionist. I'm actually grateful - I can't imagine the headaches that come from four family members learning percussion!
Your little family drummer looks awesome indeed sitting inside that circle design, Bevie! I love that you went to the trouble of paper-piecing him a striped shirt and the addition of the star is perfect!! You're very welcome!! Hugs, Darnell xxoo
That paper pieced shirt is fabulous, Bev. I love your little drummer boy. I was a percussionist back in the day, for a little while, but it's my grandson-in-law who is the expert.
What a fun image, especially for your musical family! I love his striped shirt and your clean design. So cute how his tongue is sticking out like that. I had a friend that did that when she played piano. We were in conducting class together (music majors at UWEC) and she stuck her tongue out when she was conducting too!
What a perfect image for cards for your grandchildren. And fantastic attention to detail, the paper pieced shirt looks fab!
Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
I love this card Bev! Such a happy image any you can almost hear the (racket) ahem, beat that he is pounding out ;-) Such a great make for your grandchildren. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx
This is such an awesome card! Loving the fun design - perfect, and reminds me of my younger brothers for some reason...! :D Thanks for sharing!
What a talented family, Bev ... and what a perfect card for them ... the detailing on this wild little drummer is brilliant ... he's kind of Beatles-like! Big hugs, my friend! Anita :)
What a perfect card for a member of this musical family! The drummer looks so sweet!
Hugs,
Susanne
