Belated Birthday Wishes

I've missed a few of my dear friends' birthdays. Been a little wrapped up in things around here, but I actually did remember their days. I'll offer up DH as an excuse and leave it at that! Managed to get a couple of early mornings in the old craft room while my sweetie pie was sleeping in. And while he's watching my Cubbies win their game, (all settled in and safe in his recliner) I'm doing a quick post. Will just post a couple of cards for today.

First up is a card for Muse, where the ever wonderful Leigh Penner is guest designing this week. I used her layers as my inspiration. Let's peek at Leigh's card, shall we?

How cute is that?! Love the woodgrain she's used for this FD card. Mine is a bit different, but you can see my "exploded" layers which mimic hers.

Next is another birthday card. I made this card first, then went searching for a challenge; took me a second to find SSS Monday with a monochromatic theme.

Will catch you later kids; DH needs me again. Should you want/need the deets about either card, shoot me an email and I'll get back to you. Happy dances everyone.

Hi Bev, It's nice to see you about again. Glad you had time for a little crafting. They are both lovely cards. The birthday cake is such pretty colours and the white embossing looks beautiful on that lovely blue card. I'm pleased that your DH enjoyed the game. Barbxx

Love both cards. Very intrigued with your first card and wondering is this a birthday cake stamp set or did you come up with the design with bits and pieces. Its so clever, I love it and have always loved that other stamp, the leaves(petals) embossed on the blue background. Wonderful.
Hope you are both well and life is not hitting you with anymore heartache. Hugs xx Aileen

Oh Bev, I am loving both of your cards! The cake is a perfect take on the burger card. I love blue and white of your second card. Also love those leaves too. Finally saw my first tree with these leaves and was smitten right away. Great cards my friend and glad you were able to play a bit in the craft room. Hugs, Brenda

So nice to see you back in the playground! You obviously do early mornings very, VERY well!

I'm so with Ardyth on the 'loving the graphicness' of the cake card!!! Super color combo too! The monochromic card is stunningly simple and elegant!

Sure hope you can fit in a few more early morning card sessions!

Did you hear me cheering and applauding when your post appeared in my Feedly! I was VERYloud! Your early morning playground session sees me beaming with delight! I second and third both Ardyth and Geri: your cake is graphic gorgeous, as well as MUSE brilliant, innovative and ingenious! Love all those delicious, luscious layers! Your gingko card: classy! We're off to bike races this afternoon - an evening event followed by an early morning drive tomorrow for the second part. Tiring, but fun....and the weather promises to be wonderful. I've tasked my husband with finding a race in your area; he's on it!!
Hugs and misses (big misses!!)

I'm so glad you are getting some chance to craft. A day is always better if you've spent some time with stamps and ink - life just doesn't allow for it, does it? What a contrast in these cards. The birthday card is SO fun - totally eye-catching. The monochromatic card is equally eye-catching in its simplicity. LOVE them.
