Pink

Some of my favorite flowers ever were some tall, later-blooming tulips called Esther. I'll bet they were three feet high and the blooms themselves were bigger than my fists. And they were the most lovely shade of pink. I'd planted them at my old house, and if I were outside with the little ones, passers by would often comment on them. I've looked for more bulbs to plant here, but have been unsuccessful in locating them at our local garden centers. I think I may order them and plant them in the fall; I've missed them. So maybe next Spring, I'll have a photograph of them to show you. In the meantime, you'll have to settle for a pink card!

I'd better get moving as CASology closes in a few hours!

I'll bet you thought I had a tulip card, didn't you? Nope:

Those "happy"s look ombre, but they're not. Just plain old gold embossed. On a pink base. This looks rather fun in real life. Each 'happy' is slightly tilted. On purpose. Don't ask me why, but for some reason, it made my pea-brain happy. The stamp is from PTI's Wet Paint. And that's how I feel today. Happy. Hope you do too! Guess I'd better get going for now, but you all take some time for a couple of happy dances!

Bev, I went and Googled Esther tulips and now I want to order some, too! How beautiful! Each year my kids give me Easter flowers, usually dafffodils, but these tulips would be a beautiful addition to my perennial garden. Thanks for the heads up! Your card does make me happy -- and I love the slight tilt of the repeated sentiment. I'm with you, it does make me happy. Thanks for sharing -- and thanks for playing along at CASology!

Oh beautiful card!

Judy gave me the idea to google the flowers too! I love how flowers from our "old yards" creep into our memories. I was just talking to DH yesterday about some HUGE - like 5' across Hosta plants I had at my old house and how I miss them!!

So glad to hear you are happy in your heart today! Praise God!!

Sighhh...I want to have a yard so I can have flowers, and a garden, and a garage and a craft room. Praying that's in God's plan for us...Anyway, I adore your gold & pink card, with the slightly tilted Happys that make me smile! We must have 'in common' peabrains *grin*! Pink and perfect!

I'm still in awe of three foot tall tulips. Wow. We gave out tulip bulbs as a remembrance at our wedding, including deep pink ones (my colors were pink, purple and red) but they were nowhere near that tall. And they never seem to survive the Spring deer-come-and-eat-me phenomenon at my folks'. The ones we brought back with us stayed at our first condo. Wonder if they're still around...
Anyhoo, SO glad to hear you're in a happy mood. That makes ME happy!

So nice to know that you had a happy time staming your card!

I'm soooo far behind in commenting! Can you tell that spring has arrived? About half way through the spring yard clean-up. Pond and a few more flower beds left to do.

Your pink tulips must have been stunning! Hope you can find those bulbs again! But in the meantime, your delightfully clean and simple card definitely quenches my thirst for anything delightfully pink! The gold embossing looks great!
