So far, so good...

DH is feeling better today, so I spent a bunch of time in the craft room. And, man oh man is it a mess, lol! Not sure, but maybe I'll get around to cleaning it up today. However, I still have a 12" x 12" workspace open, so perhaps I can make one more card before getting to it. I've got a couple of cards for a few different challenges, so will stop yammering and get to them.

This first card was a ping card. An idea, suddenly and without warning, popped into my skull, and pinged around until I got it made. Couldn't help this one... I've used the sketch from MFT's Sketch Challenge 217 and the theme from The Card Concept Challenge, which is 'get well.' Love those bright colors in the inspiration photo, and have a feeling that they're sure to cheer anyone up!

I'm calling it a clean and layered card. Not too many layers and few embellishments.

Now I know that it looks like some polka dot dp, but it's actually the MFT Swiss Dots die cut in white. And yes, I did spend some time putting all those little colored die cut dots in place and in order. (I'm a little anal that way...) A yellow base, some vellum scraps cut with MFT Fishtail Flag dies, and an MFT stamp with Versafine ink. A little putzy, but I'll admit that putting all those little dots in place was a calm and soothing activity.

Did you know that the Lawnscaping Challenge is celebrating their 100th Challenge!? I was almost late to the party, but there's still a bit of time to play along if you go quickly!  Their theme, is 'birthday.' Made one to share:

Started with an aqua base, and added a Michaels white panel. Die cut LF stars out of scrap dp. LF stamps colored with Copics, and stamped in Versafine. And there you have it. Will let you go now, and I'm going to run to the bank. Have a great Wednesday. Happy dances everyone.

Wow, I thought that polka dot was pattern paper, and I was thinking how much I really loved it. That it is so bright and cheerful and then I read that you placed all the those dots down. Wow!! Love it and love how it looks!! It is a fun and cheery card. The birthday card is so fun too! Love the stars in those beautiful papers and I love that little cake. You were very productive Bev! Glad to hear that your hubby is feeling better as well, giving you that time in your crafty room. Hugs, Brenda

Oh, girl, you really made me happy with these adorable cards! I think you and I could work jig-saw puzzles together for a week of Sundays in a cabin in the woods and not even notice the time passing - you'll know what I mean when you see what I posted today. I ADORE your sweet little colored dots and can't wait to try that! They really - you'll pardon the expression - make your card POP!! A winner to me! And so, too, is your adorable star card! Both are so stinkin' cute!! Miss you! Hugs, Darnell

I just smiled all over my face at your polka dots, Bev ... and knew straight away what you'd done! Those inset pops of colour are like little jewels ... they're gorgeous. As I just happen to have cut a few of these at the LH (yours, of course!), I may just have to CASE (an adaptation ... didn't keep the dots!). Sweet, sweet star and cake ... such a pretty DP combo! Missing you, my lovely friend ... bisous, bisous, Anita :)

Both of these cards are fabulous. Love the colors and patterns. Thanks for your lovely comment on my 'CofeeCup. To answer your question - about stamping the brown panel - I did not. that is a pattern paper from ages ago.

Holey-moley (oops...bad pun), Bev: talk about a labour of love in the polka-dot piecing! The results: only spectacularly awesome and yes, it 'works', because my spirits are definitely lifted! Your smiling little cake nestled in the stars..seriously adorable! With a face like that, guaranteed that little guy would *not* be eaten! I'd have to keep him as a cupcake pet! Glad John's feeling better!
