Thank you all so much

As you've probably guessed from sweet Darnell and wonderful Ardyth's blogs, this past Tuesday was my birthday. Darnell threw an incredible party, complete with happy dancers, and Ardyth hosted the linky party. I was completely surprised, and beyond delighted. So big hugs and big thanks to those dear friends for doing this. And hugs and thanks to all of you who stopped in, left a hb message, made a card, sent a card, or commented on D.'s  and/or A.'s blogs. After what went on here last week, your kind wishes, and thoughts and prayers have buoyed my my spirits. It was just what I needed. I'm still going back and peeking in; can't believe you all did this! So thank you all; it was so sweet of you and I will treasure this always.

I started to make a card on Monday morning, but it's mostly been sitting on my desk, looked at longingly each time I've passed. DH's care has taken most of my time, which is exactly how it should be. He's improving day by day. Still using a walker, but I'm hoping that in a week or two, he'll be back to more normal...except for stairs. Not doing THAT again!!! So while he's in the recliner with the remote in hand, and paperwork surrounding him, I've been making a switch. His bigger than huge office now needs to be compacted, and moved into his bedroom. So guess what I've been doing???? Yep. Packing up, hauling down, moving out stuff, handing him boxes upon boxes of papers to go through (keep, recycle, shred...), and working my little brain to the bone trying to figure out how to fit all this in half the space. Some things will stay in boxes and in the attic. Some things will come down, and some things will go up. Hundreds of books will go either to local libraries, or into AAUW book sales. But don't worry...I'm an expert at getting 10 pounds of stuff into a 5 pound bag! It will all work out. Next year we're planning a reno of the first floor; turning our current family room into his bedroom, turning the adjoining room which is a pass-through room to the family room and my craft room, into a closet and full bathroom with a walk in shower, and then his current bedroom into office space only. I'll take over some of the space in his old office as my craft space, so that will work out well.

ANYWAY...all this by way of an explanation of why I have been a bit out of touch. I do have a card to share today, and it's in honor of another Bev! Bev over at Uniko Studios just had twin boys! How nice is that??!! DH and I have twin boys, but they're just a wee bit older than these two...by, um, oh...40+ years! Tom and Joe are a real blessing in our lives, and if Bev and her husband have even half the joy we've had, then, they will be truly blessed. So congrats on Josh and Ben! Time Out Challenge has an additional challenge on this auspicious occasion, "Double the Joy." Had a little ping, and all I needed was for DH to sleep in a bit so I could finish the card. Mission accomplished!!

One boat for each little boy. Lots of different products here. SU boat stamps all fussy cut, SC star sequins, NN sentiment, multiple inks, and a NBUS LF die to make the waves. All the papers are scraps except for the Neenah base. And since I've taken up waaaaay too much of your time already, I'll quit now. Happy dances everyone.

Gad to know that your DH is getting better, I am sure managing all this must be tiring for you. But I guess card making is like a reliever! I love those sailboats and amazing waves :)

Bev, this is a beautiful card. It sounds like you've had a rollercoaster few weeks. I'm so glad your hubby is recovering well. It was a true miracle that he didn't break anything.

What a time you've had Bev. I'm glad to hear that DH is on the mend and that plans are in the works to make things easier. But I'm well aware that what you're doing is hard work and I hope that you take time to rest and take care of you. Most of the time people are fixed on the patient and forget about the caregiver so I hope that you are able to get the rest you need. You are a saint indeed! Hugs!

Bevie, your card for Bev to celebrate the twins is so darn adorable! I love that your little boats represent each little boy as they begin their journey across the waves of life!

You are very welcome for your birthday party blowout! I couldn't have done it without Ardyth's help with the Linky! And no one deserves it more than you do, after all the amazing parties you have thrown for everyone else!!

Please, please take good care of yourself as this long transition takes place to make the house more comfortable and safe for John. Hugs, Darnell

Bev, it was a joy to celebrate your special day with you, especially during such a demanding time ... so happy you felt the love and caring from all over blogland! Your card for Bev's twins is so sweet ... those cute wee boats look fabulous bobbing about on the ombré water! Good to hear John is doing better and that progress is being made on the changes you're making ... do take care of yourself within all the busyness, ... after all there is only one you! Hugs, Anita :)

You're not the only one behind, Bev. I had to go back and read your previous post so see what happened. What a time you and John have had. I'm so sorry about his fall. I know exactly what you're going through - although it's my Dad and not my husband. We moved my parents bedroom downstairs but there is no full bath, and no way to put one in, so I finally put in a stair lift. It works well for them. I'll be keeping you both in my prayers.

It's a darling card you've made for the new twins. Yours are 40+. Mine are 50+. Guess we have something more than crafting in common. :)

I cannot believe the week that you have had! I put up my birthday post for you and then I popped up to your blog to see what you've been up to. I was hoping to see laughter and parties and fun - instead funerals and a fall. And now it sounds like you are working your fingers to the bone right now trying to deal with it all. Take care of yourself. Your DH needs you!!!

This beyond sweet baby boy card is also now in that file! One boat for each wee one - how cute is that? Of course, the gingham background has my old heart a flutter! Great waves too!

Making a card and planning a party for you was supreme fun, so THANK YOU for having a birthday that brought me as much joy as it did you! Your awash in all kinds of busy-ness, from hauling to over-hauling, and everything in-between! Hope you're taking time to give yourself some spoiling and pampering, too! Your card...how DARLING! The twin boats - similar, yet different - are perfect for Bev's new beans, as she calls them. She and Karl will adore this card, as do I!
Hugs~c
