Aren't we Blessed?!, Seriously... aren't we Blessed?!

You'd think that after four straight migraine days that it would be difficult to think of blessings. (Wednesday and last night were especially bad, too) But that's what came to mind this morning. Blessings. Countless blessings. New babies, a perfect summer's day, happy healthy grandchildren, family and friends, music, coffee, oh...so many blessings and I know that you know what I mean! In the last 20 years I'm guessing that I've "lost" at least seven years of days to migraines. Maybe more. That's a whole lot of migraines. But rather than dwell on the days I've lost, I'm giving myself permission to be seven years younger! That puts me right back into my 40s!!! LOL. Yeah, now even these little beastie migraines have become a blessing!!

So far today is alright, (though the day is young). I've got contractors out in the front yard with diggers and dozers and big ol' tools. We're having the whole front step area, including sidewalk replaced and repaired. The original railings will get sandblasted, repainted and put back, and the two amazing concrete slabs above the beautiful brick sides will be salvaged, as well as the bricks. It will be so beautiful out there again! Very excited.

Monday, on day 2 of migraines, I had an appointment with my NP at the neurology clinic. The best part of going to the clinic is that on the way home, I can stop and get a coffee and pop into My Paper Playground. You've just got to meet Sharon. One very talented lady, and a sweetheart who makes everyone feel welcome at MPP. Seriously, if you live anywhere near the Milwaukee area, stop in and shop, take a class, or just have a visit with Sharon, you'll be glad you did. There were all kinds of treasures in her store, and I had a difficult time controlling myself. One thing a paper addict has a difficult time resisting is, well, paper. Be proud of me though...I only walked away with one pad! It's totally cool. Raise your hand if you love Pebbles products. Me, too. I picked up a pad that's 5.5x8.5, patterned and scored! The perfect card base. Totally love it. Got a card today made with it....

Have you seen this week's Muse challenge? Lynn Mangan from The Mango Boys and Me has this fantastic card for inspiration. Cool, eh? Had to play, though mine is a tad-bit different....

My darling grandson is celebrating his birthday here Saturday. He's at that age where all the second graders are into Pokemon. Had to make him a Pikachu card.

The more I look at this, the more I think he'll like it. The base is from my new (yay!) Pebbles Basics pad, I found a coloring page and made the little cutie into a digi image, and printed him on yellow Bazzill cardstock, colored the cheeks and tongue with ProMarkers, then fussy cut him. I cut a polaroid frame with my Cameo, and used MB Parker alphas for my buddy's name. Lawn Fawn speech bubble and stars (also fussy cut), and MFT hb. And that' my honey boy's birthday card. Happy dances everyone!

He will LOVE this! Boys are funny little creatures, who sometimes pretend not to care about this kind of stuff, but my son has a box full of the 'special' cards he's received over the years! The best part of cardmaking is the ability to personalize cards for the people we love. Thanks for playing along with this week's Muse!

Bev, I just love your way of thinking! So many blessing is right and we could go on for days listing them too. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that your migraines go away...I get them too so I do understand and would not wish them on anyone. Now on to your fabby and adorable card, Pikachu is just about the cutest little guy and you just nailed this card. Love it.

You're one heck of an amazing woman dear friend! I admire your ability to focus on good things while suffering from nasty migraines! Score 1 for you...0 for migraines!!!

Nice to see that the Y-K-W's didn't deter you from making a wee stop at the paper shop...because you created one sweet, sweet card that Grant is absolutely going to love to bits, not only because it is just so cool but because his grandmother made it just for him!

I'm seriously thinking that I need the MB Parker alphabet dies tooT

Bev, holy cow, 7 years out of 20? Even a year would be crazy-difficult to deal with. I had no idea it was that prevalent. Huge props for hanging out in the craft room, as well as having such a cheery outlook. You seem to be making the most of it, which is all anyone can do I guess.

Your card is just perfect, take it from a Pokemon mom. He will LOVE, love it. The colors are perfect!

Pika-Pika :) My kids are all about Pokemon! There's all kinds of talk about a new Pokemon 3ds game coming out in October, they can barely contain themselves (3rd & 5th graders). Anyway, your grandson is going to totally LOVE his card!

Oh Bev, I am sorry your migraine has lingered for so long. They are truly awful things, aren't they?!

Your card, on the other hand, is totally adorable. Your grandson is going to LOVE it!

You are an inspiration to be so positive about your migraines. I no longer suffer from them thank the Lord but I remember that they would always pop up when I least expected them. I love your bright and fun take on the Muse challenge and honey boy will be thrilled with it.

I'm sorry I have been backed up on my end (oh, that didn't sound good!) and haven't been able to visit my friends. By the time you are reading this, I hope the cluster has passed and you are doing well. Migraines are so evil.

Your work on the front of the house is sure a positive, fun thing. Well, not so fun while it's going on, but it will be fun when it's finished!

Speaking of fun, what a fun card for Grant! I'm sure he had a super time yesterday! It looks like you are getting proficient at, and totally enjoying, your Cameo ... when you can!

Prayers for you Bevie. Wish I could do more. xxoo Mwah! Darnell

Your perspective is truly inspirational! I've only experienced two migraines in my life and never, ever, EVER want to do it again. Not even if I could cut seven years off of my age.

Ardyth is so right in her comment. I had the same experience with my boys. They immediately move on past the card but years later I discover that they have them all stashed in a drawer!!

Okay, how did I miss this darling card and your treasure of a post? Brain must be addled with all the 'playing' I've been doing! Bev: how awesome+++ that you always, always find the positive in everything! Hope that the migraines are gone! If I had a magic wand, I'd 'abracadabra' them out of existence! As for your card: super duper cute! Best part: made, with love, by Grandma! He'll be thrilled! Thank you again for your warm comments on my blog; your encouragement is so uplifting! Hugs to you, dear friend!!
