I know, I know. Strange post title. However, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! I wanted to play along with The Alley Way Stamps #16 Be Inspired Challenge, but didn't have any TAWS Christmassy stamps. So, I made lemonade...or rather, a snowman--out of bowling balls. Their challenge is filled with fun colors and great images, so you see why I wanted to participate. And while I was at it, I saw that the Color Throwdown had really similar colors! So I thought, what the heck, I'll play there too! Love these color combinations, don't you??!!!
Here's what I created, taking my inspiration from the circles on the stocking, and of course, the snowman.
I added a smile to the top bowling ball, and, voila, a cute face, this is from TAWS AdoraBowl set. For his little arms, I used a stamp from TAWS Awesome Blossoms set. I masked off the finger holes on the bottom bowling ball, and put some pop-dots underneath both.A washi tape scarf, and the little fellow is complete. My sister Sue punched out some silver snowflakes for me a couple of years ago, and everytime I tried to throw them out, something stopped me--glad I didn't! Then some layered circles out of Bazzill colored cardstock, added a couple of small blings, and there you have it. I used a computer generated font for the "Merry Christmas." The snowman and card base are Bazzill too. Hope this makes you happy dance a bit today.

I am amazed every single time I visit your blog! You are one of the MOST creative, ingenious, and talented woman that I know! Seriously, turning the bowling ball into the snowman - sheer creative genius. Using part of a flower stamp set for his arms, washi tape for a scarf, reclaimed snowflakes....did I mention resourceful up above?
Wow!
Cute card!! I like your sparkling snowflakes and your adorable snowman!!
Thanks so much Caroline. I wish I had had better light for the photo. Santa just might bring me a light box for Christmas--I've been very good ;) It was kind of fun to make. Bev
*Blush, blush, blush* Thanks Geri. I really need to increase my stamp supply. But, I had fun making this! When I get my light box for Christmas, the photos will be better and the colors will be truer. The snowman cracks me up though. Have a great weekend, my friend. Bev
Thanks for stopping by Happy Dance Kim. I'm glad you liked my card, and that crazy snowman! Bev
Is that really a bowling ball? Fantastic!!! Such a festive and cheerful card! So glad to see you at The Alley Way Stamps BE Inspired Challenge.
Yep! It's a bowling ball alright! I only have one snowman stamp, and it's not TAWS, so I improvised. This was a really fun challenge, and I love TAWS stamps. Bev
Adorable! Very imaginative of you to make your snowman with bowling balls!!! Thanks so much for joining us at Color Throwdown this week!
The DT chose great colors, some of my favorites! It was a blast to play, and without "proper" snowman" stamps, I just had to improvise... :)
