Muse + Altenew's Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop

Before I show you my card, I need to ask you a question. Have you seen those stupid laundry gremlins at your house? I mean, really. There are only two of us living here, and I swear, someone is coming in and adding laundry to the hampers. Must be laundry gremlins... It couldn't be me letting it pile up and taking longer to do, could it? Nahhhhh..... Laundry gremlins it is then!

Now that that's cleared up, I thought I'd share a card I made for my sweet granddaughter's upcoming birthday. She's in law school. I know, right?! Yesterday she was two and today she's all grown up. Happened really, really fast! I wanted something special for her card, and had been drawing a blank. Then, I saw Tracey's card over at Muse. Oh. My. Gosh!!! Inspiration Plus! If you haven't seen it, just have a gander here, but be sure you head over to her blog and leave her a comment; it's so right. See what I mean:

Madly in love with Tracey's card. Uh-huh.

My take is just a bit different:

I was inspired by her two flowers, the large black sentiment, and the watercolory look. Where Tracey used watercolor powders, I just used my Zigs. All stamps are Altenew, and I white embossed the blossoms before watercoloring. I love this Peony Bouquet set, and the Calligraphy Alpha, too. Hope she likes it!

Since I've used all Altenew stamps, I'm going pop this into the gallery at The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop. Pretty sure I've played in most of these featured challenges, and I'll bet you have too! Head over at check out this post.

That's it for me for today. Must get a few things done. Happy dances everyone!

A really beautiful card Bev. The colours are gorgeous and the stamps are also very pretty. I'm sure Jessica will love it.

By the way we must have laundry gremlins in the UK too. They seem to visit me often. Barbxx

Oh wow!! This card is STUNNING!! Love the colors you used and you did it with ZIGS!!! LOVE.

I do not have the laundry gremlins that make more laundry BUT I do have the ones that take my socks!! I have so many mismatched gym socks that it is scary. I have no idea where the other ones went!!

Bev, your card is absolutely gorgeous and you're granddaughter is going to be thrilled with it! So soft and pretty and perfectly blended.

We have a laundry gremlin too and he's been out of control this summer. Usually laundry seems worse in the winter with all the bulky clothes but it's just been so darn hot and humid that we each go through a few changes of clothes each day. Ridiculous.

Laundry I can handle, it's the fact that people think they need to be fed dinner every day that has me baffled! Ah-mazing card, Bev, and all with Zigs?! Jessica will cherish this, especially because it was made especially for her!

What a beautiful card. Lovely water coloring, and how nice that it is personalized for your granddaughter. I think those laundry gremlins hang out in my house when they are not busy with you.

First, I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday, Bev! I see Anita has thrown you a very elaborate party, and I hope you're enjoying all those yummy treats with your champagne :) I also hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends, and that all of your birthday wishes come true :)

Ah yes, it must be laundry gremlins! I never thought of that, yet I couldn't figure out how it piled so high, so fast!

I really love your take on Tracey's card! Your pastel blooms are so pretty, and your watercolored background is stunning! I'm sure your granddaughter is going to love it, too!

Anita spilled the beans...said it was your birthday...couldn't let that go by without saying, Happy Birthday, Happy Dancer. I'm not sure if I've ever visited before (you know the mind is first to go) but after seeing the virtual party Anita threw you, I just had to pop in and say that I hope it was the best birthday ever and wish you a coming year that is everything you hoped for. Bye-bye.

Happy Birthday, Bev! Your card is beautiful! I have house gremlins, the entire house seems to dirty itself... or perhaps it is the kids and the dog... definitely not me... ;-)

Love, Love the inspiration card...and Love, LOVE your interpretation look. The softer shades on your beautiful card are just so soothing and calming. A lovely card indeed. Saw Anita's birthday card for you, wanted to pop over to say a Big Happy Bday to you. And yes, those gremlins visit our house too. I don't let the laundry pile up either, so I KNOW it's something that happens at night, when we're not awake...because 2 people could not POSSIBLY dirty up this much. Again Happy Birthday. Hugs

Oh my, Bev ... dreamy, soft, elegant and so stylish ... Jessica will LOVE this personalised beauty ... and treasure it always no doubt! The laundry gremlin is related to the Time Eating Monster ... they're in cahoots and when they descend at the same time, there's no dealing with them! Much better to leave the country till they move on!!! Miss you heaps, mon amie! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)

This has to be one of the most beautiful cards you have ever made, Bev. I love the soft pink of the flowers and the subtle shading in the gorgeous blue background.

Anita nailed it when she said 'dreamy'...cuz that is exactly what your card is! The soft colors and your AMAZING blending seriously makes this look like a photo of a hand painted picture! LOVE the pop of black! Jessica is going to love this card, which is definitely headed to the Winner's Circle at the Ultimate Challenge!

...you are so totally THE Zig Queen

WHAT? The Laundry Gremlins have invaded your place, too? If you find a way to get. rid. of. them. please share *grin* Yes, two of us appear to make a pile of laundry. No wait, one of us does, and that one isn't me! The 'culprit' someone wears a lot of cycling gear (on the plus side, it doesn't need ironing 'whew'). Your grand-daughter's already in law school? Oh my...this growing up too fast also needs to be dealt with! Your card: dreamy, gorgeous, touching. She'll love it, as do I - and love you even more deeply for having created it just. for. her!
You're the best Grandma ever!
Hugs, love and misses~c
