Sunday afternoon

I'll bet that if I look back on all my post titles, there are probably several called "Sunday Afternoon"...I guess I don't have much imagination when it comes to titles. You don't mind really, do you?

Today is one of those rare days. It's gorgeous outside with blue skies, fluffy clouds, sunshine and cool breezes coming off the lake. In my world, it's perfect. There is more rain forecast for much of the upcoming week, but for today, I'm enjoying it. Going out to the flower beds again after this post.

So, I found a new-to-me challenge. It's called CAS - Colours and Sketches Challenge. I'm kind of excited. It's always fun to find these and play along. If you've not heard of this, check it out.

For my card, you'll notice there are no flowers. Now, don't get me wrong, I love flowers, in fact, I've got tons of roses in my yard, it's just that I didn't feel like stamping flowers today. What I really wanted to do was to play with my new stamps! Woohoo. I got my order from Ellen Hutson yesterday and well, you know, they called my name. Use Us....Use Us...  Who could say no?! And like the nice little crazy person that I am, I listened to those little voices. Had a blast with these newbies from Mama Elephant. I'd never used this brand before, and I can tell you if you've been wondering...they're good. Inked up nicely, even with SU's black ink. (Not that SU's ink is poor quality, it's just that with certain stamps it doesn't work as well as other inks...) Anyway, onto the card. It's another one for Marilyn. Haven't heard anything about her condition since early last week, but she's had another round of chemo, and this time she's not quite as sick. Hope this little card helps to make her feel better:

The stamps are from the Up, Up and Away set. Oh my goodness, it's the cutest set ever! And Kylie, be proud of me....I colored all those balloons my own little self. Now, I'm not the best at it, but I like the way they turned out. I stamped the bunny on kraft paper and fussy cut him out, then thought he needed a lighter tummy, so used a scrap of lighter tan for that. I stamped all the balloons on scraps of white, and fussy cut three set after coloring them with sharpies and some Copics. Tucked one behind another, and whamo!, one huge bunch of balloons! The sentiment is from the same set. I'm really loving this one. Gotta love bright and happy. And speaking of happy...Happy dances everyone!

Your card is absolutely adorable, as awesomely absolutely adorable! No Mama Elephant stamps in my collection...yet! Some subliminal arm-twisting happening as I admire your balloon-lifted bunny. As for colouring: mind meld! I've been practicing with my *huge* copic stash (12) this afternon and my outcomes are nowhere near as stunning as yours. Kylie would give me a detention, for sure! Love your card; love your comment on my niece's album; love that you have flowers to putter with (on my 'want' list...)! Enjoy your Sunday evening!

This is so 3-D, Bevie and so happy and so stinkin' cute! You've done the most amazing job of coloring and cutting on this card! I want to pop one of those balloons off the monitor and into my mouth like the old-fashioned gumball machine gumballs. (If that made any sense?)

Thanks for the head's up on the new challenge and the (sigh) glowing report on the ME stamp set. I've seen lots of good things said about ME ... gosh, there are so many, too many, adorable stamp-making companies these days, she bemoaned.

Kylie is SUPER proud of you, Bev! :) What a gorgeous card! Marilyn will totally love it. The colours you have used are so vivid and just pop off the card. The dimension is fantastic. I love everything about it and I am so proud of you!

And C, I would never give detention. :) It's all about practice, practice, practice - and having fun as you play. :)

Your day sounds as though it was pretty much perfect, Bev ... crafting, gorgeous weather, a little pottering in the garden ... bliss!! That's the word I'm using for your totally cute card too ... sweet two tone bunny and those balloons ... I know just what Darnell means! They're so dimensional and delicious ... and shiney ... did you use glossy accents? Either way, I love it, I love the sentiment and Marilyn's sure to love it too! Anita :)

I wondered if you used Glossy Accents, too. Those balloons look like they are real, and making three sets and popping them up adds to the reality. So happy dancey!!

OMG - your card is SO adorable! The bunny being carried away by that huge bouquet of balloons is totally darling! This will definitely bring a smile to your friend's face.
I'm so glad you found the CAS - Colours and Sketches challenge blog and decided to join us this week! I hope you'll play along with us again soon.
Oh, and I can completely relate on how it can be difficult to come up with unique titles for blog posts. I've finally kind of given up on it. LOL

As if I needed more encouragement to get this cute set. :) Your coloring looks fabulous--so bright and colorful, a perfect contrast with the white space and sure to bring a smile.
