Don't know if you're aware, but there is some severe flooding going on up in Canada. One of our blog friends, C. let us know about it. She lives in Canmore, Alberta, and was/is trapped there by flood waters. Haven't heard from her in two days, so don't know what's going on there. Please pray for her, and all the people who are affected by these floods. If I hear more from her soon, I will post if she is unable to do so.
I've got two cards to share today. The first one is for CAS(E) this Sketch and is design by Jackie. It's so lovely. Very CAS.
I adore Jackie's work. And I'm so glad she shares with us!
I took a few liberties with the sketch, such as skewing the focal points, and adding a few do-dads to the white space, but I'm pretty sure it will still qualify within the CTS guidelines. It's another card for Marilyn, my sil, and I'm working a week ahead just in case it gets crazy around here as summers tend to do, and if I can't spend much time in the craft room, I'll have a spare on hand. Bazzill white base, pink and brown scraps, squeekquins colored on the reverse with brown Sharpie, a few MME enamel dots, two kinds of twine from the Twinery, and some legless brads from Snap Studio Simple Stories. That's it for the first card.
Next, I thought it might be fun to be different. The fun colors in the inspiration photo over at the TAWS Be Inspired Challenge would normally prompt me to go in the direction of July 4th, or summer picnics. But no. I went in a totally different direction. Here's why...You all know Ardyth, don't you? Brilliant woman. Amazing card maker. And a constant source of inspiration for me (and I'm sure for soooo many others!). Well, she posted a card. Not just a card. A Christmas card. I know, I know...it's only June. But she's on the DT over at Festive Friday and when I checked it out, well, had to find a way to play there too. Turns out, easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Here I go out of the box again. Another digi. Two, in fact! And both freebies from TAWS!!
And this is what I made:
It's got trees. It's got the colors from TAWS. And in my world, it's got cute! I don't make many Christmas cards. I quit sending them out several years ago, but DH will send them, so this will go into his stash. White Bazzill card base, both trees and sentiment are TAWS digis, scraps for everything else, a bit of twine from my "just can't toss it out yet, I might need this" ribbon and twine box, one enamel dot from MME, and the heart has a touch of glossy accents on it. Popped up trees. Well, I'll shut up now, but you all have a great weekend, and happy dances everyone.

Two wonderfully graphic cards! Love the bold colours and all the shine from the embellishments of the first one and I love the colours you've chosen for the second - definitely CUTE! The candy cane twine is the perfect finishing touch!
Oops - should have thanked you for playing with Festive Friday!
Great cards! And I'm all for getting a head start on Christmas cards - I just can never seem to do it! Love your colorful trees! Thanks for joining the TAWS BE Inspired challenge!
Love how you placed your elements on an angle. Super cute and fun card!!!
Oh and your Christmas tree card is ADORABLE!
Two fab cards ... but especially LOVE the Christmas one. Great non-traditional colors for Christmas ... and perfect for those sweet tree images and sentiment. Love, love, love it! Loll :)
Oh I love it! LOVE it! I love the fun colours, I love the cute trees, and the font is awesome... I am so glad you found us through Ardyth (I agree, she's amazing!), and I hope you'll come back and play with Festive Friday again!
Oh my, you're on fire, Bev! I adore the brads on your tag ... perfect colours and perfectly placed in ascending order ... and perfect with the smattering of dots and sequins! TAWS Tannenbaum ... amazing, fantastic, fun ... love how you glossed up the little heart! Bon Dimanche my friend! Anita :)
Bev, thank you with all my heart for sharing news about the devastation that has rocked out town. Your prayers and those of others has had an impact, as I was blessed to have my home spared, unlike others who weren't so fortunate. At present, we're still land-locked, but steps are being made to restore the highways (including some temporary bridges being transported from BC).
Coming home to your note, and especially these AWESOME cards is incredibly spirit-lifting. Your 'Bev-izing' in the first absolutely rocks, and that TAWS tree card is exponentially adorable. Love the colours - and your colouring!! I'm ordering some Ranger Distress markers (Simon Says Stamps sale), to see if I can learn to watercolour (maybe, kind of). Fantastic twosome here, my friend!!

Card #1 is great. I love the dark brown tag, askew or not, with the buttony brads on it. Then there's #2. You Ardythized the trees (although she probably wouldn't have done a polka dot background lol) and made such a cute Christmas card.
Love how you let those great brads shine on your first card (hope SIL is doing well with her treatments). And you really had me wondering where you were going combining those two challenges on your Christmas card! Love it. Totally sweet. And I just love how you actually use up your scraps. Go girl!
Both cards are simply lovely, Bev! You inspire me to create! :)
I LOVE your angling of the sketch - absolutely unique and creative!! And I HAVE to start remembering those fabulous TAWS trees - you have done them proud in those colors with those bright polka dots!
Wow - you're on fire girl! You're first card is awesome - love the enamel dots and the legless brads! Perfect sentiment for Marilyn's card!
The TAWS card nearly knocked me off my chair! GORGEOUS colors (did you color the trees or paper piece?).
At first glance, I thought that you had used a Polaroid die to showcase the trees, but on closer inspection I see that it is layered card stock. Not sure if your intention WAS to create the Polaroid, but if so, well done!
Hey Bev! I hope you heard from your friend and that she is ok.
Love the card and the way you arranged the dots. Very creative design! Love the Christmas card too! Beautiful work here!
this is too cute! Love that your trees are not the traditional colors on your second card...very festive. Your first card is just too cute, skewed and all! Your legless brads are fabby additions to your card too, so fun. And a very sweet card for Marilyn.
Your cards are both so much fun! Love those fab brads, and how you have angled the tag.
Two very different, but both equally fun cards! The non-traditional colors on the Christmas one is very eye-catching, and the epoxy on your first card is so trendy! Love 'em!
Such a bright fun cherry card!
Wonderful!
Two GREAT cards, Bev! I LOVE the fun trees you've incorporated for us at Festive Friday...such sweet colors and images! So happy you've joined us and hope to see you again!
Fantastic cards Bev! These colors are perfect for Xmas! Thanks for playing along with the TAWS BE Inspired challenge
