A quiet Sunday afternoon

So here we are. On a quiet Sunday afternoon. Had a small relapse of this viral thingy after Sunday school; not sure why. But I am trying hard to get over this....Thought a bit of fun would help the situation. So I made a card for my dad. He's something else. 83 years old and still going strong. This past Tuesday he had carpel tunnel surgery, and sometime in the near future, he'll have cataract surgery. I made a little get-well card for him since I couldn't be with him. He'll think it's cute--anything his girls do is good with him.

I've never played along with One Layer Wednesday, which rotates among a group of super card makers. This time the great and wonderful Ardyth is hosting. She's chosen a color theme, and it being St. Patrick's Day, the colors are green, white and orange--the colors of the Irish flag.

At first, I made a card all masked off using flowers. Hated it. Rethought it, and came up with this.

One layer. Just like the rules say. One fixed-up piece of cardstock. Cool. Harder than it looks, but quick! October Afternoon duck stamp, SU cardstock, ink, and markers. Computer generated font. Kinda cute, don't ya think? Happy dances everyone.

I love this and I'm sure your dad will too! I get a classic Beatrix Potter vibe from this - and that is the perfect sentiment (those flowers would have been to girly for him anyway! lol!) I'm so glad you chose 'my' week to start playing along with OLW! (and thank you for those very kind words!) hope you AND your dad are both feeling perfectly ducky very soon!

That sure is true for all parents, isn't it?
Hope you have a healthy week so that you can create more cute stuff like this!

Ooh, cute, Bev ... these delicious ducks look as though they're doing a happy dance for your Dad ... that'll cheer him up no end! Lots of rest and tlc should banish that sneaky virus, so take it as easy as you need! Anita :)

I giggled when I saw your card because "Just Ducky" is one of my favorite sayings! Your dad is going to love this! It really is a fun stamp. Sweet job on the grass too!

This is so sweet - love how you translated the colors so subtly. And I'm all for that sentiment - here's to spring and health!
