A Little Spring Cleaning...

...But why oh why haven't I won the lottery so I could have an everyday housekeeper???? I suppose it would help if I bought tickets more often...(as Sue would say...) "Ya Think???!!!" I'm working on Spring cleaning, and started with the bathroom. It's small, cleaned regularly, but still needs the twice yearly deep cleaning. I've gotten much of it done, but am now waiting for the freshly scrubbed floor to dry (and yes, hands and knees with a mop bucket and scrub brush), then it will be the drawers and cabinets. *sigh* I'd rather be making cards.

Started a card for a very dear dil yesterday, and finished it off today. Popping it into the Colour Me...! challenge. Played with some NBUS for this one, as you'll soon see.

At first, the orange didn't do it for me. But then a ping ponged, and voila!, a card was born! Gotta love that!

New goodies are always fun! Ordered the PTI Deco Die, and am fully and totally in love with it! Cut an  orange scrap and some Neenah white and pieced it together. The sentiment is not new, but is from one of my favorite sets from PTI. The fancy-schmancy brackety thingies are from a small set, also PTI, and is called Boutique Borders: Sympathy Stamp Set. A little SU ink, and done. Oh!, to get the whole thing straight and centered, I tried out my new Stamp-a-ma-jig. Lovin' that! Will be using that again!! Happy dances everyone, it's back to cleaning for me...

Beautiful, clean and Classic! I love the cheery bright orange! I thought it looked like it would be tricky to work with (the frame), but you've got it all lined up straight and perfect! Have a great weekend!

Wow! Good thing you took a break from the dustin' and cleanin' because this is stunning! The bracket 'thingies' look like they were made for this PTI die, which has almost a Greek look to it! AND I LOVE THE ORANGE!

BTW, I'm calling winner, winner here...

Sharp and crisp and it makes me long for a candy orange slice, Bevie! Gosh, I haven't had one of those in a few decades! This is so great!!

Enjoy that SAMJ. I can't believe I made cards for a dozen years without one of those!! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell

Card making is so much more fun than cleaning, don't you think? Plus, who would come by your cleaning blog???? Love this simple beauty.

Yes, I would like a house-cleaner, too, but then again, sometimes I find 'certain' tasks a form of creativity. Even though we were away for two weeks, there's chores to be done, especially cleaning closets and book shelves to sent the 'rarely used' to places where they'll receive more love. Speaking of love: I do your card (does that make sense?) The orange works, and the framing - both edges and surrounding the sentiment - is classy! Your DIL will cherish this; it's made by YOU, with love! I join Geri: winner, winner... Hugs~c

Soooo striking, Bev! Everything is lined up just perfectly. Great combination of the straight lines, with the flourishy bracket around your sentiment.

Cleaning!!?? Don't let cleaning get in the way of cardmaking!!!!

I didn't get that deco die, and at the moment, I'm not sure why. I love the impact of this card - just a simple die and sentiment. It's a great way to use orange - such a bold look with just two colors.
