For Jennifer

You may not know Jennifer, but she is one of the dearest friends anyone could wish for. Her birthday is coming up soon and I wanted to make her a special card. If I win the lottery tonight (hahahahahahahaha), there will be so much more than this card and planned-on present! She's a true blessing from God, and my prayer for all of you, is that you have someone just like her in your lives. And just in case you have time in your busy life, Jen, to sit down and look at this...Stop. You'll get this at the appropriate time.

This card will go into three challenges. First, I want to play at CASology, where the cue card is Hexagons.

A quick word to the DT over there...if this is not CAS enough, if this is too fussy, please feel free to take it off the site. Rules are rules, and I don't want this in the challenge if it does not follow your guidelines. I'm good with it.

Next, I'm playing again at Retro Sketches. I've had a blast with this sketch, and have made more cards than I'm posting using this. If you haven't played there, head on over!

Lastly, I adore the colors this week at Dynamic Duos. So Springlike! Since I haven't played there in awhile, I thought I'd use their colors and create from there.

So here's Jen's birthday card:

For this, I used Bazzill white for the card base, Bazzill yellow scraps, and SU scraps of dp. The hexagons are a honeycomb stamp from Market Street Stamps using SU's Baja Breeze ink, an almost forgotten chipboard star, a squeekquin colored on the reverse side with a yellow Sharpie marker, a fabric brad (minus its little leggies) from Crate Paper, a smidge of SU seam binding, PTI sentiment from Birthday Basics and SU black ink. And that's all. Happy dances everyone.

Bev: I totally LOVE this!! Gorgeous! I see hexagons, daffodil delight, baja breeze AND cas! Clean and polished! Wow! Keeping this for future scrap-lifting (and wondering why I don't have a star die. Yeesh!!). Like you, I'm having a wee affair with the Retro Sketch this week. Soooo versatile!
Have a fantastic day - and your comment on my post = happy dancing!!

Beautifully clean & simple! In my opinion, this totally fits the bill for the challneg (not like I have a say in the matter though)! Tons of 'white space', minimal embellies, simple but stunning color palette....simply beautiful!

Jen is going to love your card and the beautiful words that you have written for her! She is also lucky to have you as such a dear friend :)
