Twofer Challenge #40

Outside my bedroom window, in a tall Yew bush, I had two nests of birds this Spring. Near the top was a small nest of sparrows. Slightly below that was a nest of robins. Both nests hatched eggs, all of them survived, and toward the end of June, they've all fledged and flown. It was kind of cool to note their progress as the days passed, and to think about the small miracles God gives us every day. More life, more hope, and more happy. I have to say that I enjoyed seeing that new life as I peeked out my window. You might wonder why I'm talking about birds. Well this month's Twofer is:

I like birds. Except for the peacock at the zoo who tried to steal my grandson's Twinkie (shhh...don't tell mom and dad that grandma bought him what he begged for...hahahahaha!), and chickens. Live chickens. Specifically my two Auntie's chickens. They PECKED me, and I never did anything to them!!!! But put a chicken in the oven, or on the grill, and I'm a happy camper! So for this month's theme we're all going to be all about the birds. Here's my duo:

Those are Newton's Nook birds on both cards.

For the Thank You card, I found a doodle bug polka dotted (yay!) piece in that pretty blue. I die cut it with a PPP scalloped frame and used it to frame my focal point. The stamps, as afore mentioned are NN, and all from the same set, Tweet Talk. They're colored with Copics.

The birthday card uses a scrap of MFT b&w stripes, and a deep hot pink scrap of cardstock for an accent color. The sentiment is from MFT, the little bow is from AE, and the pinked edge die is from PTI. A bit more Copic coloring and done!

What will you come up with this month? I'm eagerly anticipating seeing what you've made! Be sure you stop over at the Twofer blog and check out the cards made by our Guest Designers, Maria and Coni,  and the rest of the Design Team. I'll see you in the gallery, and as always...

I'm so happy you got to enjoy not one hatching, but two hatchings this year ~ and I'm so jealous! Every time that's happened with my hummers, the scrub jay comes and ... well, no need to go into detail, but you see why I'm happy that you got to watch the whole wonder of nature from start to fledge! And I'm so happy you are on the Team because you make the most adorable cards and you're always inspiring me with your use of pp! These are my new favorite Bevie Twofer designs! Enjoy the weeken! Hugs, Darnell

I like birds too. With exception of turtle dove, pigeon and magpie. :-) Your birds Twofer is fabulous. Wonderful added patterned paper on both cards. I like the scene at the friendship card. Birthday card is so gentle with three red birds and limited color choice.
Have a great day! Hugs, Sonja

Love these little birdies all colored in red, Bev! They're adorable perched on their cozy house with the polka dotted frame! Love the scalloped edge over the black and white stipes with the birds perched on the sentiment! Lucky you to watch two nestsful of babies fledge!

OK, you've caught my heart on both of these tweet cards Bev!! I love birds too and my hubby goes a bit on the crazy side buying food each week for them! My favorites during the Summer are my Hummers and the Finchies...even had one peering in the slider this past week!! But anyway, your cards...I absolutely LOVE them both but especially the one with the blue polka dotted frame...such a simple card but totally makes me smile!! And the Birdday card with the 3 birdies perched on the sentiment couldn't be sweeter! Love the design layout on that one too! Hope you're enjoying your Summer and are getting visits from all those grandkids!! We sure have been enjoying getting to see ours more often now...little Eunice Cornelia is only 2 months away from being a year old now! Crawling and pulling herself up on everything, but she does still love to cuddle and I'm enjoying every minute of that I can get!! Take care my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Oh how fun you had two nests outside your bedroom window Bev! I love that you got to watch the babies grow and fly the nest, that is a nice treat. Yes, everyday has small miracles that God gives us, we just need to look for them. Your twofers are so sweet!!! I love the polka dot paper on your thank you card. The white inset really does draw the eye in to your cute little homey scene with these cute birds. Love how you colored this scene too. Your birthday card is so fun and it catches my eye with the color combo and stripes. Love how CAS it is and love how you put those cute birds on the sentiment. Then there is that sweet little bow. I love this card! Hugs, Brenda

Birds are one of the things that bring me joy too, Bev. I miss the ones I had at my old house but there are two feeders in Ohio and I keep hoping some new birds will find it. At the lake I only have a hummingbird feeder and today one sat there for the longest time. I'd like to add a regular feeder but I'm afraid there are WAY to many squirrels to get into it. I do get to watch nesting woodpeckers thought and that's something different.
I love your sweet little birds and the designs you used to show them off. The polka dots add such a happy feel and I always love black and white stripes on a card. I did bring a bird stamp with me so I'm trying to figure out how to make two cards with them. I'm glad I have a little more time to get inspired. Take care.

Such a darling twofer with your little red birdies, Bev! Especially love them perching on the scrolly birthday! Ha, ha - I'm sure auntie's chickens saw you eyeing them up for the oven, hence the pecks!! Fun memories - thanks for sharing!
