Twofer Challenge #10

Cooler and more colorful days have arrived, and with them the October Twofer Challenge. I'll admit that I'm enjoying the crisp Fall air and everything about these wonderful days. While the Harvest Moon occurred on September 24th, the farmers in Wisconsin are still busy clearing their fields and orchards. A veritable cornucopia of corn, potatoes, apples, pears, pumpkins, and all things deliciously Fall. As you can probably guess, this month's prompt for the Twofer Challenge is:

After seeing so many of you in the gallery for September's challenge, I'm looking forward to what you create for this month's "Harvest" prompt!

I chose pumpkins. Here's a shot of both of my cards:

Ellen Hutson's baker lady is going to try her hand at making pumpkin pie from scratch. I have a recipe for that, and someday I'm going to buy 'pie-pumpkins' and give it a whirl. I'll bet it'd be fun!

I found a piece of one of my favorite plaid papers in my scrap files and used a scalloped die from ME against a dark green base. EH baker lady stamp and die, and a NBUS pumpkin from Hello Bluebird. I watercolored the images. A HA sentiment finishes off this card.

My second card uses scraps for the sky and 'lawn,' and the lawn is cut with an MFT grass die though you can only see a smidgen of that. And speaking of 'lawn,' the fence is a Lawn Fawn die! The sentiment is from the now defunct My Cute Stamps company, and that adorable owl as well as the pumpkins are NBUS from HB. I colored the pumpkins and the owl with Copics.

I'm so looking forward to seeing what you'll create! You will be joining us in the gallery, right?!! Good! Be sure to stop by and check out our Guest Designers' blogs and the rest of the Twofer Challenge's DT to see more spectacular 'Harvest' cards! As always...

Two cute, CUTE cards Bev! LOVE your baker lady holding the pie pumpkin...sure hope she knows what she's doing!! I've never tried it either, but my oldest has and says the flavor was fantastic! Your pumpkin and owl card is just as sweet as can be too...love all those pumpkins against the fence and the owl perched above and keeping watch! Was so wonderful to meet you in person on Sunday...you truly are a gem and I loved every minute of Sundays get-together! Hope you're having a FABULOUS rest of your get away week!! :0)

Your pumpkin lady is so beautifully coloured, Bev ... with such great dimension ... and she's set against a deliciously warm and cosy plaid background! That little owl is adorable surveying his field of little punkins ... so sweet sitting on his cute picket fence! A fabulous Twofer! Big hugs & bisous, Anita :)

We eat pumpkins all of the time in Australia but as a savoury, we would never think to make it into a sweet pie. I bet the baker lady would have it whipped up in a flash though lol. Love both of your fun designs Bev as usual they are beautifully made!

Your pumpkin cards warm my heart, Bev! Your sweet baker looks so cute with the plaid background! And your scene with this adorable owl sitting on a white picket fence is really pretty!
Enjoy your time at the lake house! I am thinking of you all!

Such sweet pumpkin cards, Bev. I love Fall too. We actually grow our own sweet pumpkins every year. I cook up enough for 8 or 10 pkgs of frozen pumpkin, so we can have our baked from scratch pumpkin pies or pumpkin, potatoe soup in the Winter. Make sure you get sweet pumpkins and not jack-0-lantern pumpkins, which are much larger. TFS your cards. I will be playing later this month. Hugs, Nancy

Pumpkin, your pumpkin cards are sweeter than any pie! Owl bet you would not taste the difference in a blind taste test... though the Baker lady would feel a bit different than your feathered friend!
Love them both... and you... xx

I love any card with an owl on it, Bev, and I'm sorry that sentiment is no longer available. Your baker lady is beautifully colored and looks great with the plaid.

Two lovely harvest designs Bev! I love that plaid and the wonderful way you colored the apron on your baker! (I have that stamp set too and you have inspired me with your design!) And then there's your sweet little owl watching over the pumpkin patch - so cute for Owl-oween!!

Love your beautiful and fun cards, Bev ! I never tried pumpkin pie but I'm sure it's delicious. This young lady seems very happy with her pumpkin ! Gorgeous colouring and the plaid paper is just the perfect background for this card. Love the little scene on your second card with this adorable owl, the dotted grass and the fun sentiment. Thanks so much for sharing and for inspiring.

Bev, you already know how I feel about that watercolored apron and sweet little owl, but let me say again that I love your two cards! That plaid paper is so warm and perfect for your baker, and that owl has the perfect perch on the picket fence overlooking the cutest polka dotted pumpkin patch! Can't wait to color up that owl of yours myself!
