Three for Four

I grabbed some time yesterday before and after chores and errands, and made a card or two. One of the three I made last week, but have had no time to photograph or post until today. I've got one ear listening for DH, who wants some help with a shower as soon as he works up the energy, so I will try to keep this short.

For the first card, I need to give credit to Therese, at Lost in Paper, whose card I totally CASEd. Have you ever fallen in love with someone's card, and you just have to do a little online shopping so you can make one just like it??!! That happened with this card:

Lostinpaper - MFT - I'm Owl Yours - Circle Scribble Flowers (card video) (1)

I won't even tell you how long I stared at this one... Those colors, those owls (and I'm not a big owl fan, go figure...), the composition, that sentiment; I don't know what struck me, but I am full-on in love with this sweet card.
For mine, I'm going to play at Seize the Birthday, where the topping is creatures or animals.

And it looks like this:

My favorite green ink died, so I had to go with yellow, but I LOVE this new Fresh Inks Chamomile. And the blue is also from Fresh Inks. The gray is Smoke from ME. The owls are NBUS from MFT, as is the sentiment.

Next, is a card that will play at The Heart Desires and Cards In Envy (where the theme is to use your favorite color combination/anything goes).

If you look in the lower right-hand quarter, you'll see a flock of paper birds, and I was inspired by the movement and colors there. And I quite love this color combination.

I cut the birds out of various colors with my Silhouette, and arranged them about 5 million times until this mostly pleased me. The sentiment, both die and stamped are from Hero Arts. While I like this, I decided to make another, which looks nothing like this, which I'll post soon.

Lastly, I made a shaker card for CAS on Sunday, as the theme is a CAS shaker. I did my best to make it CAS, and if it doesn't meet those requirements, then I hope the DT removes it forthwith.

For your blog

Still in love with this AE birthday cake.

Horrid photograph. But this is so cute in person! PPP scalloped die, and as previously mentioned, an Avery Elle stamp and die. I colored the cake with Copics and added various sequins for the shaker part. I hope you like this as much as I do. And I'm off to get to my 'care giving' duties. Have a good day and as always,

Feeling very happy to have inspired you Barb, your card is so sweet and the Chamomile ink was a great choice to use! My sister is 'owl' fixated so that is why I tend to create some cute owl cards, she gets a different one every year lol. And i hear you on the arranging those birds only 5 million times, sometimes for me I am sure it's about 6 million times at least... I've even stopped the camera while I sort out my embellies sometimes lol. Hugs to you, hope you have a great weekend, Therese x

Three fabulous creations! Totally in love with the owls and the cool technique of stamping the image over the color 'circles'. Your 'happy' card works....made me smile the moment I saw the colorful flock of birds! Great movement too. Third card - shaker element...nothing beats that! Nice scalloped border too!

I can't believe you are even asking the question - have we ever shopped so can make CASE someone's card?? Absolutely!! And that's why my stash is so overwhelming - and rarely do I actually get back to it and make the card!! Those are very sweet owls - and your sentiment is absolutely perfect!

Yes, there are plenty of talented enablers in blogland, inspiring us to go shopping... I assume it was a rhetorical question... Anyway, the adorable owls are hard to resist, I can see that. Adore your colorful flock of birds as well as the sweet shaker card!

I fell in love with Therese's card too, Bev, and I DO love owls. Why I don't have this set I don't know. You did a great job CASEing hers. I love your swoop of birds. They look like they're flying around the sentiment to call attention to it. The shaker is so soft and pretty.
