Couple of Things

Just dropping in quickly today. DH is under the weather and yours truly got a migraine IN CHURCH!! What the heck??!! Daughter Cathy, sil Jerry, and two of my all-grown-up grandkids were coming over following the service, so I couldn't just come home, take a pill, and crash. Nope. Made (as I promised I would) Ableskiver brunch. You've got to google them. Delish Danish pancakes. But am still in a huge fog. So will cut the chatter, and get down to brass tacks.

I have a card that fits three challenges, Curtain Call, Time Out, and SSS Work It Wednesday.

I've used felt, used a portion of the theme, "Give Thanks With A Grateful Heart," and used a SSS stamp on my card.

A scrap of blue patterned paper with a burlap tag diecut with a WPlus9 circle. Some oooollldd felt flowers that happened to fit the bill, and a nod to the silver candleholder with my silver Poppystamps branch. A trio of light yellow enamel dots, and a SSS sentiment which I adore.

Next, I want to play at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I fell madly in love with her very own tag from Day 4. Feast your eyes upon this:

I didn't have a fancy fonted 'Merry Christmas,' so I used a really pretty snowflake. And Anita, I had to shop after hanging out with you and Geri at the LH....

That's a PPP tag die for the base and a SSS snowflake die. It looks positively pretty in real life. Leaving you with happy thoughts and happy dances.

Noooo! So sorry to hear about the migraine, Bev. :( You are amazing to go home and take care of your family despite your pain. I love the different textures on your first card and yaaaaassss to making use of old crafty goodies! :) Your tag is an elegant beauty! Big hugs to you, my friend. I hope both you and DH are feeling better soon.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow, Bevie, and that DH feels better soon, too. I adore your textured and delightful blessings card and especially love the burlap circle!! And, of course, I swooned over that snowflake at the LH (and came home with a few, yay!) and here with this gorgeous gorgeous tag creation!! Take care this week! Love and hugs, Darnell

I have an Ableskiver pan but haven't actually made any. Maybe it's about time. How great that you had those felt flowers in the exact color in the challenge, Bev. They look great on the burlap. That snowflake is so gorgeous on screen I can imagine its glory IRL.

Another two awesome projects, love love the burlap and you snowflake tag is gorgeous!! I am on Day 3 of probably the worst YKW I have had in a year, I am feeling so sick. I hope yours was short lived. I received your beautiful birthday card, thank you so much for remembering. You are so much better at that than I am. xoxo

I hope by now you're feeling much, much, much better, Bev ... you're amazing carrying on with a YKW and not leaving everyone to fend for themselves! Abelskivers ... yum, yum, yum ... I'm remembering those soft, light, delicate little sugar dusted pancakes at the Lake House ... mouthwatering ... still! Now, your card ... every little detail is just perfect ... delicious texture in the burlap and felt, gorgeous shimmer in the sprig, those sweet pops of delicate colour in the enamel dots ... and that beautiful sentiment ... love it! So delighted to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Oh my, you've made that snowflake shine ... isn't it just beautiful in all it's glory against the navy ... so happy to have enabled, mon amie!! Big hugs & bisous, Anita :)

I had never heard of abelskivers but after reading your post, I Googled them and will definitely be making them for my Danish husband - thanks for the great suggestion!
Your card is so pretty - I love the combination of textures: the roughness of the burlap against the softness of the felt flowers, and the smoothness of the leaves - wonderful! Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out! Jill
