Back

I'm back home. Had an incredible mid-week adventure with my four little grandchildren. I got to go watch the little ones in between nannies. "G-man" is 7, "Lady-L" is 6, "D-boy" is 4 (well...he will be on the 12th of this month), and then there is 5-month old "A-girl". What I time I had. So much fun, but I'll be the first to admit that little kids are the domain of younger folks than I! Came home exhausted, but in such a good way! My son and dil are raising really sweet children. I wish you all could come and play with us when I go back this coming week. But I'm guessing that many of you out there either have children or grandchildren quite like them! Enjoy your families. Time passes so quickly. Relish each and every moment.

Had to run DH on a few errands once I got home, and have been trying to get back in the groove for the last day and a half. A few chores, with more to do, and the need to feed my addiction. Had. To. Make. Cards. Worked on rejects yesterday. Pretty sure Mr. Mojo was back with the little ones.... Today is a better day. Broke out the NBUS (love that acronym Darnell!!), and got busy. Less thinking, more doing. Sometimes that's just the ticket!! Am playing along with AEI©U Challenge # 1, Birthday. Just adore Avery Elle stamps. Killer quality...you should see my wish list...or maybe not.... ; )

This is what I worked on this morning...

I made a teeny shaker card. I love shaker cards, don't you?! Just a bitty bit of a shaker. In fun, happy colors. Lots going on here, but I don't think it's overwhelming. Neenah white base, and also the stitched panel. A scrap of that lovely aqua, as well as the polka dot frosting. All stamps are from Avery Elle. Studio G inks, MS glitter, a bit of ric-rac from Michaels, three white sequins, and though you can't see it in this photo, some Wink of Stella on the "MORE" part of the sentiment. ME stitched die. So, while the mojo seems to be working, I'm going back to crafting. Have a wonderful weekend. Happy dances everyone!!

Welcome back, Bev and Mr. Mojo. That little shaker flag is so cute. I'm going to have to try one some day. I'm glad you had fun with the grandkids. It's always wonderful to spend time with them, although mine aren't quite as tiring because they're older.

Mr. Mojo appears to have packed his bags and returned home, because this card is a winner in every respect! Your cupcake is delicious sporting its pink polka-dot icing and aqua wrapper, and the wee shaker flag: LOVE!! It would go well with my 5-sequin camera lens shaker I made a while back (even that was a challenge!). Time with family: yes, every. moment. a. treasure! My niece will be four on Monday - how did that happen!! Your grandchildren are so fortunate to have you nearby! Even though the visits are exhausting, I know you wouldn't have it any other way. Priceless times, indeed! Hugs~c

I have to agree with Tracey...a tag shaker card, you totally rock my friend! Not to mention that your card is simply awesome and your cupcake perfection. I love it. I am sure you had a blast with all those little munchkins, so fun to play with little ones, that is why I love my job. So happy to see that Mr. Mojo found his way back to you too...good luck with your chores tomorrow!

This is so darling, Bevie, and WTG with the NBUS!! I love that you used ric rac and somehow made that muffin look REAL, but best of all is that itty-bitty shaker part! Get outta town!! (No, wait, not yet, not 'til midweek!)

Do I love them? Yes, but are you asking that like, "don't you just love to make them?" The truth, embarrassingly, is that I have never made one! They just seem like SO much work to me. But this itty one has me interested. You clever girl! It never ever occurred to me, so thank you for the inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell

Welcome home Bev and welcome back to Mr Mojo! Sounds like you've had a super fun time with the littlies. And your card - so pretty. I love the tiny shaker. An excellent reminder (to me) that you don't have to do everything on a big scale. Ignore the chores - do more creating. lol hugs!

Your ability to effortlessly shirt from one style to another is definitely the characteristic of a talented crafter! From elegant to fun & whisical...just like that!

These colors jump right off the page - the bright pink ric-rac is totally an attention grabber! And the wee shaker banner is brilliant! Just 'shows to go ya' (my BIL's fav version of just goes to show you")that sometimes less is more! A larger shaker element would definitely have stole the sweet cupcake's day in the limelight!

Another one headed for the winner's circle!

It sounds like you had a lovely outing with your grandkids and family - I miss mine desperately but treasure the times we have together when it can happen. Your card is absolutely darling - I have no idea what that little acronym is that you shared but whatever it is, it worked! Love, love, love that little shaker flag - super cute indeed! Thanks so much for playing with us at the Avery Elle Challenge - we're so glad you did!
