You have to hear this story. I am still chuckling over it. Four year old granddaughter Kelly will be getting a brand new baby brother early in May. Mom, dad, and Miss Kelly have been discussing names. One of mom and dad's favorites was Patrick. Nice name, right? Well, they have a dog named Patton, aka Paddy. So Kelly vetoed Patrick, as "we already have a Paddy!" She did some serious thinking though and came up with a name she liked much better and thought was funny....."Ham Sandwich." Oh what a girl! Mom and dad are thinking of going with Shawn Patrick, though I suspect Kelly will call him "Ham" anyway!
Beyond the outline of my day and funny stories, I actually have a card to share with you. I went all CAS for this one. Though it's full of embellishments, it still manages to have a boatload of white space, and is definitely not busy! My inspiration came from this card by Ryann Salamon. Where she used buttons, I chose sequins. I'm playing along with the AEIheartU Challenge. Love AE stamps. Love their DT. And I'd like to encourage you all to play along!
My very, very QAECAS card:
One stamp. From Avery Elle. And I just love it! Perfect font with a rather amusing sentiment. A Neenah white base, which I scored along the lines where I wanted my sequins to go. Left the sentiment area unscored. SU black ink, and various sequins. Quite like this. Happy dances everyone!

This is definitely gorgeous - love the different colours and sizes of sequins grounded on the score lines - CAS perfection!
Well hello fabulous!
Well hello! this is gorgeous! Such a fab idea xx
I was crafting in between ironing today Bev... mixing work and play time totally makes sense!
Love your QACAS card!
HAVE A HAPPY WEEK!
Gorgeous CAS!! The sequins compliment the sentiment perfectly!! btw, while Shawn Patrick is a lovely name, I'm with Kelly - I vote for Ham!!
"Ham Sandwich" - how cute is that! Can you just imagine her introducing him, "Hi, this is my little brother, Ham Sandwich" - and the look on people's faces when she does so! Out of the mouths of babes...Your sequin card is quite dashing, as they fit the sentiment to a 't.' Love it - cas, cool, clever and all around pretty,++++! Hugs~c
What could spell gorgeous more than multicolored sequins.
Um ... I'm a bit speechless, Bev! First off because we're only just recovering from falling about at the idea of your new littly being called Ham Sandwich (what a creative little soul Kelly is!). Secondly because your card is simply perfect ... the scored lines, the wonderful white space ... and each individual sequin in it's own perfect space! Can you tell I love it? I do! Anita :)
Ham sandwich!! lol Kelly is so witty, love the sweet innocence of the kids :) and ur card is awesome, I would have never thought that such a design will look so amazing !!
Love "ham sandwich". That is absolutely hilarious! And love your card Bev!
I love the colors you chose for your sequints, Bevie, and I love that you have them lined up. It really draws the eye in and captures the perfect sediment!!
(And, oh my, that was funny! I think they should call him Samuel Patrick. Ham, Sam, that's pretty close!!) Hugs, Darnell
Love how nicknames come about. Such a cute story! :)
Love your card too, Bev. You rock the CAS look. The sentiment is so fun too. :)
Sweet card & story! When I was pregnant with my daughter, my oldest son, then five, had two names that he suggested: "Pickle" & "Strawberry"! LOL!
Sorry to take so long to get to your fabulous and fun card...what a wonderful way to use sequins and your sentiment is sweet with all those festive colors.
Aren't kids so funny?! Loved your story. Congrats on the new grand son! Your card is simply delicious - the sequins are the perfect compliment to that sweet sentiment. And I adore all of the white space! Thanks so much for playing with us at the Avery Elle AEI♥U Challenge! We're so glad you did!
Such a fun story--thanks for sharing! I do love how CAS your card is and the perfect placement of those sequins, too! Thanks for joining AE Challenge!
Your granddaughter sounds like a total cutie! When I was pregnant with my second daughter, her older sister wanted to name her Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Seriously! :) Anyway, LOVE your card- the sequins compliment that "gorgeous" sentiment so well. Thank you for sharing your talent with the AE Challenge!
