StampingPals Challenges

Well hello, and a very Happy October to you all. We are inching our way toward 2021, and I'm fairly certain that most of us will be glad to see the back of 2020! But we're not here to talk about that, are we?! We're here for the cards! A much better subject, in my humble opinion.

A while back, I discovered a new challenge blog created by my good friend and fellow crafter, Kylie Page. With John so sick back then, I was unable to participate, but more recently, I played and my card was chosen as the winner for Challenge # 6! This challenge, StampingPals, runs for an entire month, and the prompt varies. This month, we are asked to use a punch. I hope you'll dig out your punches and join me and the rest of the incredible Design Team for October's challenge!

When thinking about what kind of card I wanted to make, my mind went to the border punches I have in my stash. I messaged Kylie to make sure those would be alright to use, and she said that any kind of punch was fine. So I started rooting through my punch drawer, and found a completely different one that kicked a completely different idea into my brain. Here it is:

The yellow gingham paper is/was a giant scrap I found in my files. Next, I took a piece of white cardstock, and punched the corners with an EK Success punch, and then trimmed a separate, stamped panel to fit the corner areas. It just slides right in, though I did add some tape to keep it in place. The bouquet is from a SU set, and the sentiment is from HA. I colored the image with Copics, and added a smidgen of WoS to the ribbon around the stems. This turned out just like I pictured it! Love it when that happens!! I do hope to see you in the gallery, so give it some thought; you've got all of October to play, and then dig out those punches! Be sure to stop by StampingPals and see what lovely cards the Design Team has created, too. And as always...

Really sweet card. I love your little flower image and the yellow gingham paper, so cherry. - It's fun to look through our stash of stuff and find things like that punch (I may just have that punch) - I too found stuff today that I didn't know I had. - Thanks for the link to this challenge.

Pretty card, and I love those "photo corners", which add so much to the overall feel. But do explain how you didn't lop off the whole corner... Maybe it's me but I'm befuddled!

Well, you had me right away with the yellow gingham background my friend, and yellow being my favorite color and all... This card is definitely a beauty Bev, and your floral image is one of my favorite SU! sets! I've only ever colored it in purple, but have to admit I'm loving it in the yellow! And then the punched corners...totally brings the card up to another level all together!! Lovely, lovely card my friend and congrats on your win and GD spot...well deserved!! Hugs. :0)
