Twofer Challenge #30

It's Twofer Challenge time again! Yay! I truly enjoy the way this challenge really makes me 'think outside the box.' I'm finding 'new' ways to use stamps all the time now, which, if you think about it, at least doubles the ol' stash! It's almost like free stamps... My focal stamp is an older stamp from Avery Elle, and as I sit here and write, I've come up with another idea for it and will give it a go pretty darn soon... at least I think I will. Mr. Mojo hasn't been around much since John was diagnosed with cancer and then passed. I've only made a few family birthday cards, but I will strive to keep moving forward and get that mojo workin' again.

This month, we have a fun challenge for you.

Right away I thought of that 1950s play and subsequent film Teahouse of the August Moon, but didn't go in that direction. But here's where I did go:

A birthday card and an Easter card.

For my birthday card, I found an ancient paper pad, and decided to use some pretty green as wall paper above my scored white cardstock wainscoting. Another piece from the same pad was die cut and trimmed to create the valance above the EH window. The hills are from LF, the trees are from C9, the Sun is from AE, and the sentiment is from W&W.

Except for the AE Sunburst, all the stamps on this Easter card are from PPP. LOVE that cross, and I love the sun/Son shining behind it. Mighty EZPZ.

Now I know you'll want to play along this month. Be sure to pop over to the Twofer Challenge and see what the DT has come up with, as well as our Guest Designers Mac and Linda, too.

Bev, what a beautiful sun stamp! Both of your cards highlight that sun nicely. The Easter Card is simply stunning and your peek outside makes me want to go play.

I almost used that stamp for my twofer too, Bev ... it's a beauty isn't it! What a lovely tranquil view you created from your craft room window (that's what I'm calling it!) ... imagining you gazing out and being inspired! Love your Easter card ... it's simple, clean and basically says it all in one small space! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)

I want a dining room just like your 1st card Bev, with the wainscoting and that beautiful green wallpaper, and that PERFECT valance!! Oh right...we're talking about the sun (been watching too much HGTV this Summer!)...and it's a beauty too! Totally completes the perfect little view you created outside your window! And that sun is also PERFECT on your Easter card...SOOOO pretty Bev and a fabulous reminder of our risen Savior! You definitely haven't lost your mojo my friend as both of your cards are FABULOUS!! Stay safe and well! Hugs. :0)

Get outta town with your wainscoting! I love it, especially with that "wallpaper"! A lovely valance too. It almost makes me think you have decorating on you mind, hmm. I love how you used that sun on both of your cards and it really makes an impact behind the cross on you Easter card!

Clearly two very different and wonderful cards Bev. The window and the wallpaper birthday card with the sunshine peeping through looks wonderful x. A stunner of an Easter card too x. I have enjoyed being a guest designer this month and thank you for all your inspiration x. Sending hugs x.

Two really thoughtful designs here, Bevie! I love the sun poking through the window and how you created your sweet hills and trees outside the window and a pretty valance inside! I grew up with this kind of wallpaper/bead board interior design and have a real soft spot for it, especially the white bead board. In fact, you'll find white bead board in my kitchen as the backsplash and fronting the peninsula! I also love your Easter blessings design which is very poignant and striking in its simplicity while conveying a powerful message. We're all here sharing in your journey and sending love and hugs. Miss you! Darnell

Hey, that could be moon-glow, too, right? No need - both perfection.

Wow Bev, these twofers are truly stunning!! I love the view from your window in your first card, the bead board embossed or is it debossed-yes debossed is just beautiful. I have vinyl bead board in my bathroom and I love it so much. I'd love it in my kitchen as a backsplash-but that is but a dream right now. The "wall paper and curtain" are just beautiful and perfect! I hope you have a real life beautiful view out one of your windows my friend. Those trees are so pretty and right on scale from the looks of it. But what really steals the show is that sun shinning down, oh my I am so loving this sun/star burst what ever you want to call it. It is a fabulous stamp! Then there is your Easter card, it is just perfect in every way! I love that cross, it is a beauty, but the sun/son is perfect behind it. The pure white of the card base, the cross, the light-can it get any better?!! Your mojo hasn't gone anywhere, it's there...just lying low. Know that we are with you on this difficult journey. Sending blessings, heart healing love and hugs, Brenda

Two beautiful cards Bev! Looks like your mojo is working fine right now. I love the sweet window scene with the fancy wallpaper, wainscotting and valance. Adorable! And a lovely scene outside with the trees basking in the sun! Your Easter card is lovely with the sun behind the cross. So inspiring! Take care my sweet friend. Sending love and hugs your way. Love, Loll

Both of these are so lovely, Bev. I love the view and hope you have one like that from one of your windows. The Cross is beautiful with the rising sun behind it.

I love how you have used your Sun stamp here two great and very different points of view. The full sun behind the Cross is such a traditional and powerful image and you have done it justice. Thank you so much for your kind words at My little place it is so lovely to hear from people and know what you have made resonated with them. x
