Twofer Challenge #28

Summertime. Normally a time for going to the beach, camping in the mountains, water sports, vacations, cookouts, fireworks, and all those fun things we do in sandals. Not so much this year I'm thinking. Later this week, my excitement will be to ask my neighbor to come over and toss back a few gin and lemonades on the patio, keeping the requisite social distance of course...if I can find the courage to have a little drinky-pooh (migraine trigger). Might be worth the headache, though...hahahaha!

I'm still searching for my new normal, but I'm not going to push it; it'll come all in good time. I do have a couple of cards for The Twofer Challenge to show you. I'll admit I did them back in February when John was 'slowing down,' so just this post is new. There are so many directions to take this prompt. And I know we all have some kind of circle or bubble in our stash, right?! (ok, ok...some of us have several/many/lots!!)

Here are my two cards, photographed together:

A masculine-ish birthday card, and a thank you card.

For this card, I cut summertime mountains with MFT's triangle dies in three colors. Then I cut a circle with the WPlus9 circle, and tucked it behind the mountains. The border is a rich, deep green color, but of course you can't tell in either photo... The sentiment is from HA.

Circles and polka dots! That cute paper is from Doodlebug, and it makes me smile. I found a scrap of that tealish color that matched perfectly, and I used that very same WPlus9 circle die and cut out several to pop on top. The diecut sentiment is from Avery Elle, and I scattered some sequins around for just an extra touch of flavor.

So that's it for me this time. Be sure you stop by The Twofer Challenge blog and see what the other members of the DT have created. Oh!, and our lovely Guest Designers, Jenny and Linda, have made a little something special too! See you in the gallery!

The layered colours in your 'misty mountains' are delicious, Bev ... just the spot to observe the sun rising (or setting!) behind them! Those tiny polka dots behind the grand ones are so fun ... looks as though some of the little circles are all gown up and turned into big ones! Cool, graphic, stylish! Sending big hugs and bisous, sweet friend! Anita :)

We are going green on Friday but I am nervous about it. I'm afraid people are going to go crazy going out and not following the guidelines. So far in the yellow phase they are doing pretty good, but then again I've only been out to the pool store and the grocery store so don't really know what people are doing! I know I wear my mask and then as soon as I get in the car, I sanitize my hands and such! I've been through two bottles of wine and that is a LOT for me! lol As I'm not much of a drinker, but do enjoy a glass of wine from time to time or a wine cooler. So two bottles is unheard of for me, but here you go-I drank two. Crazy times for sure. I am loving your twofer cards Bev!! The mountains card is so fun and makes a great masculine birthday card. Love the circle as the sun. Then there is your thank you card, loving the circles on top of the polka dots! Such a fun card too. Hugs, Brenda

I'd love to come over and share a bit of that gin and lemonade! Your birthday card is wonderful with the gradient colors of the mountains and that sunshine circle peeking from behind. I love your polka dots on polka dots design - it's such a cheerful thank you card!

I'll come over for the lemonade (the alcohol would unfortunately make me fall asleep on ya!!) if you make the rain stop...PLEASE?!! I've missed you but know you are busy like you said finding your new normal and in time your craft room and computer will call you back. As far as your cards, you know you had me with the polka dots and circles card...LOVE it!! And your mountain card? Oh Bev...it is AWESOME!! So simple with the different colored triangles and the circle for the setting (or is it rising?) sun...totally in LOVE with this card too! Take care my friend! Hugs. :0)

Great minds think alike, Bevie, cuz we both used our circles to make sunshine on our cards! I love yours and the way you tucked it behind a mountain range for a terrific guy birthday card! And, of course, you know we share a love of polkie dots, so I'm aswoon over your bold and graphic thank you card with lots of bling!

I hope you enjoyed popping back into Blogland because I sure enjoyed seeing you here and I hope you are able to come back soon ~ as your heart desires. Wish I could teleport to your patio and enjoy a drinkie poo with you and Michael! Yum! Love you and miss you, Darnell

How clever to create that mountain scene with the sun, and of course you can never go wrong with a polka background either lol. Ps I'll pour a wine to share with you when you have that gin my friend x

Two fantastic circle cards Bev! I LOVE your mountain range with the sun in th background. Very geometric / graphic and so modern. Love the colours too! Your teal circles with polka-dot background is just plain happy! Smiled when I saw it.

Thinking of you Bev and sending a big squishy hug. Love, Loll

It looks like when the time is right you'll have a patio full of friends to share drinks with, Bev, me included. Those mountains are glorious and you didn't need a special die to create them. The dotty card is bright and graphic and the sentiment works well in one of the big ones.

Two great cards for the Twofer challenge. Love your mountain scene with the sun peaking out and then your very graphic card. Bev, thanks for having me as GD this month at Twofer.

What a clever way to use the triangle and circle dies! I love this clean and graphic design! The second card is fabulous too - the big circles look great against the polkadot background!

Lovely cards, Bev! Love the thought behind each, they're so happy -- and it's SO GOOD to see you any time you feel up to it!

Oh I LOVE the cards you created. So simple but pack a punch!! I love how you created the mountains on the first card!! SO CLEVER!! The second card is beautiful in that teal color. GORGEOUS design on both!!

As for the "new normal," not sure what that is for me yet. However, I don't mind the social distancing so much. I am a loner and have a lot of hobbies so as long as I talk to others, I am okay. Big Hugs Bev!!

Your twofer cards remind me that I often overthink when it comes to this challenge. The simple sun setting or rising behind the mountains is so clever and makes a perfect card for men or women! Loving those dotty papers on the graphic thank-you card too with the teal colors and cute thank-you sentiment placed on top of one of them! I hear you on the social meeting on the patio with a good drink. It's just what the doctor ordered, well maybe minus the gin, but do have a good time!

Wonderful twofers, Bev! One is nature-themed and the other is geometric! I love the soft color combo of the mountains and the circle die is perfect for the sun. The polka dots background and the color matching big circles create a fun feeling. The shine from the sequins is so pretty!

I love the two different ways you contrasted the circle or circles in these designs. One is done by contrasting it with the triangles, and the other with the tiny dots. Great look for both.
