March Forth on the First

It's March already. I swear that before you know it, we'll be singing "O Come All Ye Faithful," but in the meantime, I guess it would be a good thing to go through Spring, Summer and Fall before we embark on another Winter!

In regards to my last post, here, I wanted to thank you for letting me know how you feel and what you do about cooking and baking. (And if you email me Sharon, I'll reply with that recipe...) Even after all these years, I still enjoy both, but sure wish I had someone to come in and clean up the mess I make in the kitchen, lol! Just found a recipe for a decadent sounding Chocolate Banana Cake. I won't touch it, but DH will be as happy as a husband with a chocolate/banana cake!

Two cards today. Neither was difficult to make, and both use a bit of patterned paper. The first one will head off to the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge, and the second will go to CAS(E) This Sketch and Time Out.

Here's the first:

I used a scrap of this fun, bright patterned paper and cut it with a PPP border die. The sentiment is from MFT and I used a green ink to compliment the leaves.

For my next card, I used an Ellen Hutson die in a 'unique' way...or at least I think it's unique...

I took an MFT Stitched Square die and cut a panel from white cardstock. Then I used that EH Skinny Stripes die and cut the center. Made a nice, striped square. Next though, I pulled a scrap of MFT black and white striped paper and fitted it behind. Quite the interesting pattern, I think. That's an MFT glasses die, and a SSS sentiment. Now I've got to run. You all have a wonderful weekend and...

That striped paper is the same width as the die cut and it was a very unique way to make that grid, Bev. I love those fancy glasses.

What pretty cards Bev!! I loved the flowers on the first card. The papers go so well with that sentiment font. I LOVE your fun second card. So clever to use the dies like that and I LOVE the glasses. So fun!!

Oh your card for Time Out makes me want to do a Happy Dance! So wonderfully CAS and such a creative way to design the grid pattern, you rocked it here! And the perfect unquie glasses...oh I want a pair in that colour, you know that bathing suit you made for the last challenge and these glasses would look so good together! Thanks for joining Time Out

I don't mind the clean up to much in the kitchen, but have to admit it would be nice to have someone else clean up after I'm in the kitchen! What fun sketches to work with and I love your take them! The first card is so springy looking and makes me long for spring even more. Love it! Your second card is so clever and I am loving it! I love how your used those dies to make that center part-very clever! The sunglasses are fabulous but the sentiment is even more fab! Well done! Hugs, Brenda

Stop the presses, that checkered panel card is the coolest thing since sliced bread! I had to look very closely to see that you layered over b/w striped paper. I thought you were going to say it was two striped dies laid crosswise. Yes, it IS a unique way to use the die! Love your happy, springy card, too! Hmmmm... now I have to read about the cooking issue.

I love this spring themed birthday card - I'm so ready for spring (I'll be saying that until the end of May, I'm sure). Yes, such a unique way to make that great pattern! It compliments those cat eye glasses perfectly!

Cool use of those skinny stripes ... that die recently arrived in my stash (nice GC win!) and I've yet to use it ... adding this brilliant idea to my list, thank you! LOVE those cool shiny glasses ... can I just say they're spectacular!! Delighted to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Thinking of you, mon amie ... big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
