It's Mon-turday

I thought, that since our lovely friend Darnell makes up new words which we all love, well, I thought I'd give it a go. "Mon-turday." It's a combination of Monday and Saturday. For those of us who are retired, every day is kind of like a Saturday, so it just made sense to me, lol! "Tue-turday" sounds funnier though...Go ahead, say it out loud in front of a three year old! My friend Mary would tell me I was naughty. She's not far from wrong, hahahaha!!  Anyway, thought I'd try it out on you. Doesn't quite work as the words Darnell invents, does it? Shoot. Oh well, let's move onto a couple of cards then, shall we?

I've got two for you this morning. The first one will head off to play at Tag You're It, which has a lovely and delicious prompt! POLKA DOTS. Sorry. Just couldn't contain my excitement. You know me. I love, adore, can't-live-without-them. My second card is off for a visit at Freshly Made Sketches. This one makes me giggle a little.

I put my tag onto a black and yellow matted base so it would really pop:

I may have to play again. It's 'polka dots' after all! The tag die is from RC, and the 'hello' sentiment is from Savvy dies, cut in both yellow and black. All the papers are from my scrap files, which really makes me happy! There's a bit of yellow twine and a b&w polkie dotted ribbon to finish it off.

Up next is a bit 'o fun:

It loosely follows the FMS sketch. My line of penguins follows the horizontal line of the sketch, and the icebergs are representative of the circles. They're from EH. The layers of snow are cut with LF dies, and the snowballs are just punched from an olllld paper punch. I did a little blending with those nice, new-fangled brushes. They work so well for inept me. I used a Sunny Studio sentiment to finish this one. Can you just picture the plop-splat on the back of a penguin head?! Reminds me of days gone by...not like I would have done anything like that....hahahahaha! So that's it for me. I am hoping you all have a delightful week, and as always...

Hahaha ... Mon-turday ... what a great combination, Bev! Talking of great combinations, that yellow and black, polka dotted, stripey tag is delicious ... so bold and zesty ... such a happy hello! Love the penguins (you got the dies too!) ... they're fun and playful and just so wonderfully quirky! Big hugs and bisous, my sweet friend! Anita :)

Well I like polka dots too and combined with black and yellow its a sure fire winner, I love the drop shadow under the hello. The naughty penguin really appeals to my sense of humour and I think its brilliant having him all ready to take aim at the unsuspecting group, fun design x

A girl after my own heart, I make up words all the time, just ask spellcheck lol. Thanks so much for the fun inspiration today, I just wanted to know if that was you with the snowball?

I think once you are retired you are allowed to make up any words you want! I think your penguins are super cool and the ice bergs are such a fun representation of the circles. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

You and Darnell are a dangerous combination - particularly with words like "Tue-turday"!!

Such a wonderfully creative use of the sketch!! How fun to have a row of penguins with that one little guy popping up with the icebergs!! (Although he's clearly looking for trouble with the snowball!) Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

It sounds like you can be a bit naughty, Bev. But only in a prankster kind of way. Like hiding behind an iceberg to seek snowball revenge. So cute. Your yellow and black polka dotted creation is so bright and happy. Thanks for sharing it at Tag You're It!

Two fab cards, Bevie! There is just something warm and cozy about the sunniest yellow paired with black and white and polka dots with stripes! Love it! And your penguin card is an absolute hoot! Yup, that would be me, too, back there throwing that snowball and getting caught and having to go to the principal's office and ... oh, maybe that struck a nerve, lol! But speaking of me, thank you for the shout out! You can make up new words, too, or not. I just want you to do you ~ you do it so well and YOU is who I cherish as a BFF and a very funny lady who wants to add turds to all the days of the week!🙈! Miss you! Hugs, Darnell

Well, I tried your word out on every day of the week and Tue-turday is the smelliest. Eat beans for dinner, then celebrate Tooter-day. Okay... we both have that polka dot-loving gene 'cause I'm crazy for them, too! And yellow! Ohhhh, and that darling dress in the inspiration photo! Of course, you HAD to play along and make your cheerful tag all popping with the yellow and black. Love the yellow behind the black on the "hello". It glows like sunshine! Your penguin card is the cutest interpretation of the sketch. That one little guy is full of mischief. There's one in every crowd. The rest of them appear to have a hunch what's coming. So much fun!
