February...

It's February already. I'd like to know what happened to January??! I just wasn't ready for it to be a new month yet. I've still got January things waiting, for Pete's sake! *sigh* Pretty sure I don't have a choice however, so will crack on with things as best I can. This past December when I was divvying up my stash of cards for part of my kids/grandkids Christmas gifts, I realized I had way too few masculine cards. In partial remedy to that small dilemma, I thought I'd concentrate for much of January and February on making those "manly" cards. I've got two to show you today. Let's get to them, shall we?!

I'm joining in the fun over at Addicted To Stamps and More, where it's "Anything Goes." And I'll also be playing along with Less Is More, where not only is the theme a delicious navy and yellow, it's their 8th Birthday. I hope you'll join me in wishing them a hearty congratulations! Great challenge and a great team!

My first card:

I layered kraft and white rectangles, which were cut with MFT dies. The striped stamps are from AE, the sentiment is from HA, and the nautilus is from Gina K. Navy blue ink. I brushed in a little pink color on the shell, and called it good. Good 'manly' card, I think.

My second card:

I CASEd a card of mine that I haven't as yet posted, but hope to do so soon. It's a good CAS, masculine card. Navy and yellow cardstock cut with MFT chevron dies. A W&W sentiment stamped in CP ink. Done. Definitely a 'Happy Birthday' goes out to LIM! Now I've got to run. You have a wonderful day, and as always...

Two wonderful masculine cards Bev. I try to to make masculine cards whenever I can since I have a lot of men in my life (hubby, two sons, son-in-law, 2 grandsons). Yep, I'm totally outnumbered and it's the best. They all take good care of me. :) Have a great week Bev! xx

Two beautiful cards with totally different looks! I especially love the masculine card you created with dies -these bold colors really make the chevron shape pop and I love the layout you created with these dies. Such a stylish, wonderful card design. Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!

Coming from an MSU family I don't like seeing that maize and blue, Bev. LOL The chevrons worked beautifully for a masculine card, almost like a rugby shirt.

Good idea to have a focus. Much better than going around all blurry. Do we ever have enough masculine cards? Well, you're two more ahead now and because you're so good at CAS these are just perfect for guys! I especially love those chevron stripes and bold colors. The seashell, sigh... I'm so fond of beachy cards, yet rarely make them. I just can't figure me out.

I particularly like your CAS chevron/ric rac card. Simple and well designed. I'll have to CASE you as I so struggle for masculine cards. tfs

Both cards are great masculine cards Bev!!! I love the first one, the stripes are fun and always manly to me for whatever reason. I love that shell too, and the way you color it. Such a great masculine card for sure! The second card is such fabulous colors! I love the navy blue and yellow together! Chevrons are so cool and I think it makes for a fabulous masculine card. I haven't played with my chevron stamps since 2013! I did thank you cards for when Dwayne had his surgery. I think I need to get them out and have a play. Thanks for the inspiration Bev! I have no clue where January went, I'm in the same boat as you. lol But the months come and go whether we are ready or not. Hugs, Brenda

Me too, Bev ... still have January things to do ... they've become February ones! Cool manly designs, my friend ... the first is calm, warm and serene ... the second vibrant, graphic and fun ... and they're both brilliant! You got some CP ink ... or did you already have it? Either way ... oooooh, yum! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
