It's November Already

I know it's not just me; 2018 has really flown by, hasn't it?! Can't believe it's November already!! I have to say that I love November. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and as much of my family gathers here as can. I've started shopping for the dinner, and we're hosting a big crew this year again. Including my 88 year-old dad. He's talked about how much fun he had with us last year, and particularly his great grandchildren, so he is more than excited to come this year and be entertained by all those little kids. Guess who's sitting at the kids table? Nope. Not my dad. Me!! I always try to sit with them and get the scoop on what they like best about the food. It varies widely, and is always funny to get their opinions. And I've got help this year cooking. The cardiologist says to reduce stress on my body, so my children and grandchildren will help cook. I think it's a good idea, as they'll get to know grandma's recipes for their own Thanksgivings in the future. I think I'll sit on the stool in the kitchen and just orchestrate everything! "It's good to be the queen!" Teeheehee.

How about a couple of cards for today? Okie dokie. Two cards, four challenges. This first card will head off to City Crafters and Addicted to Stamps and More.

Week 436 ~ Zig-a-Zag-Ah

My card looks like this:

I used a gray chevron patterned paper from MFT, and scraps for the rest. Those are MFT triangles, and a PTI sentiment. EZPZ.

Next, I'm playing at Time Out, and SSS Wednesday Challenge where it's Anything Goes.

I went for something very Fall-like.

Random scraps from my files make up the base and the frame. Those are LF stamps and dies and I colored them with Copics. Thanks to Kara, I've gotten a smidgen better at coloring. Coloring makes me happy. Apples make me happy. Making cards makes me happy. You make me happy. And as always...

Your colouring is amazing (and so is Kara's) and it's definitely good to do what makes you happy, so colour away! Hope you have fun watching your recipes being cooked and sitting at the kids table!

How fabulous that you have help cooking this year!! You deserve it!!! And I think it is cool that you are passing down the family recipes. I wish I had done this with my grandmother.

I LOVE your two cards. The first one is very masculine and the CAS design is awesome!! The apples on the second one look good enough to eat. I have this stamp set and have yet to make a card with it!! Great design on both cards!!

Your Thanksgiving plans sound FABULOUS Bev and I really like the idea of sitting on a bar stool and orchestrating all the cooking...wonder if I could try that at my house?!! (I'll let you know if it works! :0) ) Your cards are wonderful...love the simplicity of all the chevrons on the 1st card and your coloring will definitely make Kara proud (she's an amazing colorist and teacher, isn't she?!!!) on the 2nd card with the apples and bushel basket! Have a great weekend my friend! Hugs. :0)

Sounds like you're one happy girl all around, Bev. Making cards makes me happy too and yours are wonderful. Your Copic coloring is terrific. Thanks for sharing your masculine birthday card with us at Addicted to Stamps and More.
I remember the year my mother broke her leg. We put her on a wheeled chair and pushed her around so she could push us around telling us just how to do things for Thanksgiving dinner. Actually it was more of us saying "We can do it! You just watch." I'm sure having help will reduce stress and make it more fun for everyone.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and the idea of sitting and conducting as the kids and grandkids cook sounds amazing. I too love to share with my grandkids and hear their feedback, it can be so funny some times. I'm just imagining you orchestrating the cooking from the stool by the kitchen island, Bev ... and smiling all over my face at the thought of you having so much fun amidst all those littles ... happy dancing indeed (in a very gentle, sitting down sort of a way)! Your cool chevrons are fabulous ... stylish and fresh ... and deliciously graphic! Oh my, your colouring ... it's fantastic ... that basket of apples is simply luscious ... and I love that single smiling apple that's tumbled out onto the card front ... so fun! Delighted to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Big hugs and bisous, mon amie, Anita :)

Yes, I think you'll be a stellar Queen, overseeing Thanksgiving dinner preparations, and then joining the littles at the 'Royal' table! Fun and festivities, all around! A delightful twosome of creativity here! Stylish zig-zags and WOW apples! Your colouring blows me away! Please, please, please...will you share some of the tips you learned from Kara? I need all the help I can get! YOU make me happy....just in case I haven't reminded you lately!
hugs, love and misses,
