Trying to be Normal

I'm trying to be a little more "normal" these days. Well...as normal as I can be, lol!! Went to see my Electrophysiologist (a type of cardiologist) a couple of weeks ago, and while my heart has healed from my ablation, I've got something 'new and completely different' going on with my heart. Nothing serious, or so he says, but I'm wearing a heart monitor 24-7 for 30 days. It's mostly not bad, except at night when it drops off the bed. And I've hired a housekeeper. She cleans like I do and is as anal retentive as I am about those certain areas in the house. You know...those places that HAVE to be ultra super duper clean. *happy sigh* It's nice to know that I'm not the only one in the world who is 'slightly' crazy about those things. Behind the bar in the basement, well, who cares, right?! But kitchen sinks should sparkle....

Oh! You came here for cards, didn't you?! I've got a couple and will get right down to it, with much less chatter. I'm playing along with Sunday Stamps Challenge with this first one.

Love me some scallops...

I used my AE scalloped die for the wavy blue panel and trimmed the other papers with it too. Not sure about the wavy paper or the grass (cut with an MFT grass die),  but the little polkie dots are from LF. All the stamps, except the sentiment are from Hello Bluebird. Just sweet. And that sentiment is from A Muse Stamps. On to my second card...

This one will go to The Card Concept and SSS Wednesday Challenge

A bit of a ping and the card was made!

I went a little Clean and Layered for this card. Lots of white space. The stamps and matching dies are all from Ellen Hutson. All colored with Copics, and the Polaroid frame is a TE. And while you can't see it, the rainbow and unicorn are all spiffed up with a little Wink of Stella. This one makes me smile. Hope it makes you smile too. And I've got a million things to do, so I'm going to shut up now. As always, dear friends....

Aw, such a cute lamb - perfect paper choices to set your little Spring scene! I'm totally in love with that big border scallop, too, sigh... Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!

Sounds as though you're slowing down and chilling a little, Bev ... yay ... good for you ... keep it up!! What a delightful duo ... that little sheeplette is adorable in her polka dot flower meadow scene ... and I can't imagine a better take on that inspiration than your polaroid of the rainbow leaping unicorn ... it's magical! Big hugs and bisous, my dear friend, Anita :)

So sorry to hear your heart has a boo-boo, Bev. It's clear your 'new and different' heart ache hasn't had an impact on your creativity muscle... these are both so cahUTE! take care of your sweet self!

Two sweet cards Bev!! These make me smile. I'm glad you had fun making them.

Sorry to hear there's more issues with your heart. So upsetting ... sending hugs to you. You did the right thing getting a house keeper. That will take a little bit of the load off you. Take care, sweet friend! xx

It sounds like you're on the right track hiring a housekeeper to take some of the stress off, Bev. Enough so that you had the chance to make not one, but two cards. That little lamb is darling and the unicorn and rainbow card is magical.

Not liking this heart thing Bev. But hopefully this heart monitor will let the doctor know what needs to be done to keep your heart healthy. I am very happy that you found a good housekeeper and hired her! That will take that part off you while you are helping DH and your own health. Good for you! Wish I could find a good one, but then I wouldn't be able to afford her. lol Love both of your cards! They are adorable!!! The scene in the first on is so cute, loving the sketch and your take on it. Your second one just makes me smile as unicorns are all the rage right now. I just love the sentiment, too cute! Keeping your and DH in my prayers. Hugs, Brenda

Hope you're healing and taking time to take care of you. Both cards are great but I really like that unicorn card - love the 'doodle' look to it and that sentiment is perfect. Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept.

Although the heart issue is concerning, I'm glad the electro-guy proclaimed it as 'nothing serious.' Thirty days of monitor = not fun, but good to know he wants to figure things out to get you 110% back to your healthy+ self. Hiring a housekeeper: fabulous idea, and how fortunate to find one as thorough as you are. Eases your mind on so many levels. Thrilled that you've found time to craft and such delights they are! I want to give your sweet lamb a cuddle! So adorable! And your unicorn, leaping over the rainbow, is pure joy! Reflecting the sentiment back at you, wonderful friend!
We had a CRAZY snowfall yesterday...so. much. snow! Hoping that 'slightly' warmer temperatures will see it melt, but...perhaps winter is here to stay...
Mega Hugs, oodles of love and lots of misses,
~c

So happy to hear that you found a housekeeper that has the same standards as you! I've always heard that it's really hard to find a housekeeper, period, let alone one that cleans as oneself! But maybe that's just in this area...
Your cards are both so sweet! That little lamb makes my heart melt and your rainbow card is delightful!
Have fun,
Susanne

Your card is fabulous but I am so sorry to hear you have not been well. I have been so out of touch this summer and I didn't know. Good news that you are feeling better and I know a drag with the monitor but they do these things for a reason. Maybe its time to look after yourself a bit.

Such sweet pastels and unicorns - love them!! I currently don't have any truly little girls in my life and it makes me sad. (I have young nieces who believe they are grown-up!) I've read ahead in your blog and don't see any results for the heart monitor - you continue in my prayers for strength and health.

Such a cute little sheep on your first card! Love how you've made up your background with patterned paper. And that unicorn card is absolutely fabulous.
Thanks so much for your lovely comments on my blog lately. Unfortunately, I don't get around commenting a lot these days, though I try every now and then. :)
I hope results from the heart monitor will help to determine what's up with your heart. Keep up a good health! And I'm happy you've found a good housekeeper.
