I'm so sorry I haven't been around very much these last weeks. Had to do some 'company cleaning' in advance of DH's brother and our new sister-in-law's two week visit, which we're in the midst of even as we speak. Since they split their time between Greece, Germany and North Carolina, and don't get to the Midwest often, we don't see them but every four or five years. Right now, they're sight-seeing and I had time to make a quick card for a couple of challenges. I will definitely get back on track with visiting your blogs and commenting soon.
I took inspiration from both
Freshly Made Sketches and
Inspired By All The Little Things. I think you can see just how...
And here we go...
I'd been hoarding saving this navy blue woodgrain paper, as well as those poppies, for some time. Today was the day to pull them out and actually use them! I stamped and die cut some EH leaves, used an MFT flag die, and a MB sentiment. EZPZ. For now though, I'm off to clean the bathroom and run the vacuum before our company returns. Sending you all tons of warm wishes! And...

Beautiful card <3 enjoy your visitors
Oh, this is lovely, Bev! Wonderful take on the inspiration photo!
Gorgeous woodgrain, I can see why you were 'saving' it lol. I just got a paper pad from LF that is totally woodgrain and the test will be to actually use it and not to 'save' it myself.
Bev, this is gorgeous...wow.
Wow these flowers are gorgeous.....especially with that wonderful background! Glad you joined us at FMS!
I adore all things wood-grained! It's a fabulous stand-in for that gorgeous gauze-y dress, Bev! Just a beautiful card!

You carry on enjoying your visitors, Bev ... we'll all be here when you get chance to be back again! Gorgeous card ... such rich, satured colours in those blooms ... and delicious woodgrain in the background! Thinking of you, my friend ... and missing you! Sending big hugs & bisous, Anita :)
LOVE the pop of color on your dimensional poppies!! Thanks for joining us at Inspired By!
I'm sorry I haven't been around until now, Bevie! My eyeballs are a bit better today since we had a bit of rain last night. (Fantastic because it really helped the firemen!) I love your pretty take on the Inspired By photo inspiration! That blue woodgrain paper is amazing and I'm proud of you for finally turning it into a perfect background for your pretty poppies to pop off of! I think "off of" is every kind of wrong grammatically speaking, but what can I say? That's me! I hope all is well now that the company is almost gone!! Love ya, Darnell
Could see why you would hoard that paper! It is absolutely stunning Bev!
I can understand saving that gorgeous blue paper, Bev, but this was the perfect place to use it. Those big red poppies are beautiful.
I am also behind on commenting, if that makes you feel better! We do what we can, right?
I am always amazed at the gorgeous cards you make when you "just have a moment"! It would take me all day to produce a beauty like this! Love it!
Take care my friend and have a great week!
Oh this is so beautiful! Such a dramatic looking card and those flowers are divine! BTW company cleaning is about the only time my house is ever clean from top to bottom :) Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
These flowers are absolutely stunning and pop so perfectly on the woodgrain! I see why you hoarded them - but I'm glad you finally brought them out!
No wonder you've been saving that pp, Bev, it's fab! Perfect background for those lovely poppies.
Oooh, fabulous!! Love those poppies and that woodgrain paper is perfect!
Your card totally brings to mind Remembrance Day for me. It would be a perfect "With Sympathy" card for the right person. It is stunning!
