Well, here we are; the beginning of a brand, new year. Like you didn't know that... Anyway, I'm hoping that 2017 is going to be a much healthier year for DH, and a much craftier year for me! And maybe, just maybe, I can create more, post more, and comment more! So far, so good! Did you have a nice Christmas? We sure did. While the season was marvelous in its entirety, I have two special memories. The first is that my youngest son gave me an autographed Kris Bryant World Series baseball (so cool), and the second thing is, that rather than singing Christmas carols on Christmas Eve while opening presents, three-year-old Avie sang the "Go Cubs Go" song. I smile and chuckle every time I think about it. She had everyone here laughing at that! What a girl... I don't have a photo of her singing, but I do have one from a few days earlier having breakfast at grandma's house...
Naturally, we wear our princess crowns at breakfast! Isn't she just a hoot?!
I have a card (I know, I know...it's been a forever time, hasn't it?!). Decided to play along over at the
MFT Sketch Challenge. Love this sketch:
I wanted to make a card for a friend just to say 'hello.' Here's what I came up with:
Sorry about the lighting...I must be waaaay out of practice. The flag dies and the 'hello' are both from MFT, and the little die cut clipboard, along with the patterned paper are from Doodlebug. A smidgen of gray for the small flag, ME Smoke ink, and some bling finish this off. Kinda CAS, but I like the way it turned out.
And before I go, I want to say thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, cards, and most of all, for the support you've shown this past year. DH is getting stronger, and hopefully this year will be so much better. Blessings to you all. Happy dances everyone!

Oh I LOVE it. That little bit of note paper with the little hello just makes me smile.
Your Hello card is lovely Bev. What a lovely photo of Avie. Her breakfast looks really yummy. So glad that you had a good Christmas and I wish you and your DH a happy, peaceful and more healthy 2017 with lots of crafty fun for you too. Barbxx
Happy new year Bev! Could you granddaughter be more adorable? She is oh so sweet! Love her sweet little crown. And of course, love your card...combo of pink and gray are fabulous together. Here's to a very happy and healthy 2017.
Happy New Year, Bev! Glad to hear that DH is getting stronger and here's ago a healthy and happy New Year for you both. Oh my gosh Avie is adorable! A beautiful little ray of sunshine. :) And I love your card - you can never go wrong with pink and grey. Big hugs to you!
I'm wearing my Princess crown right now lol. and as for 'lighting' don't even go there GF, I've been struggling this weekend and I can't say why, so I'm glad you were still able to share. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my friend x
Your take on the sketch is terrific, Bevie, with the clipboard, notepaper, and hot pink, but it is waaaaaaaaay overshadowed by the squeezably delicious Avie in her princess crown about to embark on whipped cream, strawberries, and pancakes!! You know I'm so jelly you get to be blessed with all your delightful grandchildren and I'm so jelly of them because they get you for a GRANDma!! I hope your wishes come true for continued and renewed health to your DH, good health for you, too, and lots of crafty-bloggy time!! Happy New Year love and hugs, Darnell
Happy New Year, Bev! May all your wishes come true! Your sweet Princess Granddaughter put a smile on my face! And the friend that gets this awesome card is lucky! Love the color schemes!
I also wish for more time to craft and blog...
Hugs,
Susanne
Happy New Year Bev! I sincerely hope this is a wonderful year for you & your family. I hope your DH health continues to improve. Sweet Avie is gorgeous with a breakfast that looks fit for a princess! Love the pink, grey & white together on your lovely card!
I'm so glad the holidays went well and John is doing much better, Bev. I love your little pink and gray number and look forward to more wonderful cards from you in 2017.
Your holidays sound lovely Bev! I love the gift you receive from your son and I love the picture of your granddaughter! She is so dang cute! I definitely think one should wear their crown for breakfast! Haha Breakfast is looking pretty good too! Love, love your card Bev. A great way to say hello to someone far away. Love it and love the colors! I too, pray that this year will be a more healthier one for hubby and that you get to be more crafty this year! Hugs, Brenda
Oh, now that's a trend to follow - wearing one's crown at mealtimes! What a sweetie :) I love your mini clipboard card in the pink and grey scheme.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too! I've pretty much been MIA as well, so it's nice to get back into blogland to see what everyone has been up to!
Sounds like you had a fabulous Christmas! By the way, I really, REALLY would love a plate full of those delicious looking pancakes (waffles?) that sweet Avie has in front of her. The tiara would be lovely too!
First back to normal day here! Just me and the kitty in the house right now...and it's way too quiet!
Delightful card! Clean, simple AND it's sporting sweet polkie dots! Love the pink & grey color combo!
Happy New Year, Bev! I'm so glad to hear your Christmas was wonderful, and your sweet memories will bring you joy for days and weeks to come. Family is everything! I do hope your husband continues to feel better every day and that you can find some crafty time, too. I wish you nothing but the best in 2017!
What a sweet creation, and I'm sure a real blessing to get into "craftiness"! I hope 2017 is filled with blessings for you, DH and the health of everyone!
Pink and grey with a touch of bling ... how sweet and so pretty, Bev! Almost as sweet and pretty as little Avie with her cute PJs, scrumptious breakfast and sparkly crown!! So ... where's the photo of you with your crown then?? Thinking of you both and keeping you close in prayer as we launch ourselves on another year ... may it be a blessed and healthy one for you all! Big hugs & bisous, Anita :)
