And Here It Is. June.

Already. Each day brings us closer to Summer, at least that's what the calendar says, but it still feels like early Spring to me. The trees' leaves have burst their confines, baby birds are keeping their parents busy with feedings and songs, some flowers are blooming, but the temperatures are still a bit on the chilly side. Now, I don't mind cold or cool weather. But!, and I'm sure you can relate to this, I want to wear my sandals. I want to wear my sandals without fearing my feet will turn blue due to the crispy temps! I want to put on capri pants (I don't wear shorts anymore), slide into my favorite brown sandals and take a walk down by the lake shore. *Sigh* It is supposed to start warming up by the end of the week, so I guess I'll bide my time here in the craft room and wait patiently for warmer days.

I did manage to get some cards made this morning. One for AEI{heart}U Challenge and one for The Card Concept Challenge. First will be the AEI{heart}U card.

I'm not terribly good with rainbows. Not like Ardyth is. And I have several attempts in the recycle bin to emphasize that. Right after tossing the uglies, I went right into the bathroom and washed my mouth out with soap - I cussed. But not one to give up completely, I came up with this:

All the colors of the rainbow are represented in my stars. The dies and the sentiment are all AE. A bit of Versafine black ink and some Michaels white for the panel and the base.

My second card almost didn't get made. Thought the inspiration would be too hard for me. One more little ping, a little sleep, and whammo, here it is! Have a peek at the inspiration photo first...

See the shadowy gray in the top leftish? That was part of my inspiration. As was the green and white. And I'm happy with the way it turned out. Clean and Layered, I'm thinking...

A Michaels white base, and then a panel of a scrap of dp cut with my NBUS AE die. A little white vellum onto which I placed my sentiment. A scrap of gray and an MFT die created it. I do like this one. Hope you do too. And now I must run. Hope you all have happy dances this week.

I'm trying to hold back laughing at the image of you washing your mouth out with soap from having cussed...hahahahhaha! I believe, in the last week alone, I've used up an entire bar from doing the same thing! A whole lot o'cussing (of the tame variety, of course), a lot o' recycling/renovating (aiming to reduce *dud-ites*), and not a whole lot o'production. Mr. Mojo is long overdue for a return - and the pathetic part is that I have all kinds of new goodies to play with! Oh well, we shall persevere...Your cards are ultra-fabulous! Your bright green/white chevrons paired with the grey sentiment makes a wonderful statement; love it! Your sweet rainbow stars are all out fun; love it! So there you go: love x love! Winners, both, in my books!
Hugs~c

Ok...now that I have picked myself up off the floor from laughing I must say that you have two fabulous cards. Now I am a bit off track and do have a very good memory of sitting next to you for an entire week at the Lake House and not once did I ever see you run into the bathroom with a bar of soap...just saying.
Now back to your cards, love them both and I totally agree with you about the weather issues, sorry to be off track again. But I to wand to wear my sandals and carpis but we too have cool weather, just wish it would warm up just a smidge...
Your rainbow card is fabulous my sweet friend and I am sure Ardyth will agree. Miss you lots!

Oh what a fabulous starry rainbow of a card! And the green stripes are so springy. Now hopefully the weather will turn springy, too, so you don't have crispy blue toes.

Oh, I couldn't help but smile at your comment about washing your mouth with soap, Bev!!!! My mum loves to tell the story of how my gran did exactly that after my uncle had used a dirty word and she heard it!!!! He was still very young, but you've guessed it - he never used any dirty words again!!!!
I love your card!!! The green and white chevrons are beautiful and I love the sentiment in grey on the vellum!!!! Yep, I do like it a LOT, Bev!!!!
Have a happy day and happy dances!!!!

Yea it is cool here too and I wore flip flops to chemo on Monday. Needless to say I was freezing! So once home the flip flops came off and shoes went on. lol I wear capris too and of course had them on as well. I guess I will learn how to dress one of these days. lol I love, love your rainbow stars! So cute and such a clean card. I also love your take on the inspiration cupcakes photo. Loving the green chevrons and the grey birthday wishes on the vellum. And eye grabbing card! I will wait with you for the more normal temps for this time of year. I thought we were in June, but maybe I'm daydreaming and we are at the end of March?!! Crazy weather! Hugs, Brenda

I like your rainbow stars! They are fun and festive! But I love your bold green and white background! So striking! Great job with the inspiration photo. And I hear you about those toes wanting to be free in sandals, it's supposed to be hot here this weekend, so I'm looking forward to some sun!

You are selling yourself short dear friend....the rainbow stars are fabulous! And I know Ardyth will agree! Great choice of sentiment - the font mimics the whimsy of the stars.

I love the grey sentiment on the vellum and I REALLY love the the bold green chevrons!!!

You....Potty mouth? No Way! I'm quite sure your cussing would have been "G" rated!

Perfect temps here these past few days! Not too hot...awesome for yard work. Rain is coming though and is badly needed!

Seems to me you do rainbows beautifully, Bev ... so no more of that cussing ... or soap!! Love the light dreamy airiness of these open stars ... and I love how the embossed border mimics the angular shapes! Your vibrant green chevrons ... wow, so wonderfully graphic and perfectly softened with the embossed vellum ... just fabulous, my friend! Miss you heaps! Hugs & Bisous! Anita :)

Oh my goodness - I cracked up laughing at your soap comment. Cussing is part of my crafty process . . . it helps with my mojo! LOL Bev, you have done a brilliant job with the rainbow stars! It makes me sad to think you have other beauties in your trash bin - pull them out, as I'm sure they're amazing!! Thanks so much for playing with us at the AEI♥U Challenge - we're so glad you did!!
