First up is a pretty easy QACAS (don't you just love Darnell's acronyms?). This one will head off to Muse, one of my favorite places to play, and also to the Color Throwdown, with a great palette. Check out Vicki's inspiration card:
And as it happens, Color Throwdown has this lovely winter scene:
My take looks like this...
I used a cut file from Silhouette and cut the main image with Michaels white cardstock.Only added three things...One sentiment from W Plus9 with Versafine ink, and two (though it's hard to see) sequins. There's a black one on top of the larger red one. I like the way this turned out, and I think it has Vicki's flavor to it.
Next up is a card for Lawnscaping Challenge 97. The theme is winter with a wonderful inspiration photo with tons of ideas. I'm also popping this into Simon Says Stamp where we're to use something new. And while I'm at it, I think this one will head over to Darnell's NBUS challenge as well!
And here's my card:
My NBUS on this is the LF polka dot paper. I've been hoarding it...so I broke it out today and it was just the ticket. A scrap of black and the light light aqua, as well as the Michaels white. I die cut the tree with a MB die. I added a couple of scraps of white glitter paper die cut with a LF die to look like snowbanks. A bunch of sequins, and if you look closely you'll see a few splotches of yellow directly on the blue panel. I hoped to give it a little depth and mimic the bokeh effect from the top row middle panel of the inspiration photo. The LF sentiment was stamped in Versafine black ink. And there you have it. Thanks for hanging in there with me on this rather long post. Happy dances everyone!

Well, I'm so grateful for that cold Wisconsin weather, Bev ... it means you've had chance to made these fantastic cards! I love the graphic look of the bold, bright bloom ... the double sequin middle is the perfect subtle finishing touch! Your sequined tree is magical ... the shimmer and sparkle is so delicious! Keep cosy, dear friend! Bisous Bisous, Anita :)
Wow love the muse card simply stunning.... And the second card is pretty nifty too !x
Love the symmetry of that cut - perfect for this challenge! As for your other card, I would probably love it in July, but right now, it's cutting a little too close to the reality of our current weather for me to fully appreciate it! lol! I do love the iridescent sequins - very frosty and pretty! Thanks for playing at Muse this week!
Two super cards. Do like the sequins and tree - very seasonal!
Sensible you, staying in your craft room :) Gorgeous cards - love the sequin bokeh tree card.
Wow and wow, Bev! Your bold, graphic flower is awesome and perfect for the Muse and that tree card is fantastic! Sure am glad you stayed indoors today!
I would definitely be hanging out crafting it it were that cold around here. You put your time to great use and made a couple of beautiful cards. Love the bold, graphic pattern on the first and your second makes fab use of the sequins!

I'm so glad to hear that you are staying in and staying warm, Bevie, and that you are not under the covers with a YKW - not that you ever would be! You have made two more splendid cards! I love them both! All those sequints around your tree in the snow made me silly happy, like money was falling from the sky or something! It's just such a happy card and, of course, I always go weak in the knees for polkie dots!! Thank you, thank you for joining in my NBUS Challenge again!! Hugs, Darnell
WOW, Bev, your first card is STRIKING, and your second card is SO fun with all the sequins! Love the design & the polka dot paper.
Stay warm!
Love this pair of cards Bev! That QACAS is just striking with the perfect symmetry and that bold pop of colour. Your happy happy tree put a big smile on my face!
AWESOME card! LOVE how you used the die cut panel for the focal design! Thanks for playing along with us at The Color Throwdown!
Oh, wow! Part of me wishes your bitter cold winter lasts forever so you have time to keep creating amazing cards like this. And the less selfish part of me that also doesn't like to be cold hopes your winter is short. Thank you so much for your comments lately. They've brought big smiles and I really appreciate the beautiful verse you shared.
These are just lovely Bev, I particularly love the Silhouette card and the pretty tree with all those scrummy sequins! Hazel x
Sounds crazy cold and we are so warm, I felt I had to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day. Your craft day was very productive with these two beautiful cards! I do see the yellow splotches and I love the sequins. The red card is gorgeous with the bold black sentiment, nice work ......Bev!
I love being indoors when it is freezing cold outside!!
I really like what you have created. Your bold red flower cut is fantastic - totally eye-catching and fun! And all of the sparkle on your Christmas card is exactly what it looked like at my house yesterday!
A gorgeous card Bev, a lovely design and beautiful snow bank and Memory Box tree with a scattering of pretty sequins!!
Thanks so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
hugs
Heather xx
These are both lovely!
Both of these cards are just gorgeous Bev! I love the big red flower, although I had to look hard to see the black sequin on top of the red one. lol And I have no clue what QACAS means, even though I've seen Darnell use it a lot! I love, love your winter scene with the bare tree, love trees anyway and this one looks so pretty with the polka dot paper and the sequins. It think a good part of the country is experiencing this cold snap, but like you guy we know how to dress for it here in PA. 9 am this morning we were 7 degrees, but the wind chill making it feel l ike -10. Just a little chilly willy! ol Hugs, Brenda
Two super gorgeous cards! LOVE the bold bloom on the first and the amazing sequin placement on the second! HUGS and have a great rest of the week! :) Mynn xx
Your cold winds have blown across Michigan so I, too, am hibernating in my craft room. That first card looks like it was Ardyth inspired to me, very graphic, and the tree almost makes me think of Easter for some reason. Maybe I'm wishing for Spring to come. ;)
These are so beautiful! I love the bold, dramatic statement your Muse and CTD card makes and your wintery card looks fabbo with all those sequins.
It's pretty cold here too and I can't wait for spring!
These two cards are fan-tab-u-lous! The pings were pinging on high gear!
The red dahlia/poinsettia hybrid is stunning! That sentiment was made for this image. Stunning simplicity!
The second card took my breath away! Soft, subtle, pretty, and so gently blinged! Beautiful movement with the sloping snowbanks!
Oh yeah, calling winner, winner on these two beauties!
2 Amazing cards! Just love everything about it! The bold and fabulous Muse card... and the soft and perfect polka dot one!
Well done on both accounts!
Both cards are so lovely. I particularly love the second one and its softness. So pretty.
I don't know where to start! I LOVE the first card - so simple and graphic. The second card is BEAUTIFUL! I love the bokeh type look of the background. The soft feel of the card is lovely. You know I love a scene card and this just melts me! lol hugs!
Nice set of cards. Love the dies you used and the CAS designs on the first 2. The tree looks so pretty on the last card with the sequins. Thank you for playing along with us at The Color Throwdown this week.
I like dual days on blog posts especially when they are gorgeous! Thanks so much for joining in at Muse!
Oh my gorgeous post Bev. Your Silhouette cut flower is beyond gorgeous and I will go searching for it and if I can't find I'll be back to ask you the number--;) The white tree for Lawnscaping is beautiful too. Happy weekend!
Such a perfect take on both challenges! That red flower is stunning! Love the tree card as well - so pretty with all the sequins!
Love your take on the muse challenge, that flower is boldly beautiful!
Simply AWESOME muse card Bev. So crisp, clean and stunning. x
brrrrrr....I hate being cold and it sounds like you have more than your fair share of it. Your cards are amazing, maybe you should stay in more often??? Love the red card, so beautiful and so simple with using your silhouette. Need to find that file. Your tree card is amazing too, so full of sparkle!
Your cards are both gorgeous Bev and I love the big bold bloom on the first one.....totally gorgeous! Hugs xx

WOW, WOW, WOW! What a wonderful way to warm up chilly days by creating two stellar cards! The bold red/black of the first: jaw-dropping beauty. The second: a wintry wonderland scene of sheer delight! Heart-warming in every way...the sparkly flakes, the pretty tree, and oh, that polka-dot background! Hmmm...I don't want to wish more cold weather on you, but...you do work magic with the mercury drops! So awesome!
Hugs~c
I saw your card linked at the NBUS challenge and just had to come see it in more detail. Awesome card! I am now your newest follower and would be honored if you visited my blog and became a follower too. http://karenskreativekards.blogspot.com/
By the way, I am from the Wausau area in Wisconsin, so wondering what part of Wisconsin you are from?
