It's been a long time...

It's been a really, really long time since I've had any time to make cards in my little craft room. Had so much to do, and I just know that you'll be glad to know that I finally finished Kaylin's scrapbook. That took a ton of time! Well worth it though, as she loves her "baby book!!!" My son and dil loved it too. DH had several appointments, and then it was time to get the house ready for Thanksgiving. Big, fun dinner (I got to sit at the kids table!) with the best turkey ever. All the kids left by Saturday, but after church on Sunday I had to leave for Madison to take a granddaughter back to UW, then watch the little ones at my son's and drive home again (two hours one way). I tried to craft yesterday, but I think my brain was too tired. So after a haircut this morning, I've spent the day gloriously crafting!!!!! Ahhhhhh.....

Whenever I've had a few minutes, I've peeked at your amazing creations. Sorry I haven't left comments, but today is really the first day I've been able to catch my breath. I promise to get back to commenting again ASAP.

And I have a card or three coming up. I've found a couple of new challenges, and thought I might give them a try! The first one is ShowCase Your Style, and they're on challenge #3. Killer DT, and a really fun inspiration photo; you've got to go and check it out. The second new-to-me challenge is Challenge Up Your Life. Another great DT, and their challenges run two weeks, giving us all plenty of time to play. I'd like to encourage you all to pop over and play along - who doesn't love a good challenge?! One of my cards will be doubled up and will also go into Less Is More. They're celebrating their 200th challenge, so why not play along over there too! Just make a 'celebratory' card.

First up will be the card for SCYS.

Using a Michael's white base, I stamped a snowflake background in red VersaColor. Cut three panels with MFT's pierced rectangles in red, green, and white scraps. The stamps are from EH (love them), and colored the bulbs with Copics. Although you can't see it, I've added GA on each of the bulbs. The green CS looks a little weird, but it's really complimentary - just doesn't photograph well... EZPZ.

Next up is the double challenge card for CUYL and LIM.

This card started out differently. It took a while for Mr. Mojo to get his act together. Hmmmmm... I wonder if Mr. Mojo was out in California visiting with Darnell's Hammie while I was out of the loop.... Wouldn't be surprised one little bit. Anyway.... I like the simplicity of this card. One stamp, one die, two colors. The turquoise shapes are from AE, with some Pebbles pearls. A stamp from PTI with Potting Soil ink from Ranger. The turquoise and brown strip are scraps. Wish you could see it in real life...

And then I thought, "What the heck." I'm throwing my hat into the ring for the DT Call over at Muse. I love playing there, so why not?! And I happen to think the card I made (while I was with the BABES) fits the criteria. I. Like. It. More importantly, my 8-year old grandson Carter liked it, "best of all the cards I see in your craftroom, grammy!" And without further ado...

The stamps are from EH. I added some GA on Santa's shades. Black VersaFine ink. Michael's white, and a red scrap of CS.

With that, I'll quit. It's good to be back. I've missed you all...Happy dances everyone!!

Great to see you back! Glad everything's going so well - sounds like 'good busy'! Love these cards (and thanks for introducing me to a new challenge that I probably won't have time to play along with! lol!) Love seeing your LakeHouse card - every time I see one, it takes me right back to that amazing time and place with all of you!

All great cards! Thanks so much for posting. I know what you mean when you say it feels good to be posting again...I posted a card today on my blog for the first time in two months! Where did that time go? Your blog was the first one that popped up in my reader...so I knew it was also time to get back to commenting too.

LOVE the graphic look of that first card Bev - reminded me of the type of bold, bright patterns of the 60's (ahem, showing my age there) anyway, I also adore that uber cool Santa and the whimsical greeting! Hazel x

All three of these are wonderful. If I have to pick a fave, I think I'd agree with your grandson. There is something about that santa card--like you get the point across without the entire santa and also such an abbreviated sentiment. Love that.

*Fist Pump* You're back!! And you're okay! And all is now right with the world! I have missed you exponentially and was 'this close' to sending the 'where are youuuuuu' note when your post appeared! Serendipity! How heart-warming to know Kaylin loved her 'baby-book' because we all know you infused it with love! Gosh darn...I'm just so thrilled you're back! Anyway...you cards are a trio of terrific! Mr. Mojo appears to be on duty, my friend! Throwing your hat into the MUSE DT call? Well, I'll end this comment the way it began *Fist Pump* YES!!

Wonderful cards ... sweet wee lights, stunning (or should I say STUNNING!) graphic congratulations and so terrific to see your oh so cool Santa card making an appearance! I used that Santa set on a card just today - isn't it fun?! Mine is for my 18-year old - but I think I'm going to use him with a different sentiment for my 14-year old. It so fits them both! Love your simple treatment - just a read hat on that last card and that's all that is needed. Mr. Mojo does get a little perturbed when we don't craft regularly (but I'm reading your blog in reverse order today and I know from future posts that you've had some jammie/crafting days. yay!)

Oh my goodness, could you be any more creative! Both cards are wonderful. Must say, the "Saw That - Santa" tickles my fancy. Wish I had seen that earlier as I would love to use that. big hugs!
