TwoFer Challenge #31

Hi everyone. I hope that September is 'tree-ting' you right. Hahaha. I'm just full of horrid little jokes, sorry. Couldn't help it. Can you guess what the prompt is this month at The Twofer Challenge? Yep. Uh-huh. Trees. Now, I'd made all my DT cards for the year back in February before life became, well, waaay more challenging. And when I looked at my cards the other day, I thought, "hmmmmm....not sure if I like these any more." So I waited for my Simply Graphic order to arrive with some new (imagine that...) tree dies. I like this pair so much better! Now, you don't have to buy new stamps, dies, or stencils to play along with this month's challenge; nope. You can use what's in your stash to make two different designed cards for two different occasions.

Here are my cards together:

And separately:

The birthday card was made entirely of scraps over in my file drawer, and I bought that striped paper a million years ago to make scrapbook pages with...stopped scrapping a few years ago, and found this little gem amid the 'neutral' scraps. I've got one, maybe two 12x12 sheets that I'm hoarding saving for more cards. It has a nice masculine feel, which is good since this one is winging its way to my middle son for his birthday. So EZPZ. An MFT die, a C9 sentiment, and that new Simply Graphic die.

Card number two is just a simple 'hello' card. This is the entire set of dies from SG. The sentiment is a C9 die. Black and white. CAS. I rather like it. Waaaay EZPZ.

So this challenge runs from the 10th-24th of this month. Hope to see you in the gallery, and don't forget to stop by and visit the other Twofer DT members' blogs, along with our Guest Designers, Helen and Lisa.  I really can't wait to see what you all come up with! And as always...

  3. Graphic designs are wonderful for masculine cards and this birthday card fits the bill. I love that paper, it looks like ticking fabric they used for pillows back in the day. (Well, my day)! It brings back sweet memories. The hello card is striking in black and white and really stands out.

  8. Wow Bev, loving the humor and we can all use some humor these days! So please keep sharing your cute little jokes! Now I wonder what your two other tree twofers looked like, hope you will share them at a later date with us. These two new twofers are fabulous! First off I love the black and white/black and tan/vanilla color combo's. Very sharp looking cards! The birthday card is so masculine looking and funny because isn't anything specific that makes it look masculine, but it just does. Maybe it is the pattern paper that gives it the masculine look, I don't know, but I do know it is fabulous! You son will love it! Your hello card is just so artsy. I love how you have grounded these trees, and the sentiment is just perfect to send a fall hello. Hope you are navigating this journey my sweet friend, I know it takes time but I hope you have plenty of family and friends around to help you. Love and Big Hugs, Brenda

  16. I like both your cards. The first is a nice CAS card. I like how you just highlighted one of the trees. The second card is also cute.

  17. Yes, but buying more stamps and stash is so much more fun than NOT buying them. ;) Until you look at your bank account at the end of the month, that is.

These cards are so fab. They're totally 70s mod retro to me. I love how you can use such amazing clean lines to create something so dramatic and full of WOW.
