Twofer Card Challenge #2

Well, we started off with a bang last month, didn't we?!! Over 130 entries in the gallery. Wow! How much fun was that?! The best thing about the Twofer Challenge is that it really does challenge our brains to work a tad bit harder and do things that are ever so slightly even more out of the box. Now, with each stamp set I see online, see in a store, or even when I peruse my own stamp sets, I think, "How can I use that/those  image(s) in new ways?" But that's the whole point of this challenge, then, isn't it?!

We (obviously) have a new challenge for February! And I think you're going to love it! For all the details, click on the link and head on over! 



My twofers look like this:


Here is a closer look at each card:




While both of my cards use the same heart stamp from Studio Calico, they are quite different from one another. The first has a vertical orientation, while the second is horizontal. The first has one gold embossed heart, and the second has four red-stamped hearts. The colors of the inks and patterned papers are different, as are the occasions. The first one is a Valentine for DH, and the second one is (obviously) a birthday card.

I gold embossed the heart onto a pink scrap of cardstock. I trimmed the panel with an MFT Stitched Square die, then added a slightly larger square in black. I found this piece of patterned paper with triangles, and cut another square. With the center panel adhered, the only thing left to add was my AE sentiment also embossed in gold.

The birthday card was trimmed slim strips of black and white polka dotted paper to encase that row of SC hearts, which were stamped in ME Apple Ink. An MFT 'birthday' die, and a SSS 'happy' complete this EZPZ card. 

Two rather different card designs utilizing the same stamp. I love this idea!!

    That's such a gorgeous heart, Bev ... and you've showcased it beautifully with your Twofer! The gold embossing is rich and luscious ... and the background paper is so perfect with the pattern on the heart! The birthday hearts are wonderfully bold and vibrant ... and not only is there that fabulous triangle pattern ... you added polka dots too ... yum! Oh, and I love how the sentiment pops too!     Love this heart filled with triangles! And you found the perfect triangle DP for it! The playful font of the sentiment gives compliments the patterns beautifully!
    The black/white/red color combo of your birthday card is really striking and the polka dotted strips are so much fun!
    Really amazing to see the two very different designs you came up with using this one heart!

    How cool are these? I LOVE the triangle hearts and your use of triangle paper on the first card. The second with the POP of red is amazing!! STUNNING cards!!

    What inspires me the most about your designs is how you used your pp in such rich and perfect ways for both different designs! The fun and colorful triangles make the perfect background for the triangles inside your gold-embossed heart and the floaty golden sediment ties it all together! Your twofer birthday card is a patterned delight in bold black, white, and red with lots of white space! Great polka dot borders ~ you make me wonder why I spent all that money on Washi tape! Thank you for the fab idea when I want a pattern for a border that I don't have on a tape! Hugs, Darnell

    What a beautiful and intricate heart you chose for these two wonderful cards, Bev! The combination of colors mixed with the gold is so elegant on your Valentine. I love the rich, bold red/white/black combination on your birthday card. Fabulous twofer, Bev!

    Pretty heart image with the design inside. Gorgeous in both gold heat embossed and multi-stamped in red. Love the mix of designer papers you've used to add to the different designs. Fantastic work Bev!! xx

    Wow! I am totally loving both of these stunning cards Bev! That is such a cool stamp and I love how you used it getting two very different cards from it. Love the papers you have used on both cards, the triangle paper works so well with this heart stamp and boy did it make a great Valentine for the hubby! I also love how it looks stamped across the card in red. Now that is a beautiful birthday card with that polka dot paper-that just frames those hearts perfectly! Hugs, Brenda

    Your DSP echos the triangles in that wonderful embossed heart, Bev. And if one heart is good, four are better. The birthday word die balances them perfectly. I love the polka dot trim.

    Two fabulous cards Bev using this pretty heart stamp and what a wonderful complementary paper you have used which goes beautifully with the pink, gold and black, and then the red, white and black with the polka dot paper as a border is equally gorgeous, and love the white space which makes it look so elegant.

    The heart image is beautiful with the filigree styling. I love it as a simple image on #1 with the lovely background and CAS presentation. It really wows on #2 with the quad replication in red combined with the black dots border as well. I like how you've done the sentiment with different colors and fonts. Very chic and sophisticated.
