I saw the fox this morning!

On Wednesday my neighbor and I were talking about gardens, rabbits, and the wonderful life we have living on the shores of Lake Michigan. Michael mentioned that he hadn't seen the foxes all summer long. At the end of our street is a bluff at least 30 feet high (with trails and paths to get down to the beach quite easily), and scads of critters live in the bluffs. The foxes in the area love the bluffs; they're perfect places to make dens. We wondered if the coyotes had gotten to the foxes. Then this morning, there he was...standing as bold as you please, chowing on some kind of rodent - probably a squirrel - looking gorgeous. Did I have my camera? Of course not, dang it! But he was beautiful and I was glad to see at least one of them back in our yards. I've seen a pair sunning themselves by my other neighbor's garage in the past, and a vixen with kits trotting down the sidewalk to the bluffs; to me, the foxes are just enchanting. They can come and visit anytime!!! It was a magical experience, too bad Michael left for SanFran the other day!! I'll text him, but I sure wish I had a photo to send along...

Now that I've babbled on and on, I'm getting right down to this. Today I'm not going to list the supplies for my cards, but will let you know what they are if you ask in the comment section (that is, if I know for sure..as always, I have used scraps on all these cards)

Four, count 'em, four cards. And four challenges. Let's get to business:

First up is the Avery Elle Challenge

Challenge 13

This is a small card, perfect for little hands at 4" x 4".

Next, we're moving right along to CASology. Pretty clean, pretty simple, pretty magical!

And over at Color Throwdown, they've got this fun palette, which in my world leans toward a sort of masculine card...or it it????

And last, but certainly not least is my second card for The Card Concept.

Wedding cards are so much fun to make, aren't they? Oh the promise that a wedding holds...

(that's a printed vellum overlay) Here's a close up so you can see the details a bit more.

And now, I'll be done. Happy dances everyone and have a great weekend!

  1. Fantastic cards!! I love them all but especially your deer little wildlife card : ) I think those animals are nearly huggable LOL

Great fox story too. We found a "nutty bird food" mix draws in the fox. They love it : ) We once had a family of baby foxes from a nearby den frequent our yard. It was adorable! They would play and wrestle together for hours while Mom watched just inside the woods. Sweet little barks just like regular pups! : ) We stopped putting the bird mix out for them when the skunks came in to try and claim the land and food for themselves LOL

Love the wild life in northwestern WI!!

  6. Bev, you are a nature lover, for sure! I think I'd be a bit afraid of foxes living near my home...although I would like to watch them from afar, they are beautiful. Anyway, I love all four cards you posted...and I am enthralled with your magic wand card for CASology. Love how much open white space you left! Thanks for joining in the fun at CASology this week!

  26. Lovely "pings' x four, by dear friend! Each one shines with your versatile style - from fun and cute in the first, clean and simple in the second and third, and full-on elegant and classy in the fourth. The vellum/silver wedding card = gorgeous! Keepsake for newlyweds, indeed! Your story of the 'returned' fox is precious; they are such beautiful creatures. We don't see them here (curious...) very often; coyotes, though, are common, and often enter into town, which is so not a good thing (especially for smaller dogs...) and, eventually, the coyotes themselves, who garner the attention of the Park Rangers. I'd take a family of foxes living in the vicinity over bears and cougars any day!
    Hugs~c
